    You ever get discouraged because everything just seems to fall apart all at once? Right now school sucks really bad and now everything with skydiving seems to be doing the same. I have been jumping for a yr now and only have 13 jumps. Part of that is because i took 5 months off due to school and trying to keep my grades up. I have been trying to get gear so that i will be more eager to jump and everytime i get a possible deal something happens. I am a very small girl and i have found only 2 containers in the last 6mths that fit me and of course both times they got bought right before i could. I can't afford new gear and i just really feel discouraged right now. If anyone has any used gear that would fit someone that is 5'2 and only weighs about 100lbs please let me know. thanks

    A friend of mine suggested contacting USPA for help with legal fees...don't know if anyone has. Just a thought. Jana

    Well this is my home DZ and i know mike will give them hell....he contacted a ton of local businesses to help with the cause...since the packing dome got blown away we have been giving a good bit of money to the local hotels so it will have an inpact on them if we get shut down. And then there is the skydivers like me who drive almost 3 hours to go there on the weekends and if it would have to be moved that is a longer drive....as soon as i hear anything from tom. i will let everyone know. keep Mike in ur mind tom....

    well that is pretty funny... u know the thing that made me the most mad is the way i am going to look this weekend....it is mardi gras and i am supposed to be hittin up new orleans and then make some jumps on sun....but of course i got put on meds so i am not to sure if i am going to be able to jump.

    Today i was walking to work on campus with my wendy's in hand and like an idiot tripped over nothing and hit face first on the sidewalk in front of tons of students. I busted my cheek and my lips as well as chipped my tooth.... Anyone want to make my day by making me laugh with u about some humiliating experience you've had!!!! Jana pms #254

    I saw this thread last week and last night i got told the most offensive pick up line. I was out with my sister and thie guy comes up to us and says "You see the b***** behind you they have confidence and you don't " then he proceeds to tell me that he has been watching me all night and that I look pathetic dancing and that i would look much better if i was dancing with him. I wanted to kick him in places that would really hurt...i was so offended.

    I am a psychology major and for an english project i have to interview someone in my career field that isn't a proffesor on our campus. We can do email and phone interviews. The research project has to be on something new and inovative in the field of psyc. If anyone has been a psychologist for more than five years and wouldn't mind me interviewing u please pm.     Thanks guys for answering that one for me...ok one more if anyone sees this...how often do u have to renew a tandem rating?

    ok I am sorta a up jumper still don't have my A yet. Anyway I have a friend that wants to do a tandem Is it ok to ask the tandem instructor to she his rating certificate to make sure it is current? and is it ok to ask for a copy of the waivers u sign? any thought would be great thanks.

    I started out doind tandem progresion. My dz does 4 tandems and then only four levels of aff before u graduate....I ended up doing 3 tandems and then doing levels 2-7 of aff cause i didn't feel u leaned everything u needed to learn....i agree with everyone else ask your instuctors they are the best source of information.

    hey guys i live outside of new orleans we were really spared this time....I graduated aff at gold coast last weekend and will be there all weekend willing to help out anyway I can....If it wasn't for them i would not be skydiving...lots of love and vibes go out to Mike and Leanne. Jana

    Okay i know frank weathered the last storm at lake whales but i would think it would be best if he didn't sit in a hangar for this one anyone else think so as well?

    Ok everyone has said relax which is honestly the best thing that has helped me...My level 5 which was a week ago went pretty good after my instructor gave me the relax symbal. It is amazing how much of a difference it makes when you relax. I felt my body just sink and it felt pretty cool...even though i failed that level it still was good that I was able to finally feel what a relaxed arch feels like. One of my instructors said that if i didn't smile in freefall she would fail me that helps a little as well as wiggling your fingers. I am on jump number 9 i think and still have level 6 and 7 left to go...I just have issues with turns..... Keep trying and don't make it a race to finish i have been jumping since feb. and am in no hurry to graduate. Hope things get better for you and don't get discouraged everyone keeps telling me that once you get off of student status and don't have the stress of doing things right you start lauging at yourself when u do things really stupidly.

    I am going through the same thing right now. As i jump more I get more confident in what i can do. My anxiety was so bad i would cry before i even got on the plane. Now i put my gear on know my plan and do it. Knowing as much as you can will help alot. Hang in there i hope it gets better for u. Jana
