**I think African-American's owe me reparations, as his descendant, for the extreme suffering he incurred fighting to set them free. Good luck on collecting that. The war between North and South was more economic that moral. After elementary school we were taugh American History consisted more of G. Washington chopping down the cherry tree and announcing 'I cannot tell a lie'. There is an EXCELLENT book called 'Race and Economics' (Sowell, 1975, Longman, Inc.) that explains how whites as well as blacks suffer TO THIS DAY because of slavery. I won't go into it unless you ask, but there is a reason some people think having a house on wheels and furniture on the porch is a GOOD thing. We all still have some stigma because of slavery. Now some notes: 1) name calling (lazy, freaks, fill in the blank) is unnecessary and points towards a pre-conceived notion that blacks want something for nothing and/or are lazy freaks. 2) something for nothing: isn't that the very definition of slavery? And the beat goes on. 3) slavery was legal in America; transporting slaves over the Atlantic was not. Many people (called CARGO) were dumped over board when their ships were about to be discovered by the authorities. 4) there ARE some diseases that plague American Blacks that are a direct result of slavery: high blood pressure is prevalent (NOT EXCLUSIVE) to American Blacks because of the incredibly poor diet fed to slaves. Sickle-cell anemia is caused by a mutant gene that fought malaria in Africa, but has no use in the Americas...the list goes on...but then, with the AIDS epidemic in Africa..high blood pressure and sickle cell is looking pretty good right about now, especially since the chance of having health care is greater here. 5) making light of 'taking my grandpappys land' is moot. WE ALL GOT RIPPED OFF IN THE PAST. The Pilgrims weren't happy families in buckled shoes and funny hats, they were criminals who were thrown out of England and sent here to die in the wilderness. Instead, they found the Indigenous tribes, and by time THEY wised up...oh...well... 6) the justice system works for the trivial as well as what we think is earthshaking. Those people had the right to sue. Whether you like it or not, the RIGHT for everyone to be heard is what makes America worth fighting for. You don't have to like what they said, but they have the Right to say it and we'll call it a wrap. My Personal Thoughts: The thought of reparation is ridiculous cause I'd own everything. In some places and in some eyes, there are different values in America, BUT we are free to be who we want to be.If you don't want to hire me, I don't want to work for you anyway. I recently graduated from an Ivy League University and it cost ME over $25k a semester. And I am paying for it. (and I'm broke, so don't start hitting on me, either). We are who we want to be and cannot change the past. The system should work for everyone, even people that bring dumb suits to court Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!

That was pretty intense... I thought it was pretty mean spirited to make light of planes crashing into the WTC and I sat thru the entire clip, and realized how poignant it is. Why have a COW over small personal choices (love the old man on the bench) while there are bigger and more dangerous things to think about. My prayers to the Military and their families. I really wish this wasn't happening but it is. In the meantime, everyone try to enjoy the ride (life) while you can! Blue skies and bandaids.... Camelot II, the Electric Boogaloo!

hmmmmm...I guess it would take too much thought for him to go into the basement and slice the cable line himself. But why stop here? Why does he not sue the furniture manufacturers for making his sofa so comfy that they can't get their lazy asses off it? Why not sue the supermarket for allowing him to buy all those fattening snacks? Why not sue his wife for plugging the cable back in? Why not sue his educational system for failing him??? I sincerely hope whatever happens, this guy is forced to pay the court costs plus some sort of compensation for wasting time.
