Question. What was I feeling during my tandem?
Skymonkey13 replied to niolosoiale's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
A drouge on a tandem is NOT to deploy the main. The main is pulled seperatly. It is to keep the tandem stable in freefall and it also helps the cameraman to be able to stay right in front of the tandem. -
Then why is there laws against Attempted Murder, Attempting to buy drugs, Attempting to sell drugs, Attempting to hire a prostitute. I think that has been decided when the US courts just gave Massoula (SP?) a life sentence for what he ATTEMPTED to do. I'm not saying Jeb was wrong for what he tried, and it would have been a hell of a video if he would have made it, but he DID break the law.

I laughed so hard when i heard him say that shit.

I had one ask me a long time ago." how do you know if your chute doesn't open since it's on your back and you can't see it"? Here's your sign.

He did slink away from all of this. He came on under a false name to talk trash about a DZ, a manager, packers, and others. Then he came back under his real name to deny that it was him, and to express how dumbfounded he was for someone to think, or accuse him as being the one doing it. He not only made a new identity for his first rant, but also made himself out to be a rich porno stud skygod to boot. I could see your point if he had done this, and then realized how stupid and unfair it was and came back, admitted it was him, and oppoligized. But he never admitted it untill he was certain that it was proved that it was really him that posted it. And even then i'm not sure how much of what he posted would even be considered a appoligy. Honesty is not something to be taken lightly, it's what determines how people think of you and what you say forever.

Now when you made your first post under the false name of Mykel jones, this was what you listed in your profile. Real Name: Mykel Jones Nick Name: Cyko Location: North America/Bahamas City: South Beach Occupation: Porn Star Email: No email entered. Jump Profile Home DZ: Pahokee License: D 43564 Number of Jumps: 4000 Years in Sport 4 Stateing that you have 4,000 jumps in 4 years, and are a porn star, then posting later that your rich and own a porn empire (not to mention that the U.S.P.A. D License number is no where near as high as the number you listed) just shows me how grandious you are about yourself. So this makes me wonder if your sorry for what you did, or just sorry you got caught

KC Skydiving Center -- Cinco de Mayo boogie!
Skymonkey13 replied to KCSkydivingCtr's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Would it have been too hard for them to post this on their web-site so anyone who wanted to go and looked at their site would be able to read it? Quote: We have erected several hurricane-proof packing tents at the DZ, with more in the works. They might want to give this secret to Don of the WFFC because i've been to many conventions where they were begging jumpers to stop trying to hold down their own tents to help put back up the big tents in the intertainment area during the boogie because of winds not even close to Hurricane type winds. -

KC Skydiving Center -- Cinco de Mayo boogie!
Skymonkey13 replied to KCSkydivingCtr's topic in Events & Places to Jump
I seen this coming as soon as the thread was started. I live in KC and was wanting to take my grandson for his first fishing trip, but i noticed that all the local TV stations were calling for bad weather. So i wondered what weather service Paul was listening to that said the weather was going to be good. I'm glad i canceled the fishing trip because my grandson would have been very disapointed as i'm sure any jumper who made the trip to KCSC was when they showed up after reading the DZO's post and finding out they were closed....yet again. And what is this about NO AIRCRAFT?....what happened to the NEW Caravan thats advertized on the web-site? Never mind, i'll let Spence answer that because he knows all. -
Buying beer for "firsts" an American thing?
Skymonkey13 replied to jumpingjimmy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The first thing you should learn as a skydiver is to never, never, never, use the word "FIRST" -
40+ What's the real risk?
Skymonkey13 replied to Boddington's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Made my first jump 15 years ago when i was 39 after i had gotten rid of the old ball and chain (sometimes divorce can be a beautiful thing) had 1 son age 8 at the time. Never worried about what he or anyone in my family thought about it because i just wanted to do it. Have never regretted it and never will. My son thought it was cool to tell his friends his dad was a skydiver and i even took him to several conventions later on at Quincy, one time even with his girlfriend which by some strange cionkidink gave me my first grandchild 9 months later. Guess i should have stayed at the camp site that nite instead of going to the party at the big tent. -
Perceptions of your relatives changed, or same?
Skymonkey13 replied to Mike111's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
When i first started jumping my dad (God rest his soul) he passed away last September. But anyway he told me he always knew i was nuts but he ask me if i had totally lost my fucking mind. But his favorite saying was "You'd have a hard time getting me out of a bad airplane, much less a good one." I have allways remembered that. -
I have a question about license numbers
Skymonkey13 replied to Skymonkey13's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Thats true also, but you can usually tell a USPA nimber and thats what his profile says is his licensing agent. Whick means thats who issued that number. But again, and i hate to keep bringing this up, but i'm not saying Tom's numbers are incorrect, i'm merely asking a question because i've seen crazy numbers on the board many times and wondered how they got a smaller number than mine (not that mines real small or anyting) when they had been jumping very few years compared to me and when i got my D. I hope you understand what i'm saying as i'm not flaming anyone in particular....and especiallly not Tom. :) -
I have a question about license numbers
Skymonkey13 replied to Skymonkey13's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I thought about that too, but uaually the persons home state and country are in the USA so it made me wonder. I just used Tom's numbers because his were the numbers that were there when i decided ti finally ask the question, but i have seen as i'm sure many of you have a lot of other people with questionable numbers on the board. -
I have a question about license numbers
Skymonkey13 replied to Skymonkey13's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Thank you Sparky, that explains Toms. But i still wonder about a lot of others. As i said before, i wasn't putting Tom down, just using his numbers as a reference. Thanks again. -
I have a question about license numbers
Skymonkey13 replied to Skymonkey13's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Now thats a possibility, as i said i'm just wondering. But some are just complete BS....not Tom's mind you, but others. -
My injury was non-skydiving related. It happened on the job. Working for a Heavy Hauling Company moving a 3500 pound safe down some stairs when all hell broke loose. Ended up at the bottom of a flight of stairs with the 3500 pound safe on top of me after riding it down. It took over 3 hours for the Fire Department and a Heavy Hauling crew set up a gantry to get the safe off me. Ended up with 2 steel plates and 4 steel screws in my back, L-5 S-1 i believe. After 2 operations and a bone graph. This was before i ever made my first jump and the only thing it does as far as jumping is keep me from doing RW as it is too painfull to hold a hard arch to fall with the fat boys. So i mostly do just fun jumps, which is fine by me, at least i can still jump. :)
