Green light = jump Red light = No jump When no lights, DZO's, S&TA's, Instructors, and skydivers need to have an SOP regarding verbal commands. For example: Skydive! Jump!, etc. could mean your free to go. Stop!, Stop!, Stop!! could mean don't jump. EMERGENCY EXIT!!! EMERGENCY EXIT!!! EMERGENCY EXIT!!! Means get the hell outta the plane. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I like your style. How does the pilot communicate forecasted winds aloft vs. actual winds aloft so the jumpers know what the separation should be? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

According to the architect looking over my shoulder at work; it would appear to be more mediterranean than spanish (perhaps Spain-ish). The arches are called segmental. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

You did the right thing. The pilot ain't jumping - you are. I know I'm gonna catch some $h!t for this, but my rule is; the pilot has control of the aircraft until the door is open. Once that door comes open, jump safety becomes my responsibility. I remember a time when pilots worked with the jumpers rather than with the GPS. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Let me begin by saying I'm not a rigger. However, I am an Anvil Brother at 265# out the door. Having said that, according to John Sherman (1997), "Let us say you are in a high speed, spinning malfunction and you have to cutaway. You have a mini ring set on your risers and they are manufactured poorly, and only have a mechanical advantage of 12 to 1. You weigh 200lb. with gear and are spinning so fast that you are pulling about 3 G's, which results in a load of 600lb. on your risers. The load on your yellow cable at the loop is therefore fifty pounds. The yellow cable will pull through the grommet at sixty pounds. Unless your cable is well oiled and you are very strong, you won't be able to cut away. Believe me, I have been there." (Ref: http://www.zct.co.uk/skydivemag/pages/articles/oct97/kitnews.htm There will be newer information provided from Master Riggers and Senior Riggers to this thread which may refute my opinion of - Guys our size shouldn't exceed the weight limitations of our equipment; whether its risers, 3-rings or reserve sizes. I jump Type 8 risers, standard 3-rings and have a 249 Dash M reserve. My Main is a Safire2 169 (300#) As for the slinks, there is enough evidence to suggest they are stronger than metal connectors, but I must admit that psychologically for me; I'm still having difficulty wrapping my brain around it. What we do can be dangerous enough with the right equipment, why risk it with smaller equipment. I've yet to have someone in freefall point at my large 3-rings or Type 8 risers and hold there nose while pointing at me. (Well, at least not for my gear ) Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I would strongly encourage you to try on as many helmets as possible prior to purchasing. They are expensive and everyone wil have a reason as to why you should buy what they bought. It's your choice and your noggin. Decide what's best for you. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Best learned by your local Instructor or rigger. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Where: Throw a dart at the map. Why: It's where the dart hit. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

As to your Dad, my solution would be to knock out the "second half of the freefall" and just deploy the main canopy high. If he liked the canopy ride a lot, give him mostly canopy ride. As for your wife; ask the pilot to let her drive. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Skydiving Fundraisers...ideas/thoughts?
BIGUN replied to Spudmuffin's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
FYI... If it is a charity "sponsored" fundraiser, most will require event insurance. However, Skydiving "X" can have a fundraiser, whereby the monies can be donated to the charity. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. -
AFP = Advanced Freefall Progression. Three tandems, then FJC, then depending on how the student did can move towards AFF Cat C or D on their fourth jump. There's more to it in the USPA SIMS. IAD = Instructor Assisted Deployment - basically the same as static-line, however, the instructor hold the students pilot chute and throws it aft when the student releases the strut. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
-
You still do that. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I voted Yes and Other. Like the others, if its a second or third tandem in a reasonably short period of time, I'll ask them how creative they want to get (backflips) and take it to terminal. Other - because if they have video on the dive... Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

If you'd really like to talk about them good-'ol days http://www.digidome.nl/ibmhall.htm Built my first 8088 in 1988 (only way I remember is 88's). It had a whopping 20 meg hard drive and I was the shits. Folks would ask me, "What are you going to do with all that hard drive space?" And, I would reply, "Anything I want." Had it and used it until 1992 when I went to grad school and to save money; again built my own machine. It was a 386SX25 saved almost three hundred bucks building it myself and it still cost almost $2500.00. A month after grad school started, the 486 came out and I was so torqued. You kids these days don't know how easy you have it. emachines, Dells for $499.00 bundles, VPN, wireless networks, XP, Linux software. Back in my day, we had to slog through three feet of snow to the server that paged us or go into the office on weekends because some VP decided to work and lost the path statement to the printer. Yeah, you kids got it easy these days. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

And, even if you decided to become a gamer, use two monitors, whatever; you can always buy a video card with memory on it. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I'm thinking not. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Are you venting or are you asking for assistance in resolving the situation for all parties involved? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Good price. You may wish to take some time to stair-step down according to BillVon's checklist along each step from the 210 in your profile to the 150. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

If you PM a moderator to lock the thread, it will be buried and forgetten in a week. I know I did until it resurfaced this morning. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

After reading the thread, would it be safe to say, "The Vigil was programmed in student mode and the activation altitude had been adjusted + 450 feet by DZ staff to offset for the higher landing DZ elevation. The Vigil fired at the requisite 1040 ft (AGL) /45 MPH as intended by the manufacturer?" Secondly, I would like to know the status of the Vigil. There have been so many, use, don't use, partial recall, total recalls running around that I don't know what the status is. Cool website - easy to navigate. Join the military, go to Iraq and get 50% off from Mirage or Wings.... Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Like you said, you already know my argument. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

No. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I'm fairly confident that this is about the only bipartisan issue. Until we take money out of politics, or cap it, or change it, or something, this has and always will be the case. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I'll bet you money, you won't be able to outtrack me. Game on? Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
