yes that is a serious problem... I update religiously, antiv scan weekly, and do spybot once in a while and NEVER have any problems of course I don't use the www to find pr0n.. there are better places to get it his computers sounds pretty much hosed, probably should just rebuild it, it will turn out better in the long run anyway, and make sure that "automatic updates" are turned on at least. running adaware and spybot are just about the only ways to clean the computer... anothing thing you can do is boot into "safe-mode" and then try re-running the anti-spyware aps again... make sure they are updated before rebooting also a virus scan is likely needed as well there is a point sometimes when you just have to bite the bullet and reinstall the OS but spybot usually works very well for me. The next level of repairs to the OS gets a bit more tricky and I don't recommend them for n00bs... you can try Start --> Run --> "msinfo32" then look under software environment --> Startup Programs and see what is loading at startup. There are also about 5 locations in the registry where errant programs can load at startup from to fux0r your system up, but I think that would be beyond the scope of this post to address... I use State Farm as well... Best rates I could find for a 28 y.o. with a '98 Ducati 748 liability only and an '03 BMW K1200RS full coverage. I also insure a few other vehicles with them, all very reasonably priced. It helps to have a clean driving record. Progressive and GEICO both were MUCH higher for me, especially on the BMW. PETA folks have their priorities way out of whack... why don't they do something more meaningful with their time??? I remember an ad campaign a while ago in which the slogan, "Got Beer?" was being used because they were promoting beer drinking instead of milk since no animals are harmed when making beer.
