    Pick Up Lines

No pick-up lines has ever worked for me, but I enjoy them for a laugh, here's what I can think of now. - If I follow you home, will you keep me? - Did it hurt? .. (she says: what?) .... When you fell from heaven. - Do you know what's wrong with your legs? Their not around my neck. - It's you!! .. (she says something like: excuse me?) ... then you go: your the girl of my dreams. - Do you sleep on your stomache? Can I? and that's all I can remember. 2. I can quote all the DZ dogs we've had at our DZ's names: CAT STAR BLUE SKY DELTA PUFF PASS PUFF-PUFF Aam and that's all I can remember. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, will be true!
  3. Why not try contacting aerodyne directly [or any other manufacturer for that matter] or visit their web site to get the dealer closest to you. If there are none, I'm sure they will let you order directly from them and ship your gear directly to you or your closest drop zone, or make some kind of plan for you. If you go to the Gear section on this web site, all the manufacturers are listed there and if you go into to the specific product's details, there are links to the manucaturer's web sites. 4. A bunch of guys was going to do a show jump at the South African Premier league soccer finals. They were supposed to jump right after the match ended. So, the teams play and the plane arrives minutes before the end of the match, right on schedule. But there's a problem... The match was a draw and this being a final and all, they had to have a penalty shoot out. So the jumpers don't get their clearance, cause the game is not finished. They circle the field and wait for the penalty shoot out to finish. Anybody that knows soccer, knows that this can take a while. Eventually the plane runs out of gas, and the pilot tells the jumpers, either they jump now, or they fly back with the plane. Difficult choice for a skydiver? So they jump and it ends up they jump out right before the critical last penalty with the scores tied. They had to stop the shoot out and wait for the canopies to land. After they landed the shoot out carries on and ..... the guy misses the last penalty of the South African premier finals!! Needless to say the jumpers got out there very quickly because of many angry supporters and players. The story made the CNN Play of the day. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, will be true!
  5. Yeah notticed a lot of South Africans in here. And JSC seems to be most represented. Thanks for all the welcomes guys!! Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, will be true!
  6. Thanks guys for all your input. My conclusion is, whatever you jump, learn to fly it according to it's characteristics. And keep it safe. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, will be true!
  7. A Really experienced skydiver at our DZ made a good point the other day, and I tend to agree with him. He said that Helmets and most other skydiving equipment have become more fashion items than anything else. People loose focus on practicality and care only if stuff looks "cool". If only people would give so much attention to functionality than they do to looking "cool". Don't get me wrong, I love having the right colour that mach my rig with my jumpsuit etc. but first and foremost I pay attention to how well stuff works! 8. Ok, I can't really argue at all, like I said I am still learning. Before I am going to go and break myself, I'd rather listen to as many oppinions as possible in order to get the best. I just found that by doing the same long slow diving front rizer turns with a couple of canopies, the ones that felt safest and turn slowest was ones with long recovery arcs. And this fitted with advice I got from experienced swoopers. I found canopies with quick recovery arcs I had to turn lower, and they turned faster on front rizers, which was not comfortable for me, and scared me. If you could please explain to me why you think short recovery arcs is safer, it would be much appreciated. Don't just tell me this is how it is, and that's it. thanks Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, will be true!
  9. not starting a low pull contest here... Are you ?? You lost... Lowest pull I've ever seen was at 300ft AGL. Three way almost went in together. Lowest of the three didn't even have time to touch his toggles, let alone land with them. He doesn't even remember pulling, and he dumped his main. He says last thing he remembered was...he thought he was dead and then he woke up on the ground. I wave off and go for my puff at 3000AGL which puts me under open canopy at approx 2500AGL. 10. Hi, Suppose I have to introduce myself, sometime. My name is Jaco and I'm addicted to skydiving........................................................................................................................................................................(everybody together!!)...........Hello Jaco! 11. I stand to be corrected, but I am trying to learn this swoop thing, and learn it correctly. I have spoken to all the master swoopers I have ever seen and their response was all the same. Canopies that recover quicker means lower turns, which means less margin for error. When your canopy recovers quickly it means almost going back to the committing toggle turn low to the ground that we used to see a lot. Your angle in the corner is smaller, so when you want to start doing low turns or swoops it means more danger. If you have a long recovering canopy, it means higher turns and if you do these correctly it means by the time you get to the ground your canopy will be very close to recovery but with just as much speed. If you did this too low you will have more time to give input earlier than with committing quiker recovering canopies. This is the reason people started using front rizers in the first place and moved away from toggles. Safer, longer swoops! Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, will be true!
  12. The thing I like most about the place is the great attitudes at PSC. No where else will you find people with no stuck up ideas or Sky-God attitudes that is just in the sport to compliment their power trip ego's. No, the people at PSC has one common goal, skydive..skydive..skydive (ok , and then party). Some of the best coaches in the country in all disciplines jumps here. Free-flying, RW(flat-flying) and much more. And always very helpfull and willing to help. Most of the time the DZ is willing to operate in the week if loads can be organized and filled. And then besides all that, the place looks absolutely amazing all year round, with great facalities. I just can't help it, I find myself packing up every friday after work, and then coming back home Sunday evening late! all in all a home away from home.
