  1. I dont understand what you mean. Since when does a terminal reserve opening kill you? If you didnt have a SkyHook you would be going just as fast when your reserved opened. Warwick University Skydiving Club
  2. as far as i am aware just turn up ;) Warwick University Skydiving Club
  3. yea, thats probably the better suggestion ;) Warwick University Skydiving Club
  4. Your best bet is find your way to banbury and then get the bus towards brackley. Speak to the bus driver and ask him to drop you off outside the turn off to the dropzone. From there its a good 15 minute walk along the track to the DZ but stick your thumb out and a kind jumper will usually give you a lift from there. Warwick University Skydiving Club

  7. i see your point, but to be honest, what could be more difficult or full proof than looking at a little window and checking the colour of the kill line? Warwick University Skydiving Club

  9. Hey Firstime, I think your quoting the wrong bit there. The bit that makes this guy an asshat and a 100 jump wonder was the following response: Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
  10. Hey Paul, Am I right in assuming for the 4-way, that the whole dive pool (including blocks) will be used? Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
  11. hey ross, nice to hear your having fun Sounds like the party was a real blast, would have loved to come, hehehe. See you around. Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
  12. since when has that been a 'UK' dropzone? Warwick University Skydiving Club
  13. my first reaction is usually to pull that individual to one side, once out of ear shot of said instructor and explain why I believe the contrary might be true; using evidence both for and against so that the individual can make up their own informed decision. To be honest it doesnt happen to often and then only usually with instructors from other dropzones where things can understandably be taught or interpreted differently. 15. hey steve, no sure if you meant me, but your definatly not one of the ones i hate In fact I dont think I have every met a coach I personally didnt like. I was refering to comments I have had from some of the people I have coached. Marc
  16. Some people prefer different instructors based on teaching style and personality. I know some instructors who people love and others hate for those very reasons. Warwick University Skydiving Club

  18. Hey Paul, Been playing with lasers in my lab today and realised you could use the same sort of half silvered mirror coating on your windows to allow people to see themselves, yet for observers to look in without any problems as we do for laser interferometry. Giz a job

Hey Paul, I would be up for an interview. I assume your looking for tunnel instructors? Regards, Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
  20. Hey Bill, I am sure this has been asked before somewhere, but I cant find it. I bought a new rig a couple of months ago which I am sad to say was not a RW rig However I would very much like the advantages of the skyhook without having to buy again. Is it currently possible to get a skyhook installed on my current rig? Regards, Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
  21. all a question to opinion and personal preference, but I went with a bev suit and could not be happier. If you are quite a fast faller deffinetly go with the majik cordura mega bootie modification ;) There are also afterburners for the really heavy people. Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
  22. All I can add after visiting the bedford tunnel the other day is this: 1. When they say their pricing structure will be a pleasent surprise they are certainly not kidding. 2. The place looks like the inside of a space ship, i.e really really cool. 3. The tunnel is frickin massive, big enough to have a party way going. 4. The guy running the place, Paul, is one nice chilled out dude. 5. I can personally not wait to give the tunnel a go as I only live an hour away ,hehehe, Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
  23. Hey, Its just called a barrel roll and its not difficult to do 1 or two revolutions, but any more and it becomes VERY difficult (i.e to mantain direction, vertical and horizontal speed). It is normally used as a technique to check air space around, below and above yourself before deployment (e.g tracking dives where seperation can become an issue or as nick said). Oh yea, and it looks cool on camera. Most FS & FF coaches can show you how to do this if you are interested. Regards, Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
  24. Hydro, come over to hinton on a weekend and I will be more than happy to do that for you. I try to make myself available for coaching as much as possible whenever im around. Blue skies, Warwick University Skydiving Club
  25. hey dude, Any type of form fitting glove which is not too thick will more than likely be suitable (golf glove sort of thickness). Most dropzone will more than likely sell gloves for a decent price. If you are unsure however best to check with an instructor before using any type of glove. Marc Warwick University Skydiving Club
