I'm looking for a new lens for my Rebel XT. I shoot tandem video and i use a .43 on my video camera. when i used a 35mm camera i shot with a 24mm fixed lens to save on weight and length of lens. Now i use the kit lens (18-55mm) and i want to up grade. what is the best to use? fixed or zoom? brand? size? i dont want to spend a fortune or add any more weight than i have too. i'm looking for the experts advice.

A Jumper suing a DZ. Should other DZ's ban this jumper?
skydver replied to ypelchat's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
YUH THINK......... every waiver is about the same. in a nut shell it says if you're intent on trying to kill your self....we will help. every pack job you look at this orange square panel thats tells you this sport will kill you, or at least seriously hurt you and yet we pay money to attempt suicide every chance we get. i am an adult. i make my own decisions. if i get hurt or die then so be it. it is my responsibility to decide if the equipment is dangerous or if the airplane/dz looks like an unsafe operation. if it does i go somewhere else. but its my decision, and my responsibility..would i sue? HELL NO..would i let a jumper that sued another dz jump at my dz? HELL NO..... -
im the only bird at my dz "blue sky adventures" but i do travel to skydive carolina to flock when i can get the camera off my head and there are several birds there

last weekend i shot several tandem videos and also 4way team practice. on one of the tandem videos the interview, the stuff in the plane, the landing, and the post dive interview was great. everything in freefall was black. i use a cam-eye2 and typicaly i put the camera in stanby w/ the cameye when i am in the plane. on the next dive, again a tandem skydive, i cycled the camera w/ the power switch and used the cameye only as a moniter to know it was recording. this time it recorded everything but during playback i got heavy black lines (horz.) across the screen and when i rewound it it worked fine.the next time i played it the lines were back temporialy again. any ideas what is up with this camera and what i can do to correct it? HELP

have you tried spacing up the trv? is it in a box or jst mounted to the helment. if its a box space it up w/ a couple of flat washers and then tape the gap to prevent line snag. turning the still camera upside down is safe enough but you may shift the lense more into the picture due to the off position of the lense on the camera body, besides if you mount the camera upside down you have to tell the film processor to process the film differently so the pictures dont turn out upside down (try telling that to the walmart developer you will get the most confused looks)
