I'm really not sure the direction of this. If there is no regulation . . . You want me to beat 'em up?
-
No, Joe. Not at all. Then why don't you just drop your fleet of a/c as the great example of how not to add CO2 to the environment. Why are there laws at all? I understand. You've made it clear several times.
-
177,000+ in the last war would disagree with you - if they could. That law-abiding trope is what makes the difference between chaos & order. To be direct, I'm thankful most combat vets can integrate back into societal norms. Not even close to saying that. Until the law is changed, why would they surrender their guns. You've made it clear that it's all just a schtick.

That's his M.O. He doesn't add or contribute. He tears down. He didn't say - that's a good plan (like others), but here's some things to consider making it better (like others). All he does is pull some one line from somebody's post and hollers, "Gotchya!!" I'm just done with it and have blocked him.

I spent fucking days developing the Gun Responsibility Bill before this thread was developed about five years ago. I replaced it in this thread. I've spent hours encouraging my friends on both sides of the aisle to send it to their representatives. I even made it easy by suggesting the NFA be used for all weapons since it seems to be lawful since no one has taken it to court. That's how I got serious. In light of the lack of gun responsibility laws enacted to minimize the shootings, then our only recourse is providing security measures. Now, I don't know if you're close enough to the line for a ban, but you're passed my line for being blocked. Done.

You know they do. Probably 90% of my friends are combat vets from one, two or three wars. They were trained on it, they've seen what an AR platform rifle can do and in many cases have used it on the enemy. But, they are also law-abiding.
-
Not to think for us. They gave us a blueprint of what would legally pass. We don't do that. If the NFA is legal; why not put all weapons under a revised NFA? And, how's that worked so far? I have none. Zero. I have nothing that even resembles a military style weapon. Sporting rifles and shotguns.

Deal.

No argument, Brother. It's a knee-jerk reaction to the core problem of not having responsible gun laws. There were gun laws when we were growing up. It's changed a lot since 2008. There are ways to pass those laws and even SCOTUS laid out the blueprint, but no one is acting on it.

Yeah. Jakee of course I am. See, this is why I block you at times - not contributing solutions, looking for bits and pieces of what people post just to keep it going in an ongoing circular loop. Setting up for the spike. Just add to the conversation, man.
-
You're mistaken - that is EXACTLY their job and if they can't do it, then don't put on the pretty blue uniform.
-
TSA. 3 million people per day. Campus Police - Only those who are not students. Not hard.
-
I meant to say, "not" responding. You want to have a conversation, let's do that, but leave the jabs elsewhere. To your point, we had this discussion after the pussies at Uvalde didn't respond in time. They could have saved many and I don't care what they said . . . they fucking stood there and listened while children died. We all saw the video. They should have been dead before those children. We have enough money to help Ukraine, we have enough money to protect our future.
-
I'm responding to the snarky thing
-
You coming to hurt children. You die.
-
We agree, Bill.

I wouldn't have imagined the need. P.S. Active Shooter Drills suck. An active shooter shouldn't even make it on the school grounds before getting dumped.

Post trump Legal Actions, Including his Enablers

Truth. A Republican PAC aimed at a more moderate platform - not unlike VoteVets.org is Democratic and more moderate. I applaud the direction back towards the center from both sides of the aisle. Or, I'm just tired of hearing that screeching sound to cause more division from the extreme sides. -

So, you're a bullshit artist? -
Truth. I use the Google news feed so I can see & sort thru the silliness of extremism. After a bit of "programmatic" selection - it becomes manageable.

Truth. I don't know how much of an effect that would be - Whenever he pops up on my feed, this going thru my head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jTHNBKjMBU -
After you get past the CNN slant - it has been an on-going "Stop the Bleed" program. Within the article cited, "Anderson said. 'This course should not be affiliated with gun violence. This is about helping people that are bleeding in any scenario.' " I sometimes think they do this so when called on it - they can say, "Well, we put that quote in there." Knowing damn well it was buried so deep most won't read it. Before you jump on me - there's two things to acknowledge. 1) I once climbed up Sky's ass about the US as a Banana Republic. When the now leading cause of death in children over car accidents is a fucking gun. We have a problem that everyone talks about, but NEITHER side is actually doing a damn thing about it - it becomes a political cycle talking point. 2) You know my position on the Gun Responsibility Act. Now, if you'll excuse me, Bill thinks I need to go stop a clown from reading to kids.

Interesting. It will be a race. I don't "think" Trump will win, but I've been wrong before. -

You may be shocked by how few from both sides know this. It's a growing list. https://rvat.org/#testimonials -
AGAIN not citing his source, cherry-picking, nor telling the whole story. Coal 2023 sees global demand for coal rising by 1.4% in 2023, surpassing 8.5 billion tonnes for the first time. The global increase masks stark differences among regions. Consumption is on course to decline sharply in most advanced economies in 2023, including record drops in the European Union and United States of around 20% each. Demand in emerging and developing economies, meanwhile, remains very strong, increasing by 8% in India and by 5% in China in 2023 due to rising demand for electricity and weak hydropower output. . . . Meanwhile, China, India and Indonesia – the three largest coal producers globally – are expected to break output records in 2023, pushing global production to a new high in 2023. These three countries now account for more than 70% of the world’s coal production. https://www.iea.org/news/global-coal-demand-expected-to-decline-in-coming-years
