More Proof GWing Alarmists are Running Out of Time
davedlg replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
You mean he is doing his JOB? The head of a democracy is listening to the overwhelming voice of the people?? I think this may be a first for Bush. How long did it take? 6 years? -
In perhaps a bit of irony, I read today that Fred Phelps and his group are planning on picketing Falwell's Funeral. I usually try to ignore that group and their attempts to incite and enrage people for publicity, but I think that this one is actually funny.

Congrats! My girlfriend just started studying for the one in July. It'll be a long 3 months

The easiest method of telling the real from the fake listings would be to contact the seller and ask some pointed questions that any skydiver should be able to answer. I would venture to guess that 95% of the scammers aren't skydivers and wouldn't be able to answer even the simplest technical questions.

Looks beautiful. I have always wanted to run the Rio Grand in Big Bend. Hopefully some day I'll make it down there.

Wait...41 cents for a stamp? When did that happen?

I'm all for preventing racism and such, but I think this is ridiculous. We have gotten way to sensitive as a society. Sure, he said some things that offended some people. That is part of comedy. Most comedy is at someone else's expense. Why be so jumpy about this particular incident? If he'd been making fun of a white basketball team for being white, no one would have cared. Just another sign of our sissified society.

You mean there's fun to be had outside Colorado?? Say it ain't so. If we get another winter like this one I might seriouslly consider moving to seattle. I hear it's sunnier there

Yeah, but my weekend plans involve skiing, mountain biking, and whitewater rafting....I'll put up with a bit of snow for that.
-
No promises. But I promise it wont be around for two and a half months this time.

WooHoo! Here comes the last hurrah! 12-18 inches by tommorow afternoon!

I was in Texas recently.. Is is me??

Fair market value on a vehicle with only 300 miles on it had better be new value. Of course leave it to an insuance company to try to deduct 300 miles worth of value from a new car.
-
I just got a brand new truck. I'd be pissed if that happened to it. At least with 300 miles on it, they'll have a hard time short changing you on the replacement value of the car...

Sounds like something South Park would come up with.

I went to the cosmosphere a few months ago. What an amazing place! Who would have thought that kind of museum would be in the middle of Kansas? It was definatly worth the drive**. I spent about 4 hours there and could have spent even more. They have the original Liberty Bell 7 (which was rescued from the bottom of the ocean) and the Apollo 13 capsules. I was also really impressed by the way they showed the history of the space program from its origins in WW2 and through the Cold War. **edited to add: It's worth the drive from Wichita. Nothing is worth the drive through Kansas from Denver.

Yup, and if you ever get out by Fruita, Colorado, the headless chicken festival is a good time! Good Mountain biking there too!

I've been down the river at that location. No way in hell could you 4x4 out of there. You'd never get a plane down there either. The most probable means of getting out would be hopping on a motorized raft and taking it down to Lake Mead. The Hulapai already make a pretty good business of taking tourists down the river from their Diamond Creek boat ramp to Lake Mead. A helicopter would work too, but the last thing the Grand Canyon needs is more helicopters flying around. The Hualapai own the entire south side of the river in that area (the NPS owns the north side), so you could land without setting foot on NPS land. However, the river corridor is managed in conjunction with the NPS, so the NPS could have issues with that. The Hualapai operate the Diamond Creek boat ramp (upstream of the Skywalk) which is used by almost all grand canyon river runners to take out from 18+ day grand canyon trips. I am organizing such a trip right now, and I will have to write them a check for over $1000 for 15 of us to take out there and drive their road back out of the canyon...

I agree. I, personally have changed over the course of the last 10 years or so, and I know people that have changed overnight due to a significant event in their lives.

So I'm at 12,000'; Over Renton and I Lose Both Engines...

Now without electrical, how did you manage to get the flaps down? -
Nope. Good memories and bad memories both combine to make us who we are. However, I could see the use of the drug in the case of post traumatic stress disorder to the point of complete disablilty.

I know the feeling. I posted a thread yesterday about my brother, who died a week and a half ago. For me, there have been good times and bad times since, and there are the times that it is almost unbearable. I know that nothing will ever make it better, and I doubt that in a year I will be any better off. The best I can do is to try to live my life in my brother's memory and try to be as good a person as he was.
