How far from your hometown do you currently live?
DownWind replied to seejanefall's topic in The Bonfire
I am currently 2,044 miles from my home town. I have not lived within 500 miles for the past 12 years. I am 287 miles from the closest DZ. -
No heat and no AC in our home here in Mexico, although it is never that cold for that long. I feel for you though having grown up in the north east.

From a co-worker who had a stutter: I blew..........I blew...........I blew................up my computer. The timing had the attendants almost rolling on the floor.

I have not used Sirius, but just had the good fortune to have XM radio for an 8 hour trip in Mexico. XM kept me sane in the traffic through Mexico City. They have a great selection of channels and I really enjoyed listening to NPR again.

I am heading down to Cuautla this weekend from Guanajuato. Is anyone else from DZ.com going to be there?

I lived outside Detroit (Royal Oak) for five years. The area is great if you don't mind the winters. There are three dropzones within an hour and a half. Tecumseh is where I jumped and it is a very friendly DZ. Outside of skydiving, the Detroit area has a lot to offer. All the major sports, concerts, outdoor activities galore. If you need any specific information, feel free to PM me.

Does anyone know what city the Mexico City (DF) DZ is in? I am living three hours north of DF by car and would love to go and get some jumps in.

Skydive Spaceland 2006 Promotional Trailer
DownWind replied to AFFI's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Great job on the trailer. I will be out to visit October 14 & 15 to get some fun jumps in. What is the beer of choice out at spaceland? -
PPG paint has been great for us. They sell it under the following names: Pittsburgh Paint Monarch Paint Porter Paint Good luck painting your condo. We painted our house about 7 months ago. We used an orange in the dining room and a olive brown in the living room. I was sceptical before it went up, but it looked great.

Nice Save Liz. Glad you landed safely.

Have you ever been asked if you were gay (and are you)?
DownWind replied to kelel01's topic in The Bonfire
I was home for Christmas three years ago having a beer with my cousin and he busted out the "Can I ask you something?". Of course I said yes. The question, to my surprise, was "Are you gay?". I told him no and spent the next 10 minutes attempting to make him understand I was not. People are funny sometimes. I suppose being in your 30s and not having a girlfriend or wife makes you gay in his eyes. -
Working till midnight on the second business day of every month. Working on budgets during prime skydiving season.

I prefer to be cold, at least you can put on more clothes to get warm. When it is hot our, there is only so much you can do to get cool.

I curently drive 70 miles to jump at Tecumseh in Michigan. Starting next week, I will be moving three hours north of Mexico City and will have a 4 hour drive to the closest DZ, at least during winter months. I am still trying to sort out jumping in the summer. I may be flying up to Houston every once in a while to jump at Spaceland.
