Ok. I'm going to Orlando on January 6th (Thursday) and will be around until Monday the 10th. I have a place to crash in Orlando...now I'm just looking for the nearest/best dropzone. I've been hinted towards Lake Wales...anyone have any recommendations? Thanks again

Hey all! I'm a new jumper (this summer) from Illinois, and am lookin to make a trip to florida in January to jump for a weekend. I would be travelling by myself, and on a tight budget. I'm lookin for the warmest/cheapest/most fun accomodations. I don't wanna' fly with my camping stuff, so a bunkhouse or cheap hotel would rock! Also, closeness to an airport is key because I won't really have transportation. Thanks for any info!!

Hey there, I just started jumpin this summer at Chicagoland Skydiving in Hinckley, IL. I've got 45 jumps and am A-licensed. I was wondering if anyone who jumps at skydive chicago often could answer a couple questions for me. Do they put up a decent amount of loads on weekdays? Are there packers during the week, for fun-jumpers? (I'm still not too efficient packing) And..are they generally pretty cool with people who are new to both skydiving and the dropzone? I've heard some bad things about certain dropzones and new people. Thanks! They can't catch us. We're on a mission from God.

I participated in a 3-way hybrid jump with 2 other people that have the same, or close to the same amount of jumps as myself (not many). Also, I've done a few 2-ways and a couple 4-ways with people close to my experience level (which isn't much). I'd never heard of two newbies not bein able to jump together. Maybe me and my friends are being a little careless, but it really doesn't seem like it. I feel comfortable, so do they. Everything has been successful. Good luck to ya. They can't catch us. Hey JJ, It was Rock that told me to try the whole eyes-closed thing. I think I remember you tellin' me to go barefoot to feel the wind. Looks like I'll just hafta' get out there and try it all. Won't be up there this weekend, have a wedding. See you next weekend. Mike They can't catch us. We're on a mission from God.

I have a quick question regarding some advice that was given to me. As you can see, I'm a new jumper. I've got 40 jumps, about 10 have been sitting. I was recently told by a rather experienced, and skilled jumper at my DZ that he was told, when at my stage, to close his eyes for a few seconds when trying to sit. Of course, this would be away from others, etc... He said that because you can't rely on your vision, all you can feel is the wind. It makes sense, and would seem that it would be helpful in getting in correct position/understanding the wind. Flying blind seems to be a bit dangerous to me. Has anyone else heard this/tried this/or comment on this for me? Thank you very much!

I didn't get to go to Rantoul. I really wanted to, but after finishing AFF, gettin to 37 jumps, buyin my gear, and everything else, I'm pretty short on cash. I'll check it out next year for sure. They can't catch us. We're on a mission from God.
