My cats totally do NOT understand daylight savings time! They woke me up an hour early yesterday and tried to again today!

Santa Lost a Ho- The Christmas Jug Band.

Thanks for that! I knew it was odd- never happened to me before in all those years when I was spending a lot more time on the site than I do now!

Why woolite? These suits are designed to withstand high freefall speeds, openings and rough landings. Surely, yours can survive a washing maching and real detergent. When I wash my jumpsuits, I use regular detergent and oxy clean. One pre-wash/ soak cycle, then a regular wash with cold water. I do NOT put them in the dryer. I have never had any problems. The colors are good as new and any wear and tear is from use, not cleaning. (My RW suit has some glittery fabric on it, and the glitter has rubbed off my sleeves from people taking grips.....) Jumpsuits (and wingsuits) should be made well enough to withstand a regular machine wash. If they aren't, you are buying from the wrong manufacturer. If you keep treating your wing suit like a delicate silk garment, then get used to the smell. (Most of those delicate silk blouses get pretty stinky too........)

I tend to wait too long in between cuts but I trust my hairdresser completely. I tell him to cut off the split ends, as much as he thinks he has to. My hair always looks healthier and better when he is finished.

Maybe my fat fingers trying to view and navigate on my phone? just odd ........ Thanks for the reply .......

Maybe the costs are different now, but back when I did AFP (which is what my DZ offered) I did a little research / cost comparison. For the student, the cost for either complete student program was about the same because those initial 2 instructor AFF jumps are pretty expensive. So, basically, an AFP student gets more jumps and more instruction for about the same amount of money and can finish up the program ready for an A license without paying for additional coached jumps. I also think starting off with a tandem or 2 is a good idea because that first freefall can be pretty overwhelming and no amount of ground training can really prepare you for that.

So I was checking my private messages- something I have not done in quite a while and I saw 2 outgoing "friend" requests (actually 4 because both were duplicated) that I did not send. I am hardly ever on this site, haven't gone into messages in ages, and no one else could have done it either ...... Any idea what could have happened?

Just plain sudafed does the trick for me, and works for scuba too .... Too bad you you need to sign your life away and will most likely end up on a government watch list when you buy it but so far I haven't seen anything else that works as well.

I'm thinking Skaggle. A gaggle of skydivers .......

You really are bored, aren't you? I guess I am too! Lol Where I work, they used to provide bottled water in individual bottles. In addition to drinking the water while I was working, I would routinely grab one for my ride home or to take to the gym with me. Most people did this. I don't think the company had a problem with it. I once saw a co-worker take an entire case-24 bottles- home for the weekend because she was having a party. She saw nothing wrong with that! Even worse, she made one of our male co-workers her accomplice because she couldn't carry it by herself! Now we have water coolers instead of individual bottles.

Actually Billy, now that I think about it, one of them could have still been approaching when the main group was breaking off. That makes a little more sense given that you could see the breakoff from the ground and you could see that one canopy did not deploy with the rest. So, I stand corrected. It was a long time ago and I wasn't on the load. It just seemed like you were questioning Windsor's account. I don't know him, but I was there taking everything in from the ground and his story lines up with what I remember. It was my home dz and I had a lot of good friends on the record attempts, some who were axed pretty early on. It was the most intense week of skydiving I have ever seen.
-
Perhaps Winsor meant that she moved into his slot. The ax was swinging and a lot of people were being moved around and substituted. As I remember, it did not happen on the first day but it did happen fairly early in the attempts- maybe I am wrong about that but that is what I remember. And I believe the collision occurred while they were approaching the formation, not break off. I was on the ground watching from my trailer. I will never forget it. The stunned silence in the campground immediately after. And walking into the hangar a little bit later knowing that someone went in, not knowing who and essentially just looking for missing faces ........ That is the harsh reality of this sport. I didn't know her, but I have heard only good things about her. RIP. edited to add: The 19th was a Sunday, it was the 2nd or 3rd day of the attempts but probably the first day they put the full load up together. I believe they spent the first day or two working with the 60ish person "base".

Were you insulted because you weren't initially invited? Or were you insulted because your boss reached out to you personally and invited you and your wife to the party since there were now more openings? It sounds to me like he was totally honest about the situation and extended a genuine invitation to you. If you did not like the circumstances, you should not have told him you would go. Which is more rude?

Ever use a treadmill or ellyptical next to someone who dines on curry 99% of the time. Not much can smell worse than old curry and BO together!

I broke my baby toe almost 20 years ago getting out of bed! At the time, I was a brand new skydiver jumping pretty much every single weekend! I feel your pain! And I hate to tell you this, but even now it aches whenever it is cold or rainy or the weather is a bit unstable. It was aching last night for no apparent reason.

Missing you still, Jen!
-
How funny- we watched All in the Family and MASH together in our living room as a family- but I wasn't allowed to watch Saturday morning cartoons or have a Barbie doll! (that said, I don't remember the shoe/ sock episode............)

I agree 100%. Great post.

Listened to it again yesterday. WXRT in Chicago plays it every year on Thanksgiving- twice. Once around 11am and again at 6pm just in case you missed it or need another dose. Guess it gives the DJ a nice long break too!
-
There's no Jack in the Box in Chicago. Are you sure it wasn't a White Castle?
-
This wasn't the first time and it won't be the last - your post made me smile and cry at the same time. Thinking of Jenny has that affect on me. I miss her more than words can say.

Didn't feel ready/ didn't want to exit- isn't that pretty much the same thing? The TI had no idea why she was clinging to the plane. I still think she was being extremely gracious in the interview. She seems like an amazing lady!
-
I'm saying that she was extremely gracious in the interview, but it was pretty clear from the video that she did not want to exit.
-
You don't pay attention very well. She wanted to exit, she was just having trouble getting her leg into position. She obviously did not want to exit- she was clinging to side of the plane- her hands were pried off at least 3 times that I saw, maybe more. I don't care what she said in the interview.
