My old tat artist is out of Jersey..he is awesome..just paying to travel to get worked on sucked and he didn't come to conventions down here enough for me to keep going...Now I use a guy out of Hot Rod here in Houston who's f'n amazing!

  8. And in return, check out http://www.skydivingmovies.com The site is free to register and you can download and view clips from various people...really cool stuff! (Oh, and don't worry..the guy that runs the site is way cool..so no worries about spam/etc)
  9. Close to 5000feet ASL I'll double check that..but I remember it being close to 5g when I jumped there back in November. Skydive Moab has a 4,500-foot field elevation *Edited: I double checked a few posts from some others that I know jump out at those two...they quote it at 4500feet MSL
  10. That's awesome...I tell ya...just watching that video I got chills...what I would do to one day accomplish just bits of what he did in his lifetime. I bet the stories this dz.commer could tell would have people on the edge of their seats.
  11. My friend who use to climb regularly was telling me about this style called figure 4 or 8 climbing??? It is insane! Lets see if you guys can actually figure out what I'm trying to get to: Said that the climber actually locks in (ax's or whatever you guys use) with their hands (he had seen it done on ice) and then throw their legs one at a time over their arms and then work from there, next move more with your hands..get a good grip then kick your leg over your arm again to regrip with the other hand... The guy he was telling me about was doing this on ice inside a cave on the ceiling if I remember correctly...the way he described it all I could invision was a double jointed spider hehe! I also watched a video a while back that blew me away...The guy in the video was doing some insane climbs and ropejumping off of the cliffs he was climbing..Dan Osman if I remember correctly...that guy.. shit..HE had balls. Interesting hehe: http://www.ancilnance.com/html/danger.html
  12. I dunno, dude. Climbing a wall can be 4 days of total, abject terror. Getting through that takes a lot more than any skydive I've ever done. I gotta agree. I have never been rock climbing, but when I went caving with some friends back in July I was scared out of my wits. The ledges I was having to shimmy across, the drop offs below me, the climbs I had to do...it was f'n unbelievable...I had never been that scared before in my life (But in a good way..especially once I survived it all!)...It honestly intimidated me more than my first base jump. (yes, I know that is probably strange)..but we didn't have safety ropes / harnesses and the thought of falling / sliding down one of the crevaces really got my edrenaline pumping..
  13. I seriously have been looking into it for a while now...Caving got me thinking I would like it...Just need to find someone to take me under their wing hehe
  14. Agreed...if others are HD I always have to fly a tighter sit (faster)..I was speaking in relation to jumping with other head up flyers...my bad.
  15. Agreed! I guess this would depend on where / who you are flying with. When I started sit flying, I was averaging 155-160mph...I started getting some jumps in with Anomaly and they worked with me to slow down to an average of around 145mph or so....It puts it in a nice range to where I can speed up or slow down but fly comfy with most others. Yes..some say I'm slow..but then you go back to my DZ and I'm considered a bit fast...It's all relative. 160 just seems too fast to be your "average" fall rate.
  16. I may have to make a trip up there...are you ready?! hehe!
  17. Yeah..she got it there. But they must be biigggg bear hugs. Rabbit is the coolest pilot in the world!! *cough cough..I mean the coolest next to Steve of course!...* SEND HIM BACK!!!!! *Edited to add: Welcome back, Steve! See ya in a couple weeks
  18. I went out to Spaceland yesterday to help get things back in order. I was so happy to see that nothing was damaged..but it was strange seeing that perfect weather and no skydivers in the air....
  19. Great news, Steve! Let us all know if they remove the restrictions and we can jump tomorrow!
  20. 11:05 pm: Still not much going on. Got a little bit of rain, but it wasn't heavy at all. WInds have calmed down and we might see a gust of 15 mph every so often..but that's about it. *Edited to add: A friend who is about 10 minutes away told me that a few transformers have blown out around his area but so far he's been lucky to keep his power.
  21. NW side off of 290: Agree on the sunset...beautiful peach/pink & light purple...gorgeous! Winds are starting to pick up gusting to a little over 30 mph...trees are bending down and dust/sand is blowin around.. No rain just yet, but it is getting dark and the clouds are rollin in. This is just the beginning..*cracks another bud light* hehe
  22. Cypress area...290 & Jones I-I CAP'N!
