Color sand that sucker! It'll really make that blue shine! I painted mine when I painted my bike a couple years ago, man, buffing that sucker was a B*TCH! No way to secure the helmet in place, and the buffer just wanted to throw it everywhere. I think if I were to do it more often, I'd definately get a manican (sp?) head. Looks pretty good, especially for a bomb can job! ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

Have you had a car accident driving to a dz

IMO Skydiving is definately safer, atleast I feel more comfortable skydiving than riding. Your story reminds me of a guy I met in a club in seattle. Some old guy, a regular, had himself convinced he could ride straighter than he could walk. Never saw him again after that night... ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw. -

Not a car... a few years back I had made my 2nd static line jump. On the way home, came around a blind corner and a mustang was crossing the center line. Pretty much all the variables were against me: glare, road banked the wrong way, grooves in the road, rough road where there wasnt grooves. Anyways, after a year of hunting and buying the bike I really wanted, I laid her down. Rashed my left love handle, tore the shoelace clean out of my right shoe, punched a few small holes in my back pack, and tore my jeans. I got pretty lucky, I was wearing only a helmet and gloves for gear. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw. -
How much ram is there in your computer? Trust me there is enough sand around for all of us. I donno the use cases of this problem. I rather define an xml dialect and we could have a common base. I've got 1gig. jump tickets > buy more sand. I'm not completely certain, but I'm willing to bet that the vast majority of riggers use Microsoft Windows or have access to a PC. Doesnt matter the language, but an executable would probably be the best solution. To get the kind of functionality that rigger-john is looking for, we're now looking at a relational database. While most riggers would preffer to have their data offline, it may be an advantage to use a web host as they implement backup solutions. It would suck to lose your disk or hard drive and have all your rigging info gone. Another advantage of a web based solution, (not sure of the value of this feature) a stolen serial number tracker would be simple to implement and keep current. It would also be simple to integrate a central repository of SB's as well. The last, and maybe most important, pro to a web based solution would be platform compatibility. Windows, Mac, and Linux/unix would all be able to seamlessly use it. I couldnt sleep last night, so I threw some brain cycles toward a digital rigging solution. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

Why Java? Everytime I load the JRE it seems to consume a large chunk of ram. A web based rigging solution would be super easy to build. It would be even easier to distribute and update. Most invoice type software should have that functionality as well, like quickbooks for example can track customer history and has search functions. I'm kinda tied up till after the 1st of the year (or later, lot of projects), but if there is an interest and nothing else is built between now and then, I'd put something together. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

Off topic and a Poll: Do you go on the internet at the Dropzone? I go to the dropzone to get away from daily life, even if it was there, I'll be damned if I ever use it. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

I solo jump all the time. I went jumping a week ago and all 3 jumps that day were solo's. The 3rd jump I followed the guy in front of me out the door and just tried to keep him in my view. I've got plenty of people to jump with, sometimes I just like doing my own thing, ya know? ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

There are a few options.... easiest first: Mysqlcc or Mysql Administrator should have the options to export a database. Mysql Administrator: http://www.mysql.com/products/administrator/ Mysqlcc: http://www.mysql.com/products/mysqlcc/ can you write any PHP? I wrote a small bit of code to dump my database to a text file. It makes it in a nice and easy to read text file that you could copy and paste into phpmyadmin or mysqlcc to recreate your database. I'm not sure if it will help you but here it is:

If you are running apache with mysql and decide to go the PHP route, here is an example:

Since you have a car I am familiar with.... With the timing belt, you are paying for labor. The belt itself is about $35 (probably less) for a business at Honda. As long as he is doing the belt, make sure he replaces the water pump as well. You are *supposed* to change the timing belt every 90,000 miles. Your car has only 1 catalytic converter. Depending on the model of civic, it is either right in front of the engine on the exhaust manifold or right behind the A pipe under the car. The 2nd thing that *looks* like a catalytic converter is actually a resonator, which dont typically need to be replaced. Depending on the pipes and hoses that have holes or are broken, if its an exhaust, you can buy a new complete *performance* system for around $500. Just be aware that at 120,000 miles you are getting to that point where things start getting worn. If you have a 5speed transmission, the clutch will start to go out as well above that mileage. Depending on how you drive, you may get more miles. If you were local I'd charge you about $100 + beer/pizza in labor, then there would be maybe $300 in parts tops. bummer. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

I paid a little over $2.80/gal in Edmonds, WA a couple weeks back, but its typically $2.30-$2.40 in WA. Never costs me more than $20 to fill the tank and I've been getting around 450Km to the tank, whatever that works out to be. I love my CRX :) ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

Weird.... Went to a friends house, I cooked taco's (pretty good BTW), then turned on boondock saints. Made it about 75% through the movie then switched to napoleon dynamite about 20 minutes later switched to office space, and about 30 minutes after that my cousin came over and we switched back to napoleon dynamite. Drank copious ammounts of alcohol and trying to keep my head on straight for a presentation at work this morning thats going worldwide... ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

You dont need to create any network disks. Your setup should have the linksys router assign your computers IP's (Internet Protocol Address's). If both machines can get on the internet, then they are both configured to talk to each other. In your network properties, check to make sure File and Printer Sharing is enabled. Windows XP has been "locked down" from the factory, so you will need to run the file and printer sharing wizard to allow access for computers on your local network. Once that is done, you can share files, folders, and printers. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

Well, Freeflir29 averages nearly 20 posts a day and AggieDave about 17 a day... Seems to me like they need a REAL job! Thats what, 20 posts per day for 3.5 years to get that many posts...... put the internet down.... ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

She's a *gasp* whuffo. Pretty cool surfer chick though. Thought about picking up a surf video for her. surfing makes her eyes light up like skydiving does mine. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

There are some really good ideas in this thread. Some of them are a little extreme for today but I will keep them in the back of my mind for later. If any one else has feedback, by all means, keep it coming. Thank you all.

help! I'm terrible at this! long story short, she is graduating college in a week and is really swamped with finals, and other projects she has to complete on time. Last night she called me in tears because somehow all of her work for 2 classes that was stored on a floppy disk was lost. She's going to be at school in the computer lab from 7am to 10pm today, so I told her when I get off of work I would bring her dinner. She is really special to me and I would like to get her something small to show that I really care about her. I am struggling to come up with an idea that screams "Thats it!" Guys: what would you give a girl to show that she meant alot to you? Girls: what have guys given you to make you feel special or what would make you feel special to receive? I really appreciate your feedback. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

What about lesson 4? "Sit on the ground when the winds exceed what you are comfortable and confident landing in." I am probably wrong about windspeed. I know it was about 50mph up top and it may have been 20-25 at around 3,000. the glide angle was more vertical than horizontal though and claimed a victim or two. lesson 4 was moot, there was no beer. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

I really wish I would have gotten it in camera. I'm still rather green at this sport, though catching on fast. First time landing in decently windy conditions (I think about 20-25MPH ground winds is what the winds report said). should have been coming down nice and easy.... Lesson 1: pull toggles evenly when flairing Lesson 2: pull toggles all the way when flairing Lesson 3: the situation only worsens when trying to put your hand down for impact and the toggle is still attached. Everyone advised me to continue flying my canopy through the landing... I guess I need to figure out what they meant. ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.

I learned that in windy situations, I can land on my feet only 1 out of 5 times. Can you say human lawn torpedo? ________________________________________ I have proof-read this post 500 times, but I guarantee you'll still manage to find a flaw.
