  1. that whole GEICO ins. ad ran its course years ago to me. Radio is even worse, they suck! Think of something new GEICO!
  2. why are you drinking 1% milk if it's cause you think you're fat, you're not, you could drink wholemilk. Vote for Pedro and your wildest dreams will come true!
  3. Are you still refusing to enumerate the supposed gay-only rights you keep going on about? I already replied to those questions. You didn't reply if you were one of the people that engaged in the sham marraiges in Multnomah County. You had no comment on the sneaky underhanded way the gang of four in Multnomah County went about issuing those invalid marraige licenses. But I suppose that you have unmasked me Narc. I confess, in my free time I run around Maui at night with tiki torches, pitchforks, hoes and other garden implements seeking out people that aren't just like me! Sometimes we can't find anyone and the mob turns on me and attacks cause I'm a haole! Yikes!!! So much for mob mentality. The gay movement went from wanting to be accepted, to wanting to be celebrated to wanting to be married. To much, to soon. The activist gays probably got GWB reelected due to those 11 states that had gay marraige issues on their ballots, brought out those pesky Christians in droves didn't it? So go ahead and fire back some lame ass thing about my not answering questions and I'm a racist, bigot bloodthirsty, backward, yadda, yadda, person now. I'm done with this thread.
  4. These people aren't interested in your anecdotal evidence. They're only interested in their own anecdotal evidence. Who are "these people" you're referring to?
  5. Narc, no need for pity pal! I'm not a "victim". Did you and your Partner get "married" in Portland in 04?
  6. Nothing is wrong with civil unions. Then again, according to some, I'm a bigoted, biased, bloodthirsty homophobe that can get married
  7. I wonder if the cops got a "happy ending"? Unless that state has no laws against the "johns" those cops are friggin criminals now!
  8. I haven't lived in Vancouver, WA for a year and a half but at that time, the city of Vancouver extended benefits to gay couples. Hewett Packard, Microsoft etc.also. That may have been changed to "significant other" since then. The Vancouver city decision caused a small shitstorm since most people there didn't like their tax dollars subsidizing a lifestyle the majority didn't approve of. Of course, the city went ahead with it anyway since the majority of the larger cities on the Left coast know whats best for the citizens, in spite of what those citizens want. I thought that maybe this is an "old school' point of view (anti gay marraige) but in talking to my kids (four of them, 15 to 27) they also don't think gay marraige is a good idea. I live in Hawaii now and I think that they first explored the idea of letting gays marry in the 90's. They still can't marry here. I have no problem with the civil union idea with all the same benefits, but apparently, that's not good enough for the gay folks anymore. I know that gays have many valid reasons (in your own opinions) about why they should be allowed to marry, but the majority of people do not agree and most likely won't agree for several more generations. But no hard feelings (no pun intended) and happy valantines day.
  9. I'm already as far SW as I can go and they don't allow smoking inside either!
  10. I've never seen a picture of Cheney without his usual snarl
  11. Yep, several states already have. Nothing like the government telling private property owners what they can do with a LEGAL product in their establishment!
  12. Aren't "johns" arrested in prostitution stings? This is a crock of shit. Of course, I believe that all "victimless" crimes shouldn't be crimes in the first place
  13. Calling him bitter is a personal attack. You'll get away with it because it is not a "personal attack" as defined in the rules here, but I don't acccept Sangiro's defintion. I use the phrase in a more traditionally accepted sense. You're missing the point. And there's another one. Again, ad hominem, but not against the rules. I'm not the "world's greatest authority" to anyone, and there are a lot of people who disagree with me about many of my views. The difference lies in the expression of agreement and disagreement on both sides. rl Guess it's a good thing that this is HH's place then Rhonda Narc seems bitter since many of his posts have to do with his not being able to get married to his partner. I don't see Keith in that same mindset (maybe I'm wrong tho). Saying that is in no way a personal attack, just an observation. It's ironic how all the open minded people here start spewing all their little names at people that don't embrace their views of the world. Homophobe, racist, bloodthirsty etc. You didn't call those names personal attacks Rhonda, did ya? I've had gay friends in the past and probably will in the future but according to Narc, they are okay with being "sub human" since they're not ranting and raving about gay marraige. Sorry, but I disagree. I'm not sure what question I didn't answer either Narc unless you want a list of the cities and corporation in the NW that extend certain benefits to gays that don't to hetros. You're from the NW and I'm sure that you're in the loop about all gay issues in the NW, so why bother? One thing I'm curious about is what is the biggest reason gays want to be married, tax breaks? And in closing, you're right Narc, everyone else is wrong
  14. You must have forgotten to press "Post Reply" because your answers do not appear anywhere in this thread. Forget it, LJ. It has now devolved into the same old thing: don't have an argument? Confuse the issue with a personal attack instead. It never ceases to amaze me. But then again, this is not the old college debate team. rl Edited to add: I do find a certain amount of ironic humor in the characterization of you as "bitter." It's been quite some time back, but I remember once that in a similar context, someone called me a "prude." what in the hell are you talking about RL Where the fuck is any personal attack? There is absolutely no point in trying to express an opinion to narc, I'm a bigot or whatever the fuck he considers any other viewpoint besides his at the moment. You seem to be DZ.coms worlds greatest authority to lots of people here, not me however.
  15. I already answered all you questions, you're right and everyone else is wrong, not good enough for you?!? Time for me to head for the beach, have a good one.
  16. Narcimund is a very bitter guy, hope he gets over it and finds happiness in his life since majority approval of gay marraige won't happen. And Narc, try this, you're right, everyone else is wrong, happy with my posts now?
  17. Find me a person who quietly believes in the inferiority of homosexuals yet does NOT contribute to the actions that disadvantage us, and I'll exempt that person from my criticism. Otherwise, those who vote against gay marriage, beat gay people, and teach their children bigotry can go to hell. Guess most prople are full of shit and can go to hell (which I doubt that you believe in) then. You missed my point how many companies, government agencies, etc. are giving gays rights that hetros don't have. Perhaps you're just ignoring it.

    Jihad This!

What's your national symbol? A lion. Which is funny, since Norway doesn't have any lions.
  19. Gay people in the NW do not have equal rights, they have special rights. Several governments and companies there extend insurance coverage to homosexual couples and do not extend the same benefits to unmarried hetro couples. This is a bit off topic, I know. As for the original poster of this thread, I can't put my finger on the reason why I don't feel gay marraige is right, it just isn't to me. I'm sure that a big part of it is nature, men and women made for one another etc. and of course thousands of years of tradition. Narcimund, I don't know you but I'm pretty sure that outside of what you consider a "bigoted" society, you and your partner are pretty happy. Maybe you should try to appreciate what you do have?!?
  20. Funny you mentioned Kerrigan since I was just thinking they should bring Tonya Harding out of mothballs and put her back on the ice. They do have a "heavyweight" title right?
  21. typical day on Maui, but it's suppossed to rain later
  22. I could be wrong about the initial legality of what the gang of four did Shotgun. Meeting with gay rights groups in secret for several months prior to decreeing that not letting gays get married violated the Oregon constitution and keeping the fifth comissioner completely in the dark is just plain wrong. These were county comissioners, not judges mind you. The gay marriage thing in the bay area flamed out (pun intended) also didn't it? Personally, I think that gay marriage is wrong. That's just my own opinion not a religous viewpoint. If you or anyone else here has a different opinion, that's okay with me too. I'm not one of those people that feel if you don't agree with my opinion, then you're wrong.
  23. haven't heard about that prediction. I hope they wait till after this seasons "Lost" shows are over.
  24. The Oregon supremes threw out the licenses saying they were now moot (after the state constitution was amended). I think the gay groups are suing now over whether the amendment itself is valid. Funy how these days folks that lose an issue in an election now take it to court, go figure
