Skydiving IS addictive! But not that much that you would start to lie, and why should he lie if you never asked him to quit. Sounds to me that it's not the skydiving that's the problem, but maybe something else. Maybe he just doesn't want to include you in his skydiving world or have you hanging around the dz for some reason. I don't want to sound to hard in this matter, but the lies are there for some reason... Summertime I wear a pair of motocross gloves made of thin neoprene layer and small grippy rubberdots on fingertips, nice snug fit with excellent feel to 'em. Alpinestars make them. Wintertime I have found thick neoprene gloves with rubberpalm to be the best. Looks kinda like divers gloves, but I don't know if that's what they are. Excellent grip in them. It's not so much about insulating your hands from the cold, it's better not to keep the air blowing through them. But I live in Sweden, not florida or something... I never jump without gloves, but my hands go numb very quickly. It's not a pleasant feeling to be on 1000 meters and not knowing if you're holding the pilot or not. Trust me on that one. I've heard that you can take your gear as carry on, but you have to leave it up front with the pilots...maybe not to scare other passengers or to give 'em stupid ideas, or keep you from 30000 feet of freefall...and if you see the pilot running down the cabin with your gear, you're phuked. And I recently saw "charlies angels" onboard a flight, some scenes were missing, guess what scenes?! maybe for the same reasons... chris How would you like too stick with me How much do you love to freefall

I do believe that scuba diving is more dangerous than skydiving, and maybe it really is, I don't know. But the dangers of scuba diving is more easily hidden from the general public that doesn't know all about ascent rates ,depths, tiny bubbles in yer blood and whatever that makes it dangerous. But they do know if you fall from an airplane with no chute/bad chute, you will die! Wow, seven weeks at home and seven weeks without dz.com. Got some 7000 new posts to go through, but I think I won't bother...I post my own instead :) Did over 50 jumps, first 8 Way from a 206 and 186, finally reached jump 100 the jump after the 8 way, got new car and girlfriend was nice the whole time :) and good weather as well... So it's not the most pleasant thing to be back at work, but it feels good to be here again. And oh, don't try this, I did: Gf asks what I've planned for the last weekend together and I reply: Maybe do some jumps. She says: But it's our last weekend together, after that we are gonna be apart for 5 weeks. And stupid chris(that's me!) replies: But hunny, I'm gonna be apart from my chute for 5 weeks too... That's right...cutaway while you still can, subtle... This is by far the most(well, second at least)addictive place to hangaround. ..phuk it..I'm going home! But I'm really surprised of the answers i've got...most of them make sense and are mature...is this really the hardcore skydive forum I'm been hooked up on for the past two weeks?! I do believe that I'm not "alive" here working, but I do know how happy I am being home with the things I love - g/f(put that first i case she sees it), skydive, bikes, friends...I will not be locked up at work when I can spend time tearing through the sky or make sweet love... As for the car...all my previous cars value added together won't even come close to how muck I paid for my gear...and I jump an old anxiety Vector with a Raider! And I'm tired of crappy unreliable pieces of junk... Guess I have to postpone the kitchen to fall...I know my g/f will understand. She has to. Already ordered new car for appr. 18K$... Loosing approx. 3500$ not working... Jumpticket to 3000M approx. 10$... Beer at dz approx. 1.5 $...
