In construction for 25 years climbing on and off of heavy equip up and down scaffolding (actually jumping off from 5 to 12 feet and praticing my PLFs) and have never had a problem with my wedding band... But then I knew it could be a problem early on, so I have always been aware of it and just always took care of it anytime my hand was close to any snaging objects... Its one of those microsecond mental decision thangys! Never use to wear a belt until about 38ish 39ish years of AGE!!! (young guns asking WHY???, yu'll see) lol But anywho, I wear a belt with my jeans in the fall and early spring just incase I would need a turniquot at landing.... My buckle is not huge or projecting. However, the first time I wore my belt this year I did turn it so the buckle was in the rear!! Which i now think that is completly pointless. YES the legstraps will hold up any pants, and I could use something from my rig as a turniquot! God forbid.. So in keeping with POPS/BVs theory (which I TOTALLY concur with) I will probably not wear one again IF there is NO bonafide reason to!! My shirts dont come untucked! Dont know why, they just dont! OBTW, I shed 23 pounds this summer! Got back into my 32s and still dont need a belt!! My ASS looks just fine too!

priority ONE!!! After ADULTS have children, "it AIN'T about "us/me" anymore...PERIOD! It's about the children... I agree with everyone here!!! This quote is the most warranted I relize that in life that death can happen in a "twinkling of the eye".... and that there may not be enuf time to express something to someone else tho... BUT no matter what something needs to be said or done to prevent a catastrophe!! The pilot of the plane could/should also be alerted so that the jump~run can be postponed for a brief! In the the end the pilot is the boss.

I know its an old thread but man I tell ya... This was/is so me!!! I was wondering the same thAng about me earlier this season, BUT I rode this new found FREEDOM for all it is worth and not foresaking safety but actually enhancing my learning curve of our sport.... GOD to be 16 again! I have stated elsewhere in these forums (this year) that this has been my BEST year in jumping EVER since I started in 1997 quit in 1999 and started again in 2003-04... I truely and firmly believe that most of my thinking is because of the IQ thingy mentioned by sswayne! Can I ever relate to the ride up "what ifs"... I use to freaking envy and NOT understand how the exp jumpers could be relaxed almost into a sleep during the ride... Every 500' up back in 97-99 I would heavy sigh probably 20times +.... I sleep pretty damn comfy myself now!! Woo freaking HOO... ;) All the while going over my dive and EPs mentally. Now I have found my routine and am SO comfortable with waking up on jumpday, racing to my wheels that is driving ME to the dz, saying " WAIT for me~I want on that load" (1st load usually) and just chkg my gear TWICE and boarding and landing again... I may have become more complacent, but in a VERY good and SAFE way because I understand more about LIFE, and OUR sport since 1999!!! I am so looking forward to the day when my ELLIE comes to the same conclusion, She will be way better jumper than I could ever dream of me being!! WELCOME BACK to YOU and others like us.... My approach is sorta of a combo things, DOM of complete system, exp of jumper. after that I really dont have a problem with 120, 180 or even a 365 day repack cycle! At first I was not keen on it when I first started hearing about b/c why fix what really isnt broke! (regulations) But then again, if the gear has not been abused from storage, landing or whatever, then why mandate? Except for what I stated above about DOM etc! However I am 50/50...cant ya'll tell? Both me and MY rigger have these containers... HOWEVER our risers STOW DIFFERENTLY from each other and they are seperated in build dates by only 3-4 numbers.... Meaning mine was built just 3 or 4 containers before/after his was.... Hit me back if you need some help.... dannydan...

OMG.....I know a family that has a WONDERFUL, well maintained home inside and out that they own and everything is new to fairly new. They are the "keeping UP with the Jones' type" but not hoity/toity, but anyway there is this ONE "wee wee poop" of a problem I have with their FREAKING THINKING, ...they allow their K9s to farkin relieve themselves in their most up to date kitchen next to this 3000.00 refrigerator....
