  1. Tonto, I understand what your saying. Im not going against you in any way. Since he is on this canopy, shouldnt we at least try to give him advice on how to stay alive? Straight in approaches is the best i could think of on how to keep it safe. Yeah, odds are if there is something in his way and he freaks out he is gonna seriously hurt himself, if not kill himself. But, what are we to do? Ignore the post and not tell him anything? We could...but i would rather give him something to think about. He can take all this info and just completly ingnore it and do whatever he wants. But, he could listen to it and it could make it just a little more safer for him. I know, a lot of people are injured due to landing under a canopy that they shouldnt be on due to them freaking out. I do read these forums and i do see what goes on. All i tried to do here is give him some advice to keep him alive. Im not trying to get smart with you. I know you have far more experience than i do. I just wanted to help him out some. Blue skies t.
  2. Easy guys, i dont think anyone has really helped him out yet on what he should do (except hookitt). Yeah maybe he downsized fast. I dont fully agree with him downsizing that fast either, but he has and we cant change it. So lets try to focus on helping him out on the canopy that he's on. I think that hookitt gave you some really good advice. I would suggest (take this as you want, i only have 212 jumps, i dont claim to be an expert) that you really take it easy until you get the feel of the canopy first. Make nice easy straight in approaches, do a bunch of high hop-n-pops with it to get as comfortable as you can with it. Up top be able to fly it slow at first, then work on fast later. Know exactly how it stalls in rear risers and in toggles. Just be careful with it. O yeah...have fun! --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  3. Were still jumping here in Franklin, Indiana. I dont see why greensburg would stop you from jumping. Yeah its not too cold here, this isnt even close to cold compared to the actual midwest winter. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  4. I bought mine straight off the website --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  5. i have a sabre2 135 and i like it. The openings can be a little unpredictable at times, but it is normally a slow, controlled turn that can be corrected easily. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  6. Yeah, i'll work on that, just give me a couple days or so and i'll have one on here. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  7. Man...jimmy is an awesome skydiver! I hope one day i can be as good as him. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  8. Our DZ goes down to DeLand every thanksgiving week. (All you people there from deland probably know us as the Indiana group) Its normally pretty nice down there, im sure you could hang out with us. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  9. Anyone know any music that could really go with like sunset jumps or just some kind of easy going music without any words that goes well? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  10. I am pretty good at sitflying and standing. I didnt really cork out, (when i stated that i kind of flipped out, it didnt actually mean it like it sounds) I basicaly just had to go back into a sit and kind of wabbled. I think that i am safe and take things slow. I was with someone that had 1000 plus jumps who had jumped with me quite a bit. If he didnt think I wasnt good enough, he wouldnt have went. I do feel that i am safe and the 2 people that i was with had a pretty good time. If i felt that in any way i was going to hurt those two people, i would never have done it. O and the part about looking up is that the 2 way above was kind of turning a little bit and i was geeking them a little too much i think and i may have arched a little, but i didnt completely flip out of my stand, just wabbled a little and went back into a sit. I also know someone that had 3000 plus jumps and was a pretty good sitflyer and standflyer that on his first hybrid corked out a little. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  11. Well it was the first time that i stood on a hybrid and it actually went pretty well for the first time. I kind of had a little trouble gettin under but once i was there...i was there. I told myself not to look up, but i did anyways and arched, which made me flip out. I love doing hybrids because our dropzone is mainly belly flyers and it gives us a chance to show them a little about freeflying. So...any tips on what to do or how to get better at it? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  12. I think techno can be used too much sometimes, but it generally goes with skydiving. Sometimes its good to hear stuff like the music behind Aria's promo vid on performancedesigns.com....by the way does anyone know what song that is or some like it? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  13. I dunno, being only 16 and 140 lbs, i just stand to keep up the speed without really realizing it until i see it on video. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  14. Hey, now i know a lot of you have had some bad experiences with kurupee but, i think that they are AWESOME! I just got my new suit in today and it looks and fits great. Ive inspected it for things wrong and couldnt find anything at all. It just makes me wanna go jump! The time it took to get here was great also considering that they are in Paraguay. They answered all my questions within a day also. So...Kurupee, you guys are AWESOME. Anybody else have really good experiences with them? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  15. Yeah i have heard about the idea of people landing wingsuits, but i think the idea was blown apart when they kinda figured out that to be able to actually slow yourself down that much there would be a ton of pressure. The problem with that is that they said it would be enough to rip a persons chest in two. Now we dont want that happening now do we? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  16. Hey someone may have said this already, im just too lazy to read all these replies But, heres mine. On the way to altitude, the tandem master says to the student... tm: first time? student: yup!! tm: yeah...me to. come on, that had to make you smile. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  17. Well if your gonna send the name to PD you gotta find some kind of weird plane that no one has ever really heard of, and they will probably like it. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  18. Yeah when we go to florida we might be takin our gear with us when we fly. Im really paranoid about that stuff. What do they say about the cypress? My stepdad is a rigger. Would his rigging license help any? Or is there a card you can get thats like an x-ray that tells them? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  19. Yeah the sabre2 is really a great canopy. I LOVE my saber2 135. Im just learning 45 and 90 degree swoops on it. I have been able to fly it in brakes and land in the pit, to gettin 60 to 80 foot swoops so far. Im really lookin forward to bein able to do a lot more with this canopy, but takin my time. Now im just interested, what canopy are you going to go for now? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  20. Haha, well at least the guy tried to warn him, but with 50 jumps he wants to go to a stiletto 135 huh? So confident in himself that he even orders a rig made to fit a 135. Now i remember when i had 50 jumps and i remember thinkin the same thing... "Well i will just take it easy for awhile on it" Thankfully i got slapped back into reality. Sometimes it takes something like someone just telling you that you ARENT ready for it. Im glad i took my time and i have a lotta fun swoopin my sabre2 135 now. Im also glad that i waited until i had at least 150 jumps on it. I can get away with being on a 135 with only 150 jumps because i dont weigh so much. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  21. Hmm, thats kinda weird. My sabre2 135 has never done anything like that. You had to have been jumping with people with the same descent rate as you under canopy? So like the others stated it was probably just some turbulance off another canopy. It can kind of scary if youve never felt it. I caught some turbulance off Paul the other day under his vengence 135 when we were flying by each other. (This is Jeremy by the way ) Ive never got endcell closure off of it though. Talk to me more about it next time your at the dropzone. --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  22. Yeah, here in indiana it may spin off a few rain showers but thats about it. I just hope DeLand will be ok for thanksgiving week because thats when our group goes down there. Last year we had enough people to fill the skyvan (yeah were a small dropzone). It got to the point where they started callin it the "IndianaVan" O man, now im drooling just thinkin about the skyvan. ummm....Go Cesnas!! --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  23. I agree. We are a small cesna dropzone and all i and the other coaches are charging is the slot and $5 for the pack job. Its fun teaching, but at the same time i keep it serious and really try to improve their skills. But i still have a question, will USPA let me get my coach rating at only 17 years old? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  24. Hey, yeah im jumping a sabre2 135 and im pretty much at the exact spot that you are at. Despite the fact that we have lower wing loadings i have been gettin at least 50-60 foot swoops almost every time now with a 90. Im at the point now like tree just stated to where i can pretty much skim my foot across the grass and make it look easy. Im glad you posted this! Helps me understand my progression a little better --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
  25. Yeah i agree also. I have taken people up only after they have gone up with much more experienced people and cleared for being non-radical. I still really keep my guard up when taking someone. I have actually taken people up and coached them when they didnt quite have their license, but that were good enough to get it. O yeah i guess i have a question for you guys with coach ratings. Well see, im only 17, will USPA still let me take the coach course? --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
