Dude..... Andy here.... Haha..... I have lots of these badboys. Heres a recent one but a good one about "Campsite Area 51" So there we were kickin' back by the "Alien Egg Shaped" fire pit. A semi long day of skydiving and more booze than a licquor store. (Like any of us needs a better excuse to party it up) We had gone to dinner Ramone's... there had been a call out between a Naval Officer and a Air Force NCO. Being a man of fair game I assisted the 2 with a gallon of Jim Beam. Who was gonna drink the other under the table? The night was young. Both contestants braved shot after shot. Chasing each drink with a beer. OK So I have the Airforce on my left and the Navy on my right. Everyone is kickin having a good time, when SOMEONE tosses a Bic lighter into the fire. (which amazingly goes unnoticed by all) Moments later..... There is a sudden burst. Everyone jumps, except the culpret who tossed the lighter in. As the blast occurs.... the guy on my left goes straight back in his chair. We look over and he is holding up his beer. Proudly proclaiming that he hadn't spilled a drop. As we jump to our feet to assist our fallen brother, we notice there is a burning piece of coal on his belly. We pull him up and brush of the coal that had gone through 4 layers of clothing. As everything quiets down a bit, the Air Force guy is standing over on my right.... The Naval Officer who is wildly losing the drinking contest, is in his face about how the Navy is still gonna kick the Air Forces ass that night. She instantly passes out falling face first into the Air Force guy, which takes them both down on to a chair which promtly explodes. She was laying right on top of him, and we were all dude you OK? Immediatly, thrust both thumbs straight up in the air. Which was a freaking crack up... Needless to say the Air Force won that night. These are some of the stories that will keep memories alive about one of the coolest dropzones around.

I am buying a Sony HC-1 video camera. Bonehead makes a generic box as usual. Cookie doesn't have anything to fit it. Is there anyone out there who makes a composite top mount box that fits the Sony HC-1 camera? I have a freefly video helmet with the oldschool clam shell style that bonehead made, that was molded to my PC-9. What I am looking for is a molded composite box... that is for the HC-1, not the sono tube, fit all, that bonehead is trying to fill the market with. Let me know if you have anything.

Our Dz just raised it's jump ticket price from $21 to $22 last weekend! And our Sunday morning 1st load at 8am went from $14 to 14,000 to $15 to 14,000, still a good price for a early morning wake up jump...

I couldn't agree with you more! I lived in a small rural town (where all the illegals seem to migrate to). About 5 years ago, our community was "OVERRUN" with illegal immigrants due to farming. Within 5 years, our beautiful small rural town has turned into a "Welfare" type town. I worked in the Emergency Room at the only Hospital in this town... Well needless to say, they quickly figured out that they could not be "Refused" treatment, so they came to the ER for everything from a cold to having babies, and never paid 0.01 cent. The totally learned how to work the system and 90% of them would give a different name everytime they would come in & what was really funny is that they "ALL" seemed to live in the same house.. Well to make a long story short, the only hospital in this small town closed down due to financial reasons, because of "Self Pay" patients (Illegals) who don't have SS#'s, No way of holding them responsible for their bills, etc! I grew up in this town, & I am so pissed that the illegals are destroying what use to be one of the best places to live!

I totally agree with you! But I was wondering "If" there were DZ's that had a set age limit... The post that I read in the General Discussion forum, one person stated that there "DZ" had age limits for beginning the AFF Program and I had never heard this before & was just wondering... Thanks !
-
I was reading some posts & they were discussing the age limit for AFF Students. The reason I am asking about this, is recently we had an elderly gentleman (about 70 yrs old) stopped by the DZ & was wanting to go through the AFF Program! I think it is awesome that he wants to Skydive, but I am just a little concerned! Do other DZ's have age limits or is it just left up to the AFF Instructors to make sure they are able to perform all requirements in a acceptable manner before they take them up???

I don't feel that people should "Have" to have medical insurance before skydiving, but I think people ARE made aware of the dangers of skydiving & by signing the waivers have chosen of their own free will to do it anyway. A friend of mine was injured 2 weeks ago, he is still in the hospital, & he has "NO INSURANCE".. His bill is already at $70,000 plus! And yes.. this will cause him a financial hardship for a long time!
-
A friend of mine, who injured himself a couple weeks ago, has no insurance & is still in the hopsital... He said he was going to sell his gear to help pay the medical bills, I told him not to bother, the money he would get for the rig would not even pay the room charge for one day at the hospital.. I'm sure his bills are at about $60 - $70,000 about now! I wish people who skydive, would think how important it is to have medical insurance, even if you have a high deductible.. It would of been better to have to dish out $2,000 instead of $70,000!
