Fitness Fools...POST February 15th-February 22!
SkydiveStMarys replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
So far I ran 6.66 miles this week. A little low for me but I am getting my hair highlighted tomorrow morning at the Salon and I plan to run there and back. THAT should make up for any miles that I didn't run during the week!! I let ya know how it goes. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. -

Frying pan up side the head. Throw Momma from the train. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. -
Well his parents aren't in the picture. Its the story of Grandparents raising the grandkids. This kids grandmother is waaaay out of her league. I spoke to the principal about her and this kids situation and he basically told me that the grandmother has no clue as to how to handle this kid. She can't meet his emotional needs, physical needs, or mental needs. The kids parents are..Mom, is a drug addict, and his father is in jail. Older brother was alot like his younger brother and has since tried to straighten out his life. The older brother works for the city and now has a baby. The older brother confronted my SO this afternoon and aaked my SO if he had a problem with his little brother. My SO said nothing that the police can't handle. My SO said that the brother sounded somewhat aggressive but after my SO's reply the older brother dropped the conversation. I am guessing because if he did push the matter he could potentially loose his city job. I just don't get why this family thinks its everyone and isn't looking at the kid. I know my son isn't a saint, and I would back him IF he wasn't in the wrong, but the evidence is there. The kid is on tape and there are three witnesses that state that this kid wailed on my son. Thisa kid was yet again, outside at a friends house. If my kid was suspended from school he would be grounded for a very long time and wouldn't see the light of day until he returned back to school. I just don't get it. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

I don't think this Grandmother is blind to this boys actions. The mother is a crack addict, father is in jail, and there is no Grandfather. The older brother who is twenty something is just as rotten. The Grandmother is old and tired and waaay out of her league. She needs help in raising this child. Yep, the police sargent swung by the house with the paper work to fill out. He said he would be back to pick it up and I told him that I would personally deliver it to the schools resource officer tomorrow morning. I mean for the kid to be even allowed out of the house and not be grounded for life...its obvious that the Grandmother has no control over this kid. Sad really. Oh the best part is that the 6th grader that was suspended from school, for how long ZI have no clue, was hanging around outside our house this afternoon. My SO ended up coming home early. My SO told him to go home, that he had no business being there and the 6th grader proceeded to call him every name in the book and then proceeded to tell my SO that our son was a pu**y. My SO had enough, went to the 6th graders house and proceeded to tell his grandmother to do something about his son. We called the officer who we have been dealing with and he suggested to file a report about this incident and he will take it to the DA with the other report about the bus incident. This kid is going up the river!!! I truly hope he gets the help he needs. To take to an adult that way is inexcusable!!! Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

I heard their one duet together and really liked it. Interesting combo. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude. -
Just an update: The school will be pressing charges against both boys. The bruises were significant enough and three kids testified and basically said exactly what my son stated in his statement. Since the school is pressing charges I won't be. My son may have to appear in court but he says he can handle that and doesn't want any other kids to be treated the way he was by these boys. I'm proud of him and extremely happy as to how swiftly the school has handled this situation. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

Exactly "the real" world. Exactly what my SO said to the principal last night on the phone. Do one thing at school but in the "real" world do something else. What kind of mixed message does that send the kid? Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

I just think that a kid should get suspended for fighting back. Suspend the kid that threw the first punch. Thats the way it was back when I went to school and we didn't have the school violence that they do now because they make the kids stuff their emotions in. I DO appreciate you insight and your kind words...always have always will. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

BUT when a child defends himself he is not being a victim. My whole thing with the school policy of not defending ones self and taking evasive action, makes these kids feel somewhat like a victim and thus pushed to the point of bringing a gun to school because they have been bullied months upon months or years upon years. I would suspect there wouldn't so many bullies out there if kids were able to "take it outside" and be done with it once and for all. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. You know, its not merely being afraid to fight. The school policy states that the person defending himself will too get suspended AND when you are suspended you can't make up the work that you miss. We are all for my son defending himself but he can't on school property. So he took it because, 1 he didn't want to get suspended and two he didn't want to come across as a snitch or a pussy by telling an adult. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. Very interesting discussion indeed. Maybe I can get the bitch fired. If she is not part of the solution, which she isn't, she is indeed part of the problem. We need caring individuals working and teaching our kids, warm bodies need not apply. I don't care if your "just a bus driver." Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. He starts weight training on the 19th and will do that two days a week after school. He goes back for his second year of baseball late March. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

The older kid comes from a single parent household. he is being raised by his father and three older brothers. He is the youngest. BUT get this, the second kid that beat on my son IS suspended from riding the bus he rode (he sneaked on, he's black and on crutches so its not like he blends in) the bus wendesday AND friday!! Is the bus driver not aware of his suspension?? Does she not give a shit?? Oh this just keeps getting better and better . I can't believe I am going to say this, but I can't WAIT til Monday comes!!! Yes. You mess with one of us and you get the package deal. We won't have an official name. But we will form an alliance. A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.

Well to bring everyone up to speed. The kid that is my sons age that beat on him yesterday is supposed to be suspended off the bus for the whole year. WTF was he doing back on the bus is anyones guess but rest assured shit will hit the fan over that one. The older kid we will be taking legal matters against him. From what I understand he is picking on my son to make him "man up". But that is no excuse. he has picked on three boys in the neighborhood and two girls. he needs to be stopped. And I am the woman for the job!! His friends have his back. Talking to all the friends at the bus stop and who ride the bus with him AND their parents we have come to the conclussion that the kids MUST band together and watch each others back. If either of these kids (the bullies) are caught alone, watch out!! One poster replied and stated that I was calm and cool and by now he would be in jail because of his conviction for the welfare of his family. Trust me when I say this, myself and my sons father would like nothing more then to go down there and beat the livin' shit out of him and his father. But we have can't deal with this half cocked. We can't afford to be hurt or thrown in jail. Our kids need us at home and to be stable. Bobbi A miracle is not defined by an event. A miracle is defined by gratitude.
