  1. Not to mention the on going saga of Weebl (and somtimes his friend Bob). PIE! Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  2. Many apologies, didnt mean to step on anyones toes..., its been a long night at work and my brain is staring to hurt... Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  3. Anyone got any ideas for this bit of civil engineering?http://www.fosterandpartners.com/internetsite/html/Project.asp?JobNo=0778Dayumn its big... Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  4. Behind Blue Eyes is a good call, but in an ideal world it would have to be Permanent Vacation by Aerosmith (ie after a nice lottery win...). Here's one for the base jumpers out there; Dog eat dog by Ted Nugent, just for the lines; Kamikaze from the hundredth floor, swan dive to the street.... Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  5. Armed bods on planes can work as a deterrent, works best if they arent identified though (probably not the pilot then...). El Al certainly used to have a reputation as the most unlikely to be hijacked airline due to their security measures (ever moaned about the length of time it takes to clear security now? try flying El Al, more questions than you can shake a pointy stick at, if you were allowed anywhere near the gate with one) and Skymarshalls; theres one story going back to the 70's of an attempted hijack that ended with the pilot sticking the plane in a negative G dive, during which the hijackers were unceremoniously offed by persons last seen exiting the plane on the apron at Heathrow and vanishing over the fence. Makes people think twice about doing it again. Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  6. I am not really qualified to talk as I have only done a couple of static line jumps (time, money, weather and work, bah keep on conspiring against my AFF plans) so dont consider myself a skydiver (yet) but having spent years climbing, almost to the exclusion of everything but beer, I still consider myself a climber even though I havent climbed in a couple of years (damn these grown up commitments). I guess if you've done it and intend to do it again, yes you are, if the intent isnt there then its just been an experience. Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
  7. Seen the film several times on the big screen, which really does it justice, part filmed at the site of the accident in Peru, action scenes redone in the Alps (cos its easier to casevac from there when you get a bit too realistic....). I dare anyone who has broken a limb/anything not to wince when the Joe Simpson character breaks his leg; at the cinema there was a collective ooouch from 400 people when it was shown. K2 is entertining but not very realistic, still better than Vertical Limit (carry nitro up onto a glacier, that wold be a good idea.....) Experience is a series of non-fatal errors.
