Bill, I understand your feelings about the film being too violent. It was very violent. But its nice to finally see a movie that portrays the crucifixion more like it probably was. I took my good friend to see it and she asked me questions all the way home. Its a good witnessing tool to friends who you may not be able to reach any other way-if they have the stomach for it. The violence helps show how the ultimate sacrifice was paid. Also, it was good he included other things, like the temple and curtain over the holy of holies being torn. Other imagery was also good; such as when Jesus crushed the snake's head under his foot, the blood splattering on the soldier who stabbed him, and the depiction of Silas helping Jesus carry the cross. All things to inspire questions from non-believers. I thought it was a great movie and it took a lot of balls from Gibson to do something like this.

The procedures are explained in AVO6100-47. Unfortunately this is Sensite Security Information. However, the USPA website gives a good, accurate summary of the AVO.

This is absolutely not true. Fertilizer has TNT and Nitro chemicals in it, perfum, heart medicine, road constuction chemicals, road salt, and countless other materials will all cause a rig to hit for explosives. I suggest having it cleaned before air travel. I just travelled to Florida in Jan. I had no trouble and my rig was just washed.

This doesn't happen anymore. It used to. An AVO came out about how to handle parachutes when they come through security. All screeners were mandatorily trained on what to do should they encounter one. faith

We can deny access of the rig onto the concourse. The airline (since the plane belongs to them) has pretty much the ultimate say as to whether the rig boards their plane or not. They can get it onto the concourse through SIDA (Security Identification Display Access). If there definately is something suspicious about one, which I've never encountered, the rig will be investigated and, to say the least, the person will miss their flight.

I am a supervisor for the TSA and I am a skydiver. The TSA will only hassel a person if they come through the checkpoint or check their rig (which I would not suggest-you don't want it thrown around by aircrew) if your rig hits for explosives. Otherwise it will come through the x-ray normally. You need to understand that every rig with a cypres has an IED(improvised explosive devise) in it. There is no way of knowing whether this is a real explosive or not. For more information, it is on the USPA's website. You probably can also find the AVOs (aviation operations) on the FAA website. What needs to be understood is that the normal screener is not a skydiver, so and IED found in a rig can cause commotion. Stay calm. Its really no big deal. The worse that will happen is that they will open your rig.

It is one of the best books I have ever read. The author is like a genius. I got so into it I was actually on the Internet looking at Di Vinci paintings so I could see what Brown was talking about. I would first suggest reading by Dan Brown first. It is almost as great and it is about the same character a year earlier. I just bought one of Brown's earlier books, , has anyone read that one yet?

I am not currently a member of CSA but plan on joining soon. Its nice to see some jumpers wearing their patch and knowing that they too are Christians. As far as church on Sundays, I usually have to work anyway buy I will alternate on Sundays between church and the drop zone. What I need to do is find a good church CLOSE to the drop zone.
