1. I've watched and watched and watched this about 30 times. I'm still not sure the TI induced the roll over in the manner as described above. Watch how the TI has his right leg stiff and up into the wind. It's possible he was fighting a roll over and then finally realized he just couldn't stop it. Or, perhaps in the alternative, he was at the edge of control on stopping the roll over and decided to take control and just go ahead and finish it instead of waiting for it to possibly happen. He makes a solid underhand pitch in the direction of roll and pulls it off. Albeit, not cleanly. Was he good or good and lucky? Just my 2 cents. BTW, has the TI chimed in. I didn't see any posts that directly state he was the TI. Cheers ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!

3. I made my first jump at Ft. Benning from it. It had two j-47(?) jets on it. That was in 1982. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
4. Thanks for the story(s) Pat. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
5. That's what I thought, too. Maybe they felt they had to justify the "Master Skydiver" label they put on the D license. That always embarrassed me. I didn't feel that I was a master skydiver then and I don't now. The "Master skydiver" label was eliminated years ago. Eliminated for future issue. My D still says "Expert." Which, by the way, included night and water jumps. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
6. About expensive... I've often equated learning to skydive like going all out with learning to drive a car. You pay for lessons, take a test and buy a good used/new car. After that, it's only insurance and gas. Expensive up front but afforable on the backside. Good luck! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
7. Fantastic shots! Kudos! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!

10. Hi BKR, Can you explain the main bag to me? Is it 3 stows and then remainder of the lines in the pouch? Also, on the main pack tray, where is the closing loop positioned? Thanks! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
11. Yup, that's how it works, all right Wendy P. Yep, I'm guilty. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!

13. Wasn't the original RTS made with the handles reversed? Reserve handle on the right and cutaway on the left. I remember borrowing one and being very careful! :) ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
14. Congrats Pat! The Art of FFRW is still on my shelf. I pull it out every couple of years and reread it. When I bought your book in '83, my skills improved dramatically. The most important part was my thought processes about how and why I skydive. Thanks!! ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
15. Here's a link with a better explanation. http://cosmiclog.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2009/12/09/2147455.aspx ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!

17. Be careful, most skydivers don't usually have the attention span for rational thought. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
18. Yep, you're right. It was Lee McMillian's daughter. Thanks ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
19. Hey Russel, Have you found anymore negatives with Chris in them? BTW, didn't I meet you at Skydive Houston one time around '99? Do you have a daughter name Coleen (or similar name) who just started jumping around that time? I was a 3L at the time. Blue Skies ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
20. ------------------------------------------------ In July '86, Chris and Todd Cudnowsky (sp?) became the first two people to "land" a downplane at Raeford, NC. Todd was, amazingly, uninjured and only knocked out. Chris got fucked up pretty badly and was eventually discharged on a Medical from the military. I had just returned from Germany for school that summer and met Todd about 2 weeks afterwards. Chris, Todd, me and many others had done a lot of CRW together in the 2 years prior. Todd was reserved and kinda closed lip about it. I learned later that he couldn't remember the impact. Sometime later, (someone help me out here) he was in San Antonio, TX doing a jump and went in around end of '86 or early '87 when he couldn't reach/feel his throw out with heavy gloves. No pull and went through a car port. I read about his death in the Star & Stripes before coming back over. It was a double Whamy because my old roommate, Paul Jackson, died around the same time as Chris on a GK jump as video guy in Florida. Sad. Chris was an awesome guy and artist. I hope that the guy who got his logbooks(s) will eventually post some of his drawings. I especially want to see his drawing of us when we landed a bi-plane with Chris on top and sitting on his slider!! BSBD ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
21. Got at least a few (50-80) from 7.5 at Raeford in the early 80's and a few earlier at Lakewood, NJ. But then Gene Paul got the twin-bo and we were hot shit jumping from 11K when our military clubs were going to 10K.
22. Hey Russell, Thanks for uploading some good memories! Chris was on of a kind. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
23. I had well over a 100 jumps on my Stato Star with only smooth opening. My Starlite left bruises on my thighs! About 800+ jumps on a Fury 220 with never a slammer. It's probably more about design than material. ____________________________________ I'm back in the USA!!
