Well, Cindy said Tony Suits had the technology and could fix it. So, I'm hoping that it has actually made it there by now and is in the process of being repaired. I sent my helmet to Unfeathered last week and am waiting for its return. As yet I haven't jumped. By the time all my stuff gets back I will definitely be ready to get in the air. Defintely, NO DOWNWINDS!!!!

Hey Chris, Just got off the phone with Lee and he suggested that I let you know I plan on being at the Dublin boogie. Something about a headcount or something. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to it. See ya then, if not before. Doug C.

Hey Keith, you're right. I've only been out once or twice since my accident in N.C., and only to sit on the sidelines. But there are a bunch of good people there that will not hesitate to get the newer jumpers involved and offer helpful criticism. I even get asked to jump with you guys, every now and then, and some of those invitations have come from Fortson. I like jumping at other drop zones when I can, but Skydive Tallahassee is my home dz. I finished most of my AFF there, got my A there, got my B there, and like going there. Hope to be back in January, provided I get all my equipment back from being repaired and serviced. Doug C.

didn't know that. Their name though, does stand for Payable On Death and I understand they started out doing songs with a Christian theme.

I had a pretty bad landing about 6 weeks ago. My helmet ripped off my head, went unconscious, got a concusion and scraped up. When I went back to work performing limited duties I was asked by a guy, "so, what happened to you? Are you all right? Is there any permanent brain damage?" Oh yeah, I had a labotomy because they couldn't save a part of my brain, and I'm sitting here talking to you, functioning normally. What was he thinking?

Close up video of Artest paints a different story

What do you mean, especially black players? There are only like 2 white guys in pro basketball. I think basketball is a very racist sport, against whites. -
I agree with InflightSupv to a certain degree. Scriptural baptism is a public identification with Jesus Christ after trusting Him as Lord and Saviour and being Born Again. It is a conscious decision made after the new birth and is a total submersion, not a sprinkling. Therefore a child cannot be baptised until he or she has become a Christian. Doing anything else to an infant is only for the sake of the parents or grandparents and has no spiritual or eternal value at all.

well i've only got 60 or 70 jumps on my z1, and it has never come off on opening. The only time it did come off was when i hit the ground downwind at about 40 mph.
-
I recently had a really nasty downwind landing in which my z1 was ripped off my head, as well as breaking the face shield cmpletely off. Does anyone know if Parasport would want to look at it for any degradation in the shell? I also need to replace the two plastic screws that hold the shield on, but haven't had any luck finding them on line. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hey Chris, I think I'll be able to make this one, but I am definitely not going to repeat my act at the Mountain Boogie. Doug. -
Thanks Phil, the MRI is today and tomorrow is when my Doc interprets it for me. Things are starting to improve though. The dizziness is not occuring near as much as a couple days ago. Cindy says it looks like I'm walking better, but it doesn't feel it. Hope to be visiting you all at the DZ real quick. Tell Toni I said thank you for the prayers. Doug.

To those who have written that were or were not there and do not know me, thank you for your concern of a fellow skydiver. But up to now I have neglected to publically thank the one that deserves my thanks and Praise. The Giver of Breath, the Sustainer of Life, the Creator of the Universe, my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that it was a real miracle that I got out of that landing with not one broken bone or one stitch taken. Thank you Lord.

QuoteExactly... it was more like... slllliiiiiiide.. tumble tumble roll roll roll. DID ANYBODY GET THAT ON VIDEO? I'd even pay for a copy of it.
-
Let me also say to all who saw the landing that I made a number of bad decisions that day. First was to even manifest. Before the day started I only had 95 jumps and just the Saturday before met all the requirements for "B" license. It was a strange DZ, the winds were way above what I should have been jumping. When I opened, instead of using my head and let the winds take me down where I would have had plenty of room to make an approach, I tried making a "B" line, literally, back to an acceptable landing area. That shows my lack of experience and wanting to be one of those jumpers that is there to skydive come hell or high water. STUPID!!!!!!!!!

Were you one of those working on me to my left? I remember seeing a female and thinking what a cute EMT, but in the ride to the hospital I realized that was not the case. Thank you again for all you did.
-
I would first like to say a huge THANK YOU to all those at the airport that rushed to my rescue and anyone who literally had a hand in tending to me before the EMT's got there. It would be impossible to call you all by name, as I didn't know but 2 people huddled around me. Secondly, all the x-rays and cat scan were negative for breaks and dain bramage (a little humor). Again, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.

QuoteI think the bottom line is you just have to keep things in perspective, partner first, skydiving second. There were quite a few weekends I sacrificed skydiving to do something with my wife. A little give and take goes a long way. Absolutely correct, it is essential to keep a proper perspective between your partner and skydiving.

thank you -
My partner and wife came 21 years before Skydiving. She was apprehensive about my first jump, but totally supported me doing it. Since that first tandem both my boys have made tandems and loved it. She was also totally fine with giving the boys tandem jumps. As long as we can afford my jumping she is fine with letting me pursue my pastime. I have asked her on numerous occasions if she wanted to make a tandem jump, but she just has absolutely no interest. She will however, accompany me at some skydiving events. Bottom line is, I love her and I don't see myself ever giving up skydiving, so I make it all work together.

Chances are if your tag number was recorded properly and that was you on that stretch of road and you were travelling at that speed, you're screwed. Used to police full time in Georgia and I heard judges say repeatedly to your exact argument, "you have been properly cited".

Brandy, Sorry to hear about Lee and your Montero. Feel worse about the Montero, knowing Lee is o.k. Doug.
