I'm pretty sure the Epicene has been out for at least 6 months...
-
They both have a ton of forward speed - that's what they're made for. As such, they're more difficult to fly XRW with than other floatier suits. That forward speed also needs to be kept in check when flying with other big suits. I think the question comes more down to your skill level relative to your intended use.

need advice for flysight set up for wingsuit flights
surfers98 replied to float's topic in Wing Suit Flying
Michael - it might be helpful to transpose some of the info from the forum threads on to the flysight.ca website. Just a thought. -
Guilty.

I second what JPEngel said: C1 and C2 are totally different suits, not even in the same class. Also like JPEngel said, I know a couple BASE ws pilots who actually prefer the C1 over the Aura. To answer your question more directly, yes I would definitely consider buying a C1 (assuming it fit very well and was a good deal).

non free fly friendly rig for wingsuiting?

+1. 8'-9' bridle is fine, longer creates problems. Dynamic corners are a great idea if they can be retrofitted to help reduce the likelihood of line-twists. -

I have a beat-up old Vector 2 with velcro riser covers and it works fine. Just mind the velcro degrading and try to stay off of your back. -
I never said it didn't work. I just said that some (not all) V4's and V5's have legwing oscillation/pressurization issues. The rest of my post was just poking fun at the brand wars. I think Vampires are excellent and agile suits. In fact, I'm looking forward to taking a V-Race for a flight sometime.

Charlie - I'm pretty sure the hole in the V4 & V5 is intended to make the legwing violently oscillate at high speed and during steep dives. It was reportedly a design mole, planted in Robi's head many years ago by Matt & Mike to induce us to defect to their products. It worked.

I second what Scotty-Bob, Heath, and Jewbag said. After a line-twist in my V4 that necessitated use of my arm-wing cutaway to avert a pretty sketchy situation, I can unequivocally say that instant access to risers would've been more beneficial. Following the near cliff-strike, it also took months for Phoenix-Fly to send me a replacement arm-wing cutaway cable, despite multiple emails to Jarno, Macca & Robi. I am now a Squirrel convert. And no, Alygator, lifting my legs in my V4 doesn't get me anywhere near my risers or toggles and I have long arms.

North County jumpers rejoice! I'm stoked to spend more time jumping than driving for a change. Count me in as one more prospective customer. -
Anyone aware of any Holiday festivities @ Skydive San Diego?

I can appreciate the nature of Buzz & Andy's business relationship, but that doesn't mean I'm any less disappointed to see Andy go. He's put in so much hard work improving the DZ; nobody will forget that anytime soon. I'd like to extend my best wishes to Andy wherever he goes. I'll also continue to support my local DZ. Skydiving may be a sport but it's also a business. See you all at the DZ. Blue skies, Brian -
One more jumper here hailing from Vancouver. I live in San Diego now, and jump here at Skydive San Diego but I've jumped at both Abbotsford & Pitt Meadows. How're our local DZ's up there doing?
-
Kelly, this season has been abysmal, there's hardly any snow at Whis. But if you still want to go, I have a condo up there sitting empty right now.
