  1. Hey does anyone know about some people who contacted those scammers from Nigeria (and so on) telling them that they'd do what they want as long as they took pictures of themselves with stupid signs like. . . . . I love Cock . . . And stuff? Is there a permanent website for that? I was telling a friend about it, but I can't find it. Any help? Kim
  2. I just got an email from this jerk. Felt suspicious to me too. Glad I saw it in the forums when I did a search. Thanks.
  3. Does anyone know how I can get in touch with someone (preferably Dave) on how to take his rigger's course?
  4. Wish I would have known her. The personal info on her profile made me laugh. Kim
  5. This is the easiest forum to post to. No way am I gonna join some other lame geek website to post there! Anyhow, I have a PS2 and was playing a PS1 game with it. I can't save the game! Anyone know why? It says the card is unrecognized. It is a playstation 8mb card and I have 2 in separate slots. Is it just a playstation thing between the 1 and 2 games and decks? Kim
  6. Anyone know how to change the character in San Andreas? I know in Vice City you could be Candy Suxx and so on. Can it be done in San Andreas game? Kim
  7. I am very friendly with my IE and he knew me fairly well before we got started with my rating so maybe my experience was different than most.
  8. Got it, it is because she isn't listed as Cartman's Mom, she is Liane! Thanks again! Kim
  9. Are you saying it is in the Ladder to heaven episode. I didn't see it in the transcript however I'll have to look harder then. Thanks Kim
  10. In which episode is Cartman's Moms saying "Bad Eric BAD!" We're working on a piece for our home DZ dvd and need to refer to this episode. Anyone?
  11. Do any other USPA national events have prizes?
  12. Wow I know this is an old thread, but I know the guy who did it. No student. It happened at the Ranch. I jump with the "low puller". Of course altitude awareness is a good thing. Sometimes we lose it. Did you check out the slider in the shadow on the ground. Isn't even down all the way. You know my buddy, if you ever meet him, has this ongoing ice breaker. He says he was 6' tall before that incident. Now hi is like 5'3" Love ya' F. Captain Kim
  13. Ah HA Road Blasters http://www.appolo.com/projects/roadblasterssitdown/roadblastersscr5.jpg
  14. I remember playing a game in the 80's in the arcade room. You sat in it and drove. Set in a kinda' terminator futuristic theme, you drove your car along the road that never went anywhere, dodged purple limousines, and shot at other vehicles on the road. Along the way, you would get either red or green orbs that powered you up, and a spaceship would drop some mechanism that you'd catch and it would morph your guns into something cooler. I'm still looking for the name, since I one day want to own the arcade. Road Warrior was it? Captain Kim
  15. USPA wrote me back on this comment about Femuring having canopy coaching as #1 on the list. Here it is. Hi Kim, USPA looked at a lot of incident and fatality report data, and met with many of the industry leaders in canopy design, flight, and coaching in an effort to reduce the number of canopy related fatalities and injuries we are seeing each year. The ad you have seen in Parachutist is the first part of a long term project aimed at improving the knowledge and training our members receive in canopy control and landing. While we did number the points, each point should be taken on its own merit. "Get professional canopy training" does not necessarily mean that you should go to a school and pay money for coaching, as much as it means learn all you can about canopy flight and landings from someone who knows what they are talking about. In essence you are getting professional training when you seek the advice of an S&TA or instructor, read incident reports, stay open to learning, etc. USPA is continuing to work on improving canopy control, and you will see a lot more work in this area from the USPA in the coming years. We hate to see so many members being injured or killed each year, especially under a good parachute. Please keep the input coming! We could use more from everyone! Let me know if you have any questions and I will be glad to help however I can. Regards, Jim Crouch Director of Safety and Training United States Parachute Association
  16. Lack of skill knowledge would cause you to femur, but it isn't the only thing. I'm just saying that putting canopy coaching as a number one method to not femur is not the way to prevent it from happening. Maybe not numbering the list would help that. But it certainly makes it look like that is the first thing people who want to be safe should think about. I disagree. Captain Kim
  17. I'd say the #1 thing that has kept me safe is a neverending thirst for knowledge. Plenty of jumpers are okay with what they know, they don't watch safety seminars thinking they are no longer beginners and have nothing to learn. When I am on the ground and not jumping, I'm talking with S&TAs, other jumpers, and watching landings and approaches. Reading on DZ.com, reading incident reports. . . (didn't I mention this already?) These are the things that have kept me not only safe now, but will continue to save my ass. Constant learning. Captain Kim
  18. USPA has been inserting these "Femur is not a verb" ads into parachutist. A lot of the people I jump with have some things to say about it. Myself? . . . It seems from the way it is placed in the ad, that if you have enough money to pay for coaching, it will keep you out of harms way somehow. The rest of the list is fine enough, but I think professional coaching should not be number one. Thirsting for knowledge in canopy flying disciplines, and being open to learning in all situations from all people is what I think will benefit a jumper the most. Whether he gets coaching or not is bull. Sure coaching has its benefits, but to be safe, it isn't mandatory, much less should it be the #1 way to keep from femuring. Talking with different jumpers, S&TAs, reading up on safety and incidents on DZ.com, learning to critique canopy approaches, and landings, watching good pilots, being aware. . . All of these things could be in the nuber one slot easily. Having had some canopy coaching myself, I can say it has helped, however it was definitely not the number one thing that has kept me safe. I want to know what everyone else thinks. Captain Kim
  19. Not the lowest I've seen, but pretty comical. Thanks for sharing. Captain Kim
  20. I was really happy with the staff at AZ. They were really helpful and obviously got my complaint to the right people. A very professional group at AZ. Thanks for everyone's feedback on my post. I can't wait to have more fun there next year. Captain Kim
  21. Shame it wasn't as big as last year. I wonder what happened. Captain Kim
  22. Was anyone at the bonfire this holiday 2005 in Eloy early enough to see this: You know every year Eloy gets a bonfire going (weather permitting). This year burnables were left in a pile in the desert for days. Long enough for some rabbits (and who knows what else) to make a home within. About 1/2 hour to 45 mins into the burning, my boyfriend and I moseyed on out, and the animals were fleeing everywhere. They were trapped in the raging inferno scrambling for a way out. Some who made it were panicking to get their family safe as well. Running around to one side then the other, darting closer and further away before giving up and leaving completely. About 30 more minutes I stood there watching them scatter, and when I thought it was all over, a disturbing sight caught my eye. Limping, black and suffering, a rabbit hobbled out of what I thought was the end of the gruesome scene, but I was wrong. I took off my shirt and walked up to it in an attempt to take it away from the flames (not planning my next step). The fire marshal (that is what I could gather from his authority with the fire truck and all) beat me to it, and picked up my pathetic friend to take him away. After talking with him a few seconds I found he was going to lovingly give it the axe, so I thanked him. I went to manifest the next morning to tell them about my feelings and thought I was the only one who complained, but I can't tell what anyone else did. They were very gracious and professional, and seemed unaware of what happened, and I thanked them for their courtesey too. My arguement was that there were kids there about 5 years old there, and even though people may think it isn't cool for them to see that, I think it sucks for ANYONE to see. Screw that, it sucks for anyone to contribute to that mess. The people who were there were laughing at it and found it amusing. (As I'm sure some of you will by reading this). But the mojority of the crowd showed up later and missed the "action". Only about 30 of us were there for the fleeing firey rabbits. Who needs a bonfire the size of a house with melting bunnies running around. I'm sure when given the choice over flaming hares, and a smaller fire without carnage, we'd pick the smaller fires. At least we'd be able to be close enough to ENJOY the flames, not have to stand 200 feet away! Captain Kim
