In case anyone finds this old thread and wants to get more info on the Burning Man camp known as Burning Sky. Our site has moved to: http://www.burningsky.org

Another bit of information... there will not be any walkup jumpers this year. You must have bought into a full camp share in order to jump from the plane. Once again, this is NOT a boogie. If you have any questions drop me an email -- shane AT aerialsoul DOT com.

Yes, the BurningSky theme camp will be at BurningMan 2003. This event is not a boogie; think of it more as a series of aerial exhibitions in front of 30,000 people. The BurningSky site which was posted earlier in this thread has the info you need - Read the FAQs, First Timers Guide, and the last few newsletters for info. Then contact me if you are interested. http://www.aerialsoul.com/burningsky
  4. Thanks for the info. For those looking for Pelican cases, check out eBay, there are several for under $100. I've decided to try out a DJ LP case -- they are hardsided, foam lined and a decent size. I should be able to fit my cameras and helmet in it. It's not real cheap but not super expensive -- case for $55 and probably $12-15 for extra foam.
  5. I'm searching for a case for my video and still cameras (and maybe even the helmet too). Does anyone have a solution that they think is wonderful? I've seen a few Pelican cases that had a nice setup. And I've seen one or two cases for the helmet and cameras, but don't know if they were custom made or not. Tell me what you are using.
  6. I've been buying my DV tapes from B&H Photo in NY from their online store www.bhphotovideo.com. They have the best price I've found on the 60 min Sony Excellent w/ Memory tapes.

    Burning Man!

I'll clarify some info on our plans for Burning Man 2002. The SkyPeople are certainly going back this year and our plans are bigger and our group is growing. Our site is called BurningSky (www.aerialsoul.com/burningsky) -- it has pics and details of our camp plans - both theme camp and aerial art. New info is added often. The requirements for jumping are a C license (and you should feel comfortable landing at altitude - 4000 ft.) We have secured the plane -- Charles Bryan's King Air and are now accepting payments for Shares of the Plane. A Share equals 6 "rides" in the plane -- for a skydive or an observation ride. If you are interested in going to BurningMan and joining the BurningSky camp: 1 - read all the info on www.burningman.com about the festival. this is not your average festival. 2 - Check out www.aerialsoul.com/burningsky for Camp Plans. 3 - Read the recent newsletter on the BurningSky site to find out where to mail in your money. 4 - Buy your BM ticket (tickets.burningman.com) -- they are currently $185 now. 6 - Sign up for the BurningSky email list -- go to www.yahoogroups.com and search for BurningSky. You can read past emails to see some history of our plans. let me know if you have any questions. burn on, shane
