  1. Technically, you don't have to resign from congress until you are confirmed in the new role. He did it just to stop the report from being released. Now he can join the next congress which he was elected to. My understanding is that since it is a new congress, they would need to start the entire investigation over again if they wanted to bring the ethics charges back up. So essentially this was all just a trick to get him out of the release of the ethics report. Great system they have huh?
  2. He resigned from the previous congress and was elected to the next.
  3. He doesn't need a cushy appointment in 6 months. They managed to squash the report which was the goal. Now he can just go back to being an asshole in Congress and there won't ever be a report. I assume this was the plan all along.
  4. You are assuming that there will be "legitimate" elections in 2 years. I have no confidence in that. If there are elections at all, they will be like the elections like they have in Russian, purely for show, with the results already pre-determined. Free and fair elections are a thing of the past in the USA.
  5. No matter how bad things get under Trump, Joe 6-pack will find a way to blame it on Biden and the lefties. One of the key characteristics of both Trump and his supporters is never admit to making a mistake. Another is always find someone else to blame. Personal responsibility does not exist in MAGA moron world.

    Trump

The Central Park 5 have filed a defamation suit against Trump. https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/21/politics/central-park-five-trump-defamation/index.html
  7. If you trust the answers that you get from AI, I recommend asking it this simple question: How many Rs are in the word strawberry?
  8. This is exactly what I have been working on. Microsoft Purview is part of M365 (depending on licenses). Purview is Microsoft's data governance product. If all of the exfiltration settings are configured correctly. It can be relatively well protected. The problem is that is is also very easy to misconfigure it and not realize it. The project I have been working on is training for internal MS security engineers on how to properly configure their customer's environments to allow the use of Copilot, while protecting confidential data from being leaked. We have had to rewrite many of the standards and best practices along the way.
  9. I have spent the last 8 months working on a Data Governance project. One of the biggest parts of the project is the integration with AI. It took me at least a month to repeatedly explain that when we talk about data governance and AI, it isn't about "integration with" but about "protection from." I have found it very difficult to get management to understand that the biggest concern of AI in a corporate environment is protecting internal corporate data from leaking into the AI learning model and your confidential data becoming part of the model. The introduction of "AI" to the masses has changed a lot of the concepts and previous best practices concerning data governance.
  10. I just received my FL absentee ballot. There is an amendment to protect abortion rights. For each amendment there is a description that gets added. Here is the text of the amendment and the text of the description. Anyone see anything wrong with this?

    Trump

At the convention in 98 was the first time I saw him. I asked someone who it was and the reply was, Oh, you don't know Windbag Knothead the third. A whole lot of years later and it seems not much has changed. People are still saying it. Not me mind you, I have nothing against those kind of people. I am just telling you that is what people are saying. If you need me to explain it to you, you are obviously too clueless to understand.
  13. Status as a natural-born citizen of the United States is one of the eligibility requirements established in the United States Constitution for holding the office of president or vice president. This requirement was intended to protect the nation from foreign influence.[1] The U.S. Constitution uses but does not define the phrase "natural born Citizen" and various opinions have been offered over time regarding its exact meaning. The consensus of early 21st-century constitutional and legal scholars, together with relevant case law, is that natural-born citizens include, subject to exceptions, those born in the United States. As to those born elsewhere who meet the legal requirements for birthright citizenship, the consensus emerging as of 2016 was that they also are natural-born citizens.[2][3][4] I was born in another country to an American father. I was born with US citizenship. I did not need to apply for anything except a passport.
