  1. Okay, I've been playing around with this game all night. It's huge...it would take weeks and weeks to complete this one. The BASE jumping / skydiving thing is pretty cool...I discovered that you can cutaway by pressing R1. Of course, there's no reserve so you just end up falling to your death..
  2. Don't you have something better to do than sit around and watch the webcam and live vicariouslly through others?? sheesh.
  3. Yup. National Speleological Society Have fun with it! I love caving!
  4. do you really have to start your instructions with this? I like this one: Someone in homeland security is gonna find this and we're all gonna be in trouble
  5. This happened to a friend of mine recently: Fresh off student status he was going up on a load when he realized he hadn't turned his cypres on. Thinking he was being the safety conscious student he was taught to be, he turned it on while climbing to altitude. I'm not sure if he did it himself or had someone help him since it is on the back of the rig. He was doing a three way with several others when he felt a hard shock. He thought it was a freefall collision with another skydiver. He looked up to see his reserve above his head at 9000 feet. Pretty simple lesson here: Dont turn your cypres on in the plane.
  6. Try taking benedryl tablets. They always work for me whenever I get an allergic reaction. I had never had an allergic reaction until several years ago in florida when I got bit by a bunch of ants. I had been bit by ants before, even the ones in florida without reaction. For some reason however at that time I became allergic to ant bites and I have been ever since. It's weird how allergies just seem to 'develop'
  7. not drunk already...well actually I am from lots of free johnnie walker. But nevertheless, I've been on this site 3 months and seen this posted at least a dozen times.
  8. um...are you kidding?!?!

    Guacamole sucks

Guacamole at Chipotle is great stuff, but way too expensive. It costs something like $1.50 to add to your burrito.
  11. Whenever I meet someone, I always try to think of what I could do to make their day just a little better. If it's someone I dont know on the sidewalk...I simply smile at them. If I see someone all the way across the lobby in my building, I'll hold up the elevator for them. If my friend is bored, I drive an hour to see them and make their night better. Things like that put me in a good mood as well.
  12. So would this resume include "refrences" and would you check them?? That could sure get ugly.
  13. Discovery Channel has done several stories on D.B. Cooper including one where someone reenacted his jump.
  14. Hmm. Your profile says live in Nevada....I guess thats a preview of what we have to look forward to tommorow here in Colorado.
  15. Hmm. Come to think of it, mountain biking wasn't on the list. How do they come up with the exemptions for that kind of insurance? I've known way many more people that got messed up mountain biking then rock climbing or scuba diving. It's kinda funny that they consider "extreme sports" versus mainstreem sports regardless of risk factors. I didnt see any exclusions for rugby, even though it's about the easiest way I know to get seriouslly fucked up.
  16. I drive around Boulder all the time. There red light cameras and speed vans everywhere there! I've been nabbed three times on those
  17. So, I had to go in and meet with my company's rep for "accident insurance" today. He did his whole spiel where he is telling me that for around $5 a month (my company pays the rest) I can get accident insurance that gives me cash for broken bones, torn ligiments, etc. So I said, sure sounds like a good deal. We get into the "fine print" and I read that it is not valid if I hurt myself "parachuting, mountain climbing, rappeling, SCUBA diving, whitewater rafting / kayaking, etc..." Well, how the hell am I supposed to get hurt?? Trip and fall on my way into the office building?? I politely declined. Now I will be able to afford 1 more jump ticket every 4 months.
  18. I did a highly unscientific poll on this a while ago and concluded that. 1. Every single skydiver (with the notable excpetion of Sunny) speeds 2. Skydivers drive an average of 12.4 MPH over the speed limit
  19. HAFE: It's actually a doccumented medical condition clicky
  20. I'm afraid of what would happen if I even mentioned your name, let alone told them I had actually jumped with you. But, seriouslly back to the subject at hand: butt shapped M&M's
  21. In altutude medicne there are several kinds of altutde illness AMS: Acute Mountain Sickness HAPE - High altiude Puliminary Edima: Fluid in the lungs. Life Threating, Worse than AMS HACE - High Altitude Cerebral Edema: Fluid, blood in the brain. Worse that HAPE, Extremely life threating HAFE- High Altitude Flatulant Explusion: Expanding gasses in your intestine. Worse than all the others, causes you to get thrown off mountains by your climbing partners.
  22. Mar, I dont know what you are talking about. You have absoloutely no sense of humor at all. Actually I'm dissappointed...I would have expected you to stir the pot on this one a little
  23. I did an unintentional 60-foot "jump" on a climbing rope when leading a runout section once. It was scary as hell and I don't exactly wish to repeat the experience...bungee or otherwise
  24. I had a dream just last night that I got on a skyvan and halfway through the climb to altitude, realized I wasnt wearing a rig I felt really embarassed about it....much like those dreams where you go to a public place and realize you are naked.
