texas check-in!!! I watched part of the DVD the other day. Brought back a ton of memories. Great times for sure!

damn this one hurts. You were always the first to greet me when walking up to the DZ. Always a huge smile, and the biggest bear hugs. You lit up the way in. You knew everyone by name that ever jumped at Spaceland. You took pride in this. You took pride in everything you did. You were seriously one of the hardest workers and as said above, that smile never left your face. This entire thing makes me sick at my tummy. I feel for you. I miss you. after my 3rd jump (1st hand held. first 2 jumps were PCA sub 300) i made a comment to a friend of mine (very experienced jumper) that after I opened I felt 'dazed' and kinda like 'oh yeah, gotta fly this thing'....his response "we have all been there, but eventually it will turn from 'oh yeah gotta fly this thing' to 'oh shit..it actually worked!'" he then explained how he as well expects a 180 every jump and when it opens on heading it's relief. From that point - instead of praying for an on heading opening, i began expecting a 180. i think that kept me alive on jump 5 (when i had my first 180 off a tower (1 sec delay - damn that A looked scary from 20 feet away)

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION WEEKEND NOV. 25-26 FREE ORGANIZING, BBQ, BEER, DISCOUNTED JUMPS $$$ 18 $$$ Big-ways, High Altitude Jumps (Sat. 8:30 AM Briefing) Spaceland would like to thank everyone for a great year. In turn we would like to show our appreciation (Nov 25-26) to our great customers. For this fun weekend, we are putting together formation loads (multiple aircraft) and possibly do some cool 40-ways. So it’s important for you to tell all your friends to come out and do some organized big-ways with Tom Jenkins. This could be your time to shine for our upcoming Texas State Record in April 07. This will allow people to practice their floating and diving skills for a warm-up to next years TSR. This is going to be a fun, learning environment. Leah will be organizing smaller ways, teaching people different exit positions, freefall skills and other techniques. If you want to do some high altitude skydives, come on out and lets jump from 20,000 feet. You must be C- license qualified to make high altitude jumps. These jumps will be an additional charge over the regular ticket price. Saturday evening will consist of Hooper smoking up some briskets and sausage and Rich cooking up his famous BBQ chicken and beans. Come out to Spaceland for some cool skydives and a nice BBQ dinner on the house! Please tell your friends. The more people we have out here, the more fun we will have.

I'm posting to inform you all that Houston will soon be loosing one of its best. Brittany (Brits17) will be pulling out tomorrow with a loaded up UHaul to start her journey to California where she is relocating to. I personally wish her the best and know that this is only the start of the next chapter in her life. Brit - I love ya girl. In the past 2 years you have become the sister I always dreamt of having. We've been through a lot together, good & bad, and I wouldn't trade it for the world. *MEOW!!! *sappy - movin on* haha! If you would like to come out and kick it with us prior to her departure - We'll be at Jillians off of I-10 around 8pm tonight (10/26). Meet around the bowling alley bar.
