  9. 2 WEEKENDS FROM NOW JANUARY 29TH, 30TH BIG WAY CAMP HELICOPTER JUMPS AND RIDES TEAM BUILDING SEMINAR (SAT. NIGHT) BY WORLD CLASS SKYDIVERS This is a weekend you don’t want to miss. To kick off the 2005 season, we are having a Big-Way camp, helicopter jumps, and a team-building seminar (Sat night.) January 29-30 BIG WAY CAMP (40 WAY EVENT OPEN TO EVERYONE) Show up time is by 9:00a.m. All experience levels are welcome to this camp. The camp format allows for a lot of personal coaching to refine new skills or push one's envelope. World Team and Texas State Record Captains Tom Jenkins and Jack Berke as well as other top coaches will organize the camp. The theme of the camp is to start working in smaller groups and build to formation loads over the weekend. The camp will utilize Skydive Spaceland’s 3 Super Otter’s. The more participants we have the bigger the formation at the end of the weekend. The techniques that the camp will focus on are the skills necessary to build large formations using loops and whackers in the design. The camp will specifically cover: The Skydives: * exit techniques * diving and floating * the stadium set up * approaches * formation building * docking technique (red zone) * flying the formation * breakoff and tracking techniques for Big Way formations * flying your canopy in traffic The process of training will be the same successful approach used by Jack Berke and Tom Jenkins at the camps held at Skydive Spaceland, the Texas State Record, and working with the Thai World Team group. The camp will be conducted with the same positive-low pressure-fun atmosphere that works best to foster performance in us all. Come join us whether just starting big ways, looking to remain current, or have the opportunity to try new slots and skills and have your potential pushed a bit. We do reserve the right to keep those needing more focused individual training in smaller groups rather than progressing to larger groups if unsafe to do so. While you are here enjoying the Big-Way Camp, sign-up for some helicopter jumps. The Allouette II helicopter will be here for you to enjoy. It will take 4 jumpers to 4500’ in about seven minutes. All four jumpers can exit at one time. There is NO registration fee for all the events. Don’t want to jump out of the helicopter? No problem, you can take a ride instead and watch people jump out! So invite the family members out to enjoy a fun filled weekend of safe, extreme activity. TEAM BUILDING SEMINAR (SAT. NIGHT) (JAN. 29TH) World-class skydivers Jack Berke and Tom Jenkins are giving a 4-way seminar Saturday night after the sunset load. This is a great introduction for all you belly-fliers wanting to learn more about team building and 4 way relative work skydiving. It is also a great refresher for people already on 4-way teams that are looking to better their team structure. This seminar is also open to everyone interested in learning. This year, Skydive Spaceland is hosting two TSL meets (4 way and 8 way) one of which being the championship. So…if you want discounted jumps and a good learning opportunity with your friends, put together a 4-way team and make a 100-jump commitment at Spaceland. This will qualify you for our awesome team jump rates (just a thought). (This was taken from the Spaceland Newsletter) Anyone else going?
