Report: Al-Qaida prisoners have ‘disappeared’
SKYDIVNEKD replied to rhino's topic in Speakers Corner
Do we share the blame because the "victims" have some ties to teh US?! Or because they are US citizens?! Or because they choose our citizens because it draws more news here and they know we have people over here who would bow down to them?! The world likes to blame the US becasue we are a great nation. We are a super power and they all don't like it. SO, say we have something to do with everything going wrong in the world. You are quite handy with quotes supporting you view on issues though! -

It's not surprising at all; look at which countries still execute juveniles (there are only 4 left, and the US is one of them). The US has executed more juveniles than all other nations combined over the last 25 years. Exactly the same attitude prevails. And the problem with executing juveniles is what?! The extent to which the system goes to prevent it, if they have committed an offense that warrants execution, so be it. Although I'm sure you are anti-death penalty. Honestly I don't think they execute quickly enough to be a true deterrant. Juveniles should be held to the same standard as adults. When proven they know what was going on, they stand the same penalty. I don't believe they are executing pre-teens! -

If they have disappeared, how does Human Rights Watch know assume some "may have been tortured"?!?! Are they ASSUMING since they have disappeared, they have been tortured. Or are they just playing games because the US isn't telling them where the others are right now? Ya know, things that take place in war are ugly. If ya can't except that, I'm not sure what to tell ya. There are things the public should never and will never know. It's called "Need to Know" intelligence. Just because there are so many news agencies with time to kill, they think they are entitled to every bit of information they want. And, if they aren't given it, they scream cover up. -

Can someone take some of that "light" and shine it in Viet Nam because they have yet to release all of our POW's (if any are still living). However, I'm sure they're living the high life over there since we know they wouldn't have tortured them. Have you heard tale of what McCain went through. Hardly humane treatment. They torture because that is what they are. You can take all of your compassionate BS and see how far it would get you in war. They don't/won't give two $hits about what we think. They are hopin' to win based on your weaknesses. Treating people the way you want to be treated only works when both parties have the same beliefs. Or you're gonna have one person gettin' his @$$ kicked all the time! -

A nameless ALLEDGED account from some soldier in Iraq, right!!! I had a soldier call me and tell me everything was going as fine as could be expected. War is war. It isn't always pretty and you can definately find people on both sides of the good/bad things going on. I hope you're not hangin' your hat on that story. -
I don't find it MY responsibility to provide health care for their children. They had 'em, they need to figure out how to care for them. Maybe a second job!? A better job?! And I don't want to hear that they can't get a better job. There are plenty of businesses which provide health care. You just have to want to work! If they don't want the responsibility, don't have the kids. Otherwise, deal with it. Don't expect others to pay for your STUPIDITY!

"Now, take a husband with a blue-collar job w/no insurance, a wife who stays home w/ their three young children, and you can easily see how he can't easily afford health insurance for his family. So, let his children die of sickness? Nope."...quote from SkydiveNFlorida Here is the simple solution, they should NOT of had the three kids in the first place!!! How irresponsible were they to have kids they can't afford?! With no kids and the wife working, they could afford health care for themselves. Then, if they established themselves, maybe they could afford a child. NOT three!!! Where did y'all get the notion of having all the kids ya want and then expecting "the man" to pick up the tab?! You get what you WORK for. Get a grip!
