y'know... I always wanted to make a comment about that sig... It bothered me every time I saw it. Many thanks to Joshua, our avocado-loving friend, for bravely stepping forward and clearing this issue up once and for all. Anvilbrother, I expect to see a draft of your new, revised sigline on my desk by lunch. K Thanx. -Ghetto "The reason death cannot frighten me, is because life has cured me of fear." Of all the smoothest things that I've ever done...
bert_man replied to bert_man's topic in The Bonfire
Losing my wallet was not one of them. Does anyone know how to use a credit card to pay a bill after the card has been reported lost and subsequently frozen? They say it will take 7-10 days to get a new card, and I would really really like to pay a particular bill, as this person has been waiting for some time. I cant give them cash because they do business in another country. I can't pay it with my personal debit, business debit, or business credit cards either, because they were also in my wallet, and hence, reported lost/stolen. Any ideas? -
Web designer here. If anyone needs some help with something, let me know. As my signature states, I'll do really cheap work to help out fellow skydivers/base jumpers

if you can't scan the picture, could you at least tell us what it looked like? What type of exit, what the jumper was wearing, yada yada.... -Ghetto "The reason death cannot frighten me, is because life has cured me of fear." Web Design Cleveland Skydiving

I just sit at my desk and bullshit all day. Somewhere in between all the bullshitting, I make websites which pays for my addiction. It's kind of funny... I often dont remember actually doing work, yet it gets done and I get paid. I wonder if working puts me in some kind of trance that makes me think i'm doing something else while i'm really working. Like today... I was really sick all day and just sat here watching skydiving movies on my computer, yet I designed a website for somebody and I really don't remember doing it. I just got an email back from them saying they liked it, and I was like "wtf? That looks pretty cool... I made that today?!?" -Ghetto "The reason death cannot frighten me, is because life has cured me of fear." Web Design Cleveland Skydiving

even though i've been hit by that trick countless times (under different disguises), that one still got me good. I had my music blasting across the whole house, and my eyes were 6 inches from the screen looking at the dude in the boat. I almost knocked the table over, and I think a feeble yelp escaped my throat. -Ghetto "The reason death cannot frighten me, is because life has cured me of fear." Web Design Cleveland Skydiving

New PF video: wingsuits @ Bridge Day 2005
bert_man replied to unclecharlie95's topic in Wing Suit Flying
It was pretty cool to see people taking wingsuits off the bridge. I was surprised that you actually got that much drive from such a low altitude. Then again, it was the time I ever saw a WS base jump at all. I also really liked the WS BASE seminar you did at the holiday inn. Quite informative. -Ghetto "The reason death cannot frighten me, is because life has cured me of fear." Web Design Cleveland Skydiving -

I'm going to second that motion. This was, without a doubt, the best weekend of my life as well. Jason, you and your staff organize a kickass event. Avery, you rule. I can't thank you enough for the free use of your gear and for your endless generosity. Big thanks to the guys that did the filming and photography as well. Before I made my first jump, I thought I knew what to expect. I guess the only thing that I was actually fully correct about was that it would change me forever and that I would continue to pursue it. The second jump was even more enlightening. There are no words to explain it, as only you people could possibly know. See you all at BD next year, and by then I hope to have made many more jumps! -Ghetto "The reason death cannot frighten me, is because life has cured me of fear." Web Design Cleveland Skydiving

Where's this huge discussion?

that second one is hilarious. The first one's OK too, but the cat doesnt seem too happy. Here's the human version of the second video... A compilation of people getting hit by cars!

Either it doesn't recognize Opera or my symbol is stuck behind all the damn 'E's in the midwest. IE sucks. Try making websites for it and you'll hate it even more. -Ghetto "The reason death cannot frighten me, is because life has cured me of fear." Web Design Cleveland Skydiving

What percentage of your annual income do you spend on skydiving?
bert_man replied to davedlg's topic in The Bonfire
probably 50-60% here. If you include travel expenses for boogies, canopies, wingsuits, jumpsuits, etc it might be close to 70%. If you include the cases of beer, that's about 80%. Then toss in all the times I've eaten out with skydiving buddies and it probably gets close to 90%. If you calculate how much more money I could make if I wasn't spending so much of my working time discussing how much I spend on skydiving on dz.com, and include the opportunity cost of my skydiving obsession, I'd say that I probably spend (or dont make) about 200% of my current income on skydiving. When the IRS finds out how much taxes I've paid over the last year and a half, I'll probably be in jail, spending 0% on skydiving -
Because it is considered an offense in all 50 states to spread phony dumb laws over the internet unless the author is using a laptop while standing naked in a cold shower. Furthermore, as hobbes mentioned, it is considered an offense in florida to shower naked, with or without a laptop.

I saw a show on the discovery channel last week that actually mentioned that scientists are finding that muscles and even organs can store limited amounts of actual memory. There have been documented cases where a person received a donated organ and inherited a chunk of the personality of the donor. Sometimes, when the donor's death was mentally or physically traumatizing, the patient even remembered the entire course of events that lead to the donor's death. In one case they mentioned, a kid had committed suicide by a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, and the woman who received his liver was able to remember the last conversation that he had with his girlfriend, and was able to sing along with all the underground rap lyrics he had listened to, and she even liked them. (this 40-year-old lady originally hated rap) I guess the theory is that muscles and organs still have complicated networks of various types of nerve cells (many of the same cells that are found in the brain) and these systems are capable of developing the same connections that the brain does, resulting in 'cellular memory' or something. I dunno. Maybe muscles do have memory?

Wow... they should make everyone memorize a map of the world before they are allowed into kindergarten. While those may possibly have been the dumbest people in our country, I must say that I like that old guy's plan: "We'll make a big glass crater outta the fuckin' middle east, for all I care"

I just took the coach course this weekend, and learned that as a Coach (without an AFF-I rating), it is actually against the BSR's for you to deploy a student.
