  1. All I can say is tandems are ok for experiencing the freefall and are counted towards your jump numbers, but other than that are not worth much more. So forget about doing tandems (they cost more money too) and sign up for the AFF course. You get to be in control of the skydive and if you like it after level 1 you can go on and do level 2 and so on. I know I only have 15 jumps (1 being a tandem!), but believe me, after doing AFF I wouldn't go back and do another tandem again. **Moggie Gifts**
  2. Isn't the whole point of the AFF to learn how to be a good skydiver (emphasis on the word learn!). I can understand giving the talk to somebody who should know better (ie someone who is already qualified)---seems a bit harsh to me to have a go at the students!! It's not much of a comfort that when I do my AFF people like you guys will be "giving me the talk" if I don't cut the mustard straight away!! There's enough pressure to pass as it is. I've said my piece now!! **Moggie Gifts**
  3. Ah, wish my dad was as cool as you----my dad said "there's no point in skydiving!!" , and if he doesn't think there's any point, there isn't any point, do you get my point??!!!! **Moggie Gifts**
  4. Like your website, and made me feel a bit better about the whole thing. In your pictures the weather looks beautiful, for my tandem it was mega cloudy and raining!! **Moggie Gifts**
  5. Yep I'm hooked too, live breath and sleep skydiving. I'm doing an AFF in October saving about a 1/3 of my wages---isn't costing that much about £1500 don't know what that is in $). When you think about it it's no more expensive then say, horse riding and you don't have to feed a parachute!! Just go for it in this eira of "buy now pay later" just wack it on the plastic! **Moggie Gifts**
  6. Thanks for the advice guys, here's a question for you once you've got your A licence how do you progress to b,c etc? **Moggie Gifts**
  7. Hope your eye gets better. The same thing happened to a couple of my friends after they went bungee jumping--is a burst blood vessel and should go away eventually.
  8. I am v new to the sport, just done a tandem and loved it! I have signed myself up for an AFF course (and can think of nothing else at the moment!). Is the course difficult? I'm looking forward to it, but a little nervous that I'm not gonna be very good at it!! Does anyone have any tips for me and stories of their AFF courses, would love to hear them.
