  1. Consider this: this freakshow of a 'family' was on Stern so a new guy could attempt to get a job there. As despicable as the entire thing was (yes, I was listening and puking at the same time), there's no telling if what they were saying was true or not. Sensationalism and all that. The dude that brought them in even sd he didn't know them as of 24 hours prior. That being said, while I'm certain there are plenty of disfunctional families that benefitted from the fund, I believe there are many more that put (or are putting) the funds to good use. One bad apple...?
  2. Although...hamsters DO have disturbingly large..um..'boys'.
  3. So a baby seal walks into a club...
  4. That's why Gawd made VCRs and/or TiVo. There is no acceptable excuse for missing the Family Guy. Thank you, and have a good day.
  5. I sent this to Katie, and she urged me just to post it here...so.... I'm still a bit shy about posting on the forum...I lurk due to my newbieness...please pass on to Paul that I am thinking of him non-stop, and my prayers are totally with him. He's a wonderful man and his confidence and enthusiasm that he shared during my 2nd tandem are still ringing in my heart. I've only known him a couple of weeks, but we somehow bonded really quickly.

    ROFLMAO!!!!!

    ...Reminds me of the target practice scene in Super Troopers. L L Loser!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Here's another, somewhat more complex take on that basic concept. The cool thing about this is that you can chat with others who are playing it across the innernet and work together to progress. The soundtrack is irritating, but that's why gawd made mute, isn't it? http://server-admin.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/motas/mystery/testgame.htm
  8. Yeah, I tried to send you the question at the webmaster@ address, but it got bounced back. I dunno. Can't wait till it's back.
  9. Bjorn Borg & Kevin Bacon. Both of whom aged like crap. So sad.
  10. Hey. The site is excellent when up. But for the past 2 days I've been getting >>>>>>Object not found! The requested URL was not found on this server. The link on the referring page seems to be wrong or outdated. Please inform the author of that page about the error. Error 404 Whazzuppp???
  11. I kind of liked the visual that went along with : "Most skydivers retire from age and infirmity before they reach 10,000 jumps. " Nice edit, though.
  12. Well lookee here... http://www.webtender.com/cgi-bin/imbselect Perhaps it will help you in your search. If, in fact, your search is still going on.
  13. Okay, maybe the thread should die quietly, but never let it be said that I am a quiet person. If somebody, a TM, knows that s/he is HIV positive, the responsible thing is to disclose. This (disclosure) has been a controversy for as long as HIV has been somewhat understood. My opinion is disclose, and let others weigh their risk. In the past I worked with many folks living with HIV or full blown AIDS. This was many years ago, and LOTS more prejudice hit them. People saw HIV as a curse, a punishment, whatever. Ignorance is an amazing thing. But with only one exception, even back then, the buddies I had disclosed when there was a situation where they were putting another person at risk. Because it was the responsible and fair thing to do. There's not a cure yet. Yes, the medical world has found ways to extend and improve upon the life of people with HIV/AIDS with its amazing cocktails . But it is still a 100% terminal disease. Maybe some people don't like to hear that, but it is a fact. Folks with HIV/AIDS still worry about their T-cell counts and other such things on a daily basis. And are aware that they can transmit the disease. Not as easily as Hep. But it can be spread...rather efficiently, in cases of blood-to-blood. If I were to do a tandem and bust a bone, I can tell you I would be bummed. But if I were to do a tandem, bust a bone, and contract HIV from my TM's bleeding nose or whatever mingling with my bodily fluids as my bone jutted from my flesh, and I DIDN'T KNOW that I had been at that risk, I'd be more than bummed. If I knew, then it's on me. It was a 'calculated risk'. If I didn't, but the TM did...well, that's just wrong. In my opinion.

    Yo.

    pseudo-techie: (n) [sooo-do--tekk-ee]: one who speaks normalese and techese and attempts to get fluff speakers to understand tech speakers. 2. one who has just enough techie knowledge to be dangerous usage: 'Hey, I'm a marketing person and I don't understand this geek...let's go get a pseudo-techie to explain' (explanation usu = 'what are you, nuts? no, we can't do that in 2 hours, freak!')
  17. Disclaimer: total newbie/aint never jumped/just tryin' to do some book larnin' afore I do true larnin'. That being said...um...if one is leaping from a plane miles up in the sky...and if one were to impact upon the ground roughly one would be, say, going really really fast...why wear a helmet? What is the purpose of a helmet in this particular sport? Please be gentle. I'm harmless. Most of the time.

    BLOWN UP, SIR!

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ That comment reminds me of the statement from the paramedics who accidentally set that woman on fire Monday with a defibrillator...they figure that, while it could be upsetting to some, "When you defibrillate a person, they are already dead." So really, no harm done.
  19. Ugh. Everyone is so damned touchy. Wanna see some festive attire? www.tshirthell.com A truly wonderful place. Unless you're a thin skinned overly sensitive PC maniac. Then, well, here's a tissue. I'm harmless. Really.
  20. Ah...Tietze's Syndrome... http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/costochondritis.htm snippet: Why or how does a person get costochondritis? The risk of developing costochondritis increases with any physical activity that causes trauma or strain to the ribcage. It is a benign condition usually of short duration that resolves completely. Sometimes though it can recur or become persistent. Perhaps when your chute opens? Undo stress repeatedly...just a thought... hope you feel better.
    Yo.
    So, okay. The other week I draft this fabulous intro for myself. Apparently I am click-impaired and the reason it didn't post is user error vs. being screened prior to going up. So fine. I'll try it again. No matter. I am a pseudo techie from Delaware, obsessed with the concept of hurling myself from a plane and eagerly awaiting warm weather. I have not yet actually jumped, but am also awaiting the arrival of my self-purchased gift certificate to CrossKeys (of course with video so I can see my cheeks flapping in the wind). I WILL be jumping in a few months. I started surfing through the forum to learn as much as I can from folks who have experience. And so far have come to the conclusion that y'all rock most mightily. I'm certain learning this will be the highpoint of your respective days. I'm harmless. Most of the time.
