Hell, I went to HS with a girl at Spaceland. We hung in the same groups...etc.. We still don't remember each other Strangely, we both are originally Dallas girls, transplanted to Houston, now jumpers. Small world.

That makes sense. I can see where she would place more value on it if it came out her pocket. I can help her some with the cash for jumping, but she needs to save some of her own $$ so I can have new stuff!!

It's a softball scholarship. She's a pitcher (starter)....so, any injury would affect her performance. (trains year round with scrimmages in the fall, full season in the spring, and she'll be playing this summer as well for her travel team) Don't forget to flare!!!

Thank you WrongWay - from your post you clearly understand where we both are in this little dilemma. She gets to taste it again via tandem this weekend. And, if, like you say, she just can't take it anymore...we'll talk and look at doing some solos this summer. It just seems like a waste of money if she can't jump during the school year.

Tonto, she's done 3 tandems. A lot changes when she's completed her education/athletic committment. She, herself, doesn't want to risk losing her scholarship if she was to end up with a skydiving related injury. (She is going to be 19 on the 18th). Your kids are very lucky to have been introduced at such a young age. Thanks for your post.

I guess it isn't fool proof (staying behind the leader) - after all you managed to ruin the other guy's day today!!!!! You haven't missed anything as far as radar detectors go - maybe technology has changed, but I spent too many times distracted because almost everything set it off! I got rid of it after my last ticket.

Right now would be the time to knock on wood!!!! I used to use a radar detector. I got more tickets when I had that than ever before. Now I just stay behind the fast guy and let him get it!!!

HA HA HA!! Great story!! I tried the "oh, maybe if I exit over the next hill he won't see me........." Didn't work. He popped me. SHIT!! you just reminded me. My daughter got a ticket last week.....dammit...$$$$$$$

Bobsled....I gotta hand it to ya...that's pretty good. They'd leave it alone because she's always tripping on something (literally). ______________________________ Billy...you didn't misinterpret anything. I wasn't looking for any answers in particular - there really aren't any right ones in this particular scenario. Your thoughts support my initial feelings...it's me that's having patience issues, unfortunately. As for rewarding her for a job well-done, I like the idea. Again, it's just gonna be hard for me to hold off for that long.

Thanks, and I understand your point, and have already considered this...but, it would be a little hard to tell your coach that you hurt your leg, arm, or whatever by skydiving....bye, bye scholarship!! A whuffo coach would oust her for having her priorities screwed up. And..........before anyone mentions it....if she lies about an injury...it'd catch up with her...she sucks at lying.

Thanks Conway So, I guess you wanna jump with both our flailing asses one day, huh??? Poor Conway... I'll start drilling "eye contact" to her NOW!! She's going to do a tandem this weekend. It's been over 90 days since her last one. I'm hoping we can make it memorable. You'll be in SDSM!! Crap! She's gonna be playing in Fort Worth on her actual BDay 02/18.

LOL!! Wasn't you that had a pic of your little boy posing like a freeflier?? It's a beautiful sport and to share it with someone special in your life must be incredible. I hope your first isn't a "one and done," but at least she's gonna try it!!
