  1. It can taste pretty bad straight. *My friend after taking a shot of absinthe runs off toward the river.* ME: "Hey, where are you going??" HIM: "To drown myself!"
  2. What concerns me though, if you look at that last circle (8am Sunday), it has an "H" inside it which corresponds to hurricane force winds. Of course, that is still 5 days away and a lot could change by then. However if it strengthins to hurricane force by the Bahamas, it could be pretty nasty by the time it makes landfall in Florida.
  3. The problem isn't in finding a website to relay the pages, imags, etc... There are several websites out there that do that. The major problem would be with cookies. This site uses cookies to track users and those cookies aren't preserved through a relay site. So, probably it wouldnt be to difficult to read DZ.com, however they would not be able to post here.
  4. Sprint does that to me about every third month. Then, when you go to their web site to sign up for automated payment the pages take you in circles and you always end up right back where you started without getting anywhere useful. Very frustrating.
  5. DAMN... Glad I dont still live in Florida
  6. Nope, but they've got the "short tour" as any Golden local can atest.
  7. That's exactly where I live....I am at the base of a mountain bike trail (Green Mtn.), kayaking is 5 mins away in Golden, rock and ice climbing are 10 mins away in Cleer Creek Canyon, Boulder (where I end up a lot) is half an hour, and I don't have to deal with Denver on my way to I-70 go skiing (read: I get on the road before most everyone else!) The only thing that isn't close to here is the DZ...Mile-Hi is almost an hour away...I suppose it could be worse, I could live in south Denver, Aurora, or Parker! *shrug* Keystone has great terrain and just about the worst skiers and riders in the state. I worked up at keystone for a year and was continually frustrated by idiots from certain states that I won't mention here who thought they were expert skiers/riders whilst eratically turning their way down the harder trails on their edges the whole time. That said, I ski at keystone all the time...avoiding the bad skiers just adds an additional challenge to the runs. Vail is definatly my favorite followed by Mary Jane (Winter Park). If you like big bumps on steep terrain, it's hard to beat MJ anywhere within a 2 hour drive of Denver. Winter Park is snowboarding hell due to all the catwalks though. edit: I know I can't spell
  8. Well, I suppose, we can make exceptions.
  9. If you both have the time, take her to Costa Rica (or something like that) for a week or so. I went there with my GF several years ago and It was one of the best trips I have ever been on! We spent three days in Corcovado N.P. backpacking through the rainforest, past waterfalls, along black sand beaches. Then we went sea kayaking. You can do canopy tours, whitewater rafting, surfing...It's a great place!
  10. I live in Denver Area (Lakewood) and couldn't be happier! The people in Colorado are truely wonderful people. Many people here are infected with a love for life that you dont find elsewhere. Great Beer too, and I'm not talking about that stuff they brew in Golden, there are so many microbrewerys...It helps that my roommate is a brewmaster at a local microbrewery! The weather is awesome....over 300 days a year of sun and it never stays too cold in Denver over the winter. Sure, it snows from time to time, but usually all it takes is a few days and it's back up in the 50s and 60s and it all melts away. The skiing is great, backpacking, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, etc. You should never be bored in Colorado. I pay around $400 a month to live in a fairly nice house with 2 roommates. As for skydiving, I am new to the sport so I can't say much other than I have been jumping at Mile-Hi out of convience and it is a very good DZ. I have also hung out at Skydive the Rockies in Canon City (2-3 hours from Denver) and they seem like great people too. Denver Skydivers in Brush is sounds like a great place as well, although I have never been there. A few other cities you may consider in Colorado may be Ft. Collins, Boulder (expensive), or Durango (although I dont know of a dropzone too close to there...Moab I think is the closest at 3 hours away) If you are looking for jobs in the Denver area try www.denverpost.com or www.westword.com PM me if you would like more info!! Oh wait, WHAT HAVE I SAID?? we don't need any more people in this state. We don't want any more people in this state!!! Colorado Sucks...you shouldnt come here.
  11. A US Coast Guard Approved Type III Personal Flotation Device
  12. How about this one: YATTA It's kinda similar to AYBABTU
  13. I think the hampster dance started this whole craze...the badgers are pretty much a hampster dance spinoff
  14. WOW...none of us are cynical here are we?
  15. Ok yeah, tecnicality there, It must be nice to have that military ID and access to the Commisary. I have a friend who works in the ANG and gets alcohol all the time on Sundays...also my roommate is a brewmaster at a microbrewery and can always get beer on sundays...too bad I didn't have time to work it all out after the last load of the day though. Oh Well, I'll make up for it next weekend.
  16. I finally finished AFF this weekend!! I had a not-so-good level 7 with poor body positioning on opening resulting in a lot of line twists, but I still passed!! I got my first solo in too. I only had to repeat one level (level 2), so I am fairly content. Only hiccup...Alcohol isn't sold in Colorado on Sundays!! I guess I'll have to buy my beer (plus a case for intrest) next weekend. So now skydives get a lot cheaper! ( I don't expect the overall cost of the sport to get any cheaper though) My budget has changed in the past few months to look like this: Monthly salary - rent - car payment - cell phone bill = $$ available for skydiving!! Who needs food?? I'm totally hooked...I can't wait to go again. I'm almost regretting taking the weekend after next off to go whitewater rafting in West Virginia.... I knew I would like skydiving...I had no idea how much it would take over my life!!

Man this is scary even out here in CO. That's a massive storm out there. I have friends in Vero Beach that I haven't been able to get ahold of. Hope all of you in Fla stay safe! Satellite Picture
  18. I just had a totally oppisite experience last weekend...in Las Vegas of all places. My friend was dancing at a club at one of the big casinos and she dropped her cell phone. Someone picked it up and kept it till we called looking for it around 4 in the morning. They were nice enough to not only return it, but drive out of their way to our hotel and drop it off since we didn't have a car and it would mean an expensive cab ride out to their hotel and back. There are some very good people in this world too!!
  19. Read the book in the library...do you remember how to get there??
  20. I'm stuck...got into the library, met the ghost of the little girl, etc... still can't get into the cellar. BTW..it helps ALOT to turn up the brightness on your screen. This game is, um, dark...
  21. :2:1 Levels 5 & 6 AFF yesterday; First sunset jump!!! It was a great jump for my level 6...I went tracking off into the sun setting over the rocky mountains. Level 7 aff next weekend!! Gonna be big time for that one! Rafting guides are great people (I'm one of them).. Definatly one of the only groups out there that loves life and drinks as much beer as skydivers!! It's always so cool when the customers buy the beer and hang out and drink it with you!! I thought nothing could ever take me away from the river...now I think I've found something that I love just as much...damn I wish weekends were longer!
  22. Nope...I tried to figure out how it might relate to the star painting on the wall, the face of the clock and the book on the table...no luck
  23. Chipotle Burritos!!! Gotta Love em'
