  1. I just returned from a road trip that took me to FL. I got a chance to get some tunnel coaching with Fabian. Did you get a chance to see Fabian and Julianna in the tunnel? Unbelievable! Even saw Joao (sp?) in on a three-way with them. Sitting in the tunnel is freakin hard!

Good luck dude. I had no debt before skydiving, now I seem to stay in the red to feed the addiction.
  3. Congrats man. I just put the first four jumps on my "new" crossfire. I'm highly impressed by everything the canopy has shown me so far, opens great (had one funky subterminal opening), glides fast and flat, and love the landings. Whoever made the comment about toggle positions in various modes of flight hit it on the money. The inputs are noticeably different than on PD's stuff. Hope you enjoy your stilletto as much as I dig the new crossfire.

I've met Snowflake at SSM, and he's a riot, one hell of a guy. I just wish I could make it down to SSM when he's out there. We've been supposed to sitfly together since before he got his A. I might be moving to Houston sometime in May, so I look forward to making some loads with you all down there.
  5. Not skydiving related, but here goes. I had a morotcycle in Florida. The day after I bought it (before it was registered) some moron decided I'd look great as a hood ornament and rear ended me at a stoplight. So I thought GINXED would be a good plate (it was a GSX-R, and JINXED was taken). Screw that idea- it got stolen three weeks after I put the plate on.
  6. H-town has some very nice Boobie-gazing establishments.
  7. Me too. I wonder if there's any way to change my username to Erectified.
  8. What do they recommend for erectification. Not that it is a problem, I just wanted to say erectification.
  9. That's mother nature for you.
  10. You can't judge cold in FL by temp. 45 in FL doesn't feel like 45 anywhere else. 36 in FL probably feels like subzero elsewhere. My sympathies.
  11. Now cement mixers....are NASTY!!!!!! Everyone should do a cement mixer on their 21st. Kinda like a rite of passage.
  12. Third row, center pic. It's boobies like that that give me hope for the world. How's she dooin?
  13. Erectified......what a cool word.
  14. In that case, I'd go w/ Houston.
  15. Neither. Try Austin instead. Houston = too crowded Dallas = too pretentious 1. I used to live in Austin, and absolutely loved every minute of it. The people and the music really make the town. I've never been anywhere that quite has the "feel" of Austin. My sister just moved from Austin to Dallas and hates it. Houston just has way too much of everything (people, attitude, crime) for me. My stepsister lives in Miami, and everyone hates her. So there you go, Austin it is. 2. IMHO Austin (SSM) or Houston; all three have otters, but SDD just didn't do it for me. Austin is in closer proximity to the other two than they are to each other in case the wx is bad, or you feel like driving to a different dz. SSM's otter is a fast, comfortable ride to alt., and the people out ther kick ass. 3. Austin, period. Dallas and Houston have lots of hotties, but you said per capita. Austin has five different colleges, and around 100,000 college students. Given this fact and that it is considerably smaller than Dallas or Houston, it makes sense that there's a better ratio. 4. And the last, but certainly not the least reason to choose Austin is LESLIE!!
  16. Two things: 1. Do a Cement Mixer 2. Say hey to Ralph for all of us.

    Jazzfest

The list of artists playing at this year's Jazzfest (New Orleans) was posted recently. There are going to be some unforgettable shows. I hope I can go, and better yet, that the shows I want to see don't get sold out before I find out if I can go. Are there any .commers out there that are going?
  19. Bet they're not jumping in BC though.
  20. If safer = less severe punishment, then yes Places like California and Arizona come to mind, and there's always BC.
  21. Don't grow marijuana in Florida......or how about Don't get gaught growing marijuana in FL.
  22. Great idea!! The only dz I know of anywhere near Cozumel is in Playa del Carmen, which is about an hour give or take by boat from the island. I had good luck with Cha Cha Cah divers (I picked them for their name) down there a few years ago. Sounds like a blast, I'll be in if I can get it all worked out jobwise. Hook up some info.
  23. Which raises my next question....Does anyone have any experience jumping Crossfires manufactured after the recall. A friend of mine has put about 40 jumps on his newly manufactured Crossfire, loves it, and has not reported anything out of the ordinary. I personally saw him have a premie at 9k just after transitioning to head down, and although it looked nasty, he said it didn't even make him sore. I jumped a Crossfire 149 this last weekend three times, I definitely want to demo a 139, possibly even a 129. I also plan on jumping a friend's Cobalt 150 soon, although I'll be buying something smaller. The Crossfire I jumped dives well, and had great openings, but I would like a little snappier turns as well as lighter front riser pressures. I didn't get to surf it due to high winds, but was impressed overall. I like the gelveanor(?) material that the Cobalt is made from, packing-wise, and am glad to know that the Nitron is the same. Can anyone who has experience with these canopies give a comparison on front riser pressures and rates of turn? BTW I do plan on ordering demos (except the Nitron, due to no demos available) as soon as I know I'll have time to jump them.
  24. I haven't seen anyone post anything about the Nitron in a long time. I'm very curious about this canopy, as I plan on purchasing an elliptical in the near future. As is, I have it narrowed down to either a Cobalt or a Crossfire. Any input would be sincerely appreciated.
