    male ho

I have a sudden urge to become an instructor...
  3. Ok so here I am, with a fresh A license, starting to attempt actual RW, did my first 4-way last weekend, I have a lot on my mind about what I did wrong and how to go about correcting it and I know the longer it is before I jump the less I'll have carried over from that one and I really feel like I could do well and learn a whole lot if I could get out of an airplane right this very minute and also last weekend I brought the rig I'm probably going to buy for an inspect and repack and I should be able to jump it this saturday when I go and I really really want to jump that rig, it's my first rig and I really want to work on RW skills because like I said I know what I need to do to fix my biggest problems from last weekend and now I'm looking out from my 8th floor window and it's 80 degrees outside with light winds and NOT A DAMN CLOUD IN THE SKY and I know I'm going to jump this saturday and I ought to be able to jump this rig on saturday as well and it's so god damned beautiful outside today and I'm not jumping until saturday and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGHGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok. I'm better now. But saturday is still way too far off... Blue skies all, Marc
  4. Why is it that no matter WHAT the thread is about on here, people always end up horny? Oh wait... nevermind, I just realized, we're all probably just horny all the time.
  5. There are 5 types of schizophrenia--catatonic, disorganized, paranoid, undifferentiated, and residual. Paranoid schizophrenia is the most well-known, which can cause a general persecution complex, delusions of grandeur, and frequent auditory hallucinations. Contrary to popular belief, schizophrenia and dissociative identity disorder(multiple personalities) are not related. Right, off to my abnormal psych class... Marc "I'll be standing in the shadows, with who I used to be He's slighty schizophrenic... me and me and me and me agree That you are gonna pay, for what you did to me..."
  6. Hahaha! "You must be as tall as this sign to jump from here."

  8. I've been corrected while packing so many times, I can't tell anymore when people are kidding or not when I get a gear check and they say "whoa, were you going to jump this?" Marc

    Frustration

If you climb all the way out with your feet off the step before letting go, you're doing a "hanging" exit. I think the hanging exit is the easiest to keep stable from. "Poised" exits are where you're still standing on the step, and holding on to the strut for balance. When I was at about the same point in SL training, everybody told me I was really tense too. I didn't have the fear of leaving the airplane anymore, at least not as intense as at first, so I wasn't tightening up because of that. I would tense up, however, because I would think about everything I had to do, and not screwing up, and I'm a perfectionist, and overanalytical, so I would kind of fight the air instead of relaxing and letting the air do the work for me. I still have this trouble, so I'll tell you it's not easy to relax, but just don't worry about doing every little thing right immediately. The instructors shouldn't let you out of the plane unless you know what you're supposed to do. So, just relax and let yourself do it. That's what it took for me, I had to think about what I wanted to do as I was preparing, then once I got out there, I just had to stop thinking and let it happen. It will come! Marc
  11. I'll pay that one on CASA weekend... I swear! Heh...
  12. Congratulations! I knew you'd make it! Marc
  13. Beer beer beer beer beer... hehe! Hell I'm too lazy to type all that pre-second... 1st four-way and 1st jump with a dz.commer... man that jump was so much fun, even if I funneled the exit and lost the formation once we broke! I'll get better though, one of these days I'll be able to turn points, trust me! Thanks again Anne! Marc

    Frustration

Hey Fred--just more of the same here, but it helps to hear it over and over again. I was in the same position you were, hell, I did 6 15-second delays before getting passed to 20, and even then I was still having problems. It's the hardest thing to do at this point, but really, the best thing you can do is relax, just like everybody said. If you're relaxed and really arching, everything else becomes much easier. I have 36 jumps and still have trouble relaxing, but it's coming. What it takes for me is to consciously think about it, in the plane, climing out, on the hill, in freefall, constantly. Yeah, then they tell you all this other stuff you have to do, like "check your altimeter" and "pull your ripcord". But if you can remember to do that stuff and keep thinking RELAX, it becomes much easier. Keep coming back, you'll get it! Marc
  15. I like listening to appropriate music to get me going on the drive to the DZ... but on the plane, just looking out the door, at all the other jumpers, talking to everybody--this gets me pumped enough as it is! 'Course I've only got 34 jumps and as such I get an adrenaline rush from looking at the sky on a clear day, just imagining flying through it...
  16. Ummm... I think I'll have to pass on that one. Last time I was out there he was telling me about someone else doing a naked jump, so he got ahold of his clothes, waited until the guy was under canopy and could see him, put the clothes in his truck and went home. Funny for everybody but the naked guy a thousand feet up... Marc
  17. Hey thanks everybody! Hahaha... I don't remember posting that at all... Hangover rating--around 3 if I remember the scale correctly... Marc
  18. Yay! It's my birthdaay! And I'm having a good time!! Amd don't worry, I'll wait until sunday to jump! Blue skies! Me
  19. Ahem. So I say yes, and I'm bringing some guys who have never tried it but I want to convert... Marc
  20. I'm just surprised nobody's mentioned anything about getting spanked, or premature deployments...
  21. Wow, dude, that rocks! I've always thought the F-16 is just about the coolest airplane ever built. Have fun man... Marc
  22. Awesome dude! Ain't life grand? Marc
  23. Just picked up the rig I'm probably gonna buy... ooh is it beautiful or what... Vector III, black with purple, red, and silver pinstriping, Triathlon 135 and a PD150 reserve, one year old Cypres... it hasn't been jumped in a year, so I'm taking it to get the reserve repacked this weekend, and hopefully by next weekend I'll be ready to jump it... HOOWAHH!!! I'll only be loading the main at about 1:1, but I gotta step my way down to that from the 210 I'm flying now... My roommate thinks I'm nuts because I was wearing it for like an hour, just looking at it, arching, touching all the handles... hahaha, weeeeee...! Blue skies and good deals, Marc
  24. Wow, that's pretty intense. Glad to hear you made it through and will jump again! Marc
