Not instigating. Just curious because i always hear people saying that there are a lot of people who live in San Diego but do not jump there for certain reasons. I want to see if these people will now be jumping down here at Brown.
-
I think you have made the best decision (if that means anything). Also, I think reinforcing the fact that they have the power within themselves to take control of their own lives and that they dont need some book or preacher to tell them what to do is very important.
-
I think that forcing religion (not saying that this is what you are doing) is almost as bad as physically abusing your kid. I have seen too many kids that grew up in super-religious families who turned out to be so brainwashed that they could never see past it.

Its only happened to me a couple of times. I was just joking around. It was just to say that I get the feeling at otay alot that we (experienced jumpers) are not that important to them. All in all, I like otay and I dont know when I will go check out Brown.
-
If you are a san diegan or somewhere nearby, will you be jumping at Skydive san diego or Skydive southern california? Just curious if some people will be switching over from Otay to Brown Field. Let us know your reasons why (besides the fact that otay always bumps you for students). Other question: Does otay still have the cypress requirement of over 1000 jumps? I noticed they took it off of their website.

How about AFF instead? -
Solos are boring a lot of times once you get to a point with your headdown that you are not worried about proximity issues and you are more interested in docking and other two way manuevers(or big way stuff), i.e. you are not moving around unless you want to. Of course there is unlimited room to progress from this point I am at but when I only have one or two days a week to jump, I dont like to spend it flying around by myself. For me, it is almost always more fun to go out and fly with someone else. This doesnt say anything about my reasons for jumping, I still love it just as much as you do. I just happen to think solos are boring most of the time (unless you have a malfunction). P.S. - All this being said, I would never dog anybody for doing solos, I think it is the only way to progress safely (unless you can afford to pay a coach on every jump). And hey, if that is what you like to do, have a blast!

Does anything of value come from anything in Talkback?

Why dont you turn a little bit so we can get a better angle??
-
didnt work for mine either but the suit got here in time.
-
this is true but girls will always hold out for as much as they can get meaning that they will always try to get the "best looking guy" and if that doesnt work they will move on down the line from there. The problem is that some of us in here always seem to be at the end of that line (and we rarely get in).

Of course you have never hijacked a thread before, right?

Uhhh.......NO! The guy is weak in every aspect of the word when it comes to drumming. Wow, he can play some cool double bass shit...who can't? The guy is a clown. I just think it is funny that so many people think he is so great when there are shitloads of guys nobody ever heard of that will make him look stupid.
-
Yes please. Lars always has been and always will be a weak drummer and a pussy. Sometimes I wish he would have been sleeping where Burton was during that bus accident. I dont think they would have ever sold out with Cliff around.

In AFF, we had to do a sit exit at altitude to see what it was like to go unstable. Almost everyone goes to their back in this level and then recovers. Maybe your DZ is different. Edit: I also remember doing flipping exits and then getting stable.
-
The big problem before was with people smoking and jumping. Leave skydiving out of it. Do you smoke when you are not at the DZ??
-
Yes but that is some serious shit. A lot of those are for serious teams in competitions. From the way alot of these RW guys talk, you would think they were competing. Point being: too many RW guys take it way too seriously, to the point that it would not even be fun anymore, for me atleast.
-
My question is how many of you RW only people actually have done any successful freefly dives? But seriously, RW is for people who like to do fast tick-tack manuevers (not to say it is easy, bec. I am sure it is hard) and see "how many you can get in" before the buzzer. Freefly (except in certain instances) is more like " Hey, lets go out and have some fun and we will put a little plan together and if it doesnt work, fuck it, it was still cool as hell". I seem to see too many RW guys that get all hardcore and pissed off when they dont turn enough points. Hey, maybe it is just my experience but that attitude turned me off to the whole idea of doing RW. Plus, there are so many things about freeflying, like carving, that RW guys dont really ever get to do. I guess it basically comes down to freedom of flying around how you want to and not always worrying about being in the "perfect" position.

What a rockin sex life the Donaldsons must have.. "No sir! Of course not! I've never seen his 'thingy'!!!" Those are the people that only have sex with the lights off and for no reason anytime during sex will they under no circumstances make eye contact.

Youre gonna be like the fat guy on Jackass when he tried to drink all those cups of egg nog.

Fuck that. Utah will always win no matter what.

thats bullshit. Some tickets should be given out and some shouldnt. It is just like the cops here in San Diego who have quotas. They wont admit it but I am sure they do. They give out some fucked up tickets. Their job is to keep us safer. Giving out bullshit tickets does not make us safer most of the time.
