  1. I actually thought it was the worst Eleventh Doctor episode so far. Still good, but not quite as good as it could have been. I think they could have done much more if they made it a two part episode instead of cramming it all in to one.
  2. Huge fan of the books, I read all four in the few weeks before the TV show premiere. I'm a little disappointed in how much information they have drop to be able to get the entire story in 10 episodes. My biggest complaint is how they portray the Drogo/Dany relationship, very different from what's in the book. If you only read one book this year, read A Game of Thrones. You won't be disappointed.
  3. Yes, I voted about half democrat, half republican, and one libertarian. I left whatever I wasn't informed about blank because I can't stand people that vote for something they know nothing about.
  4. My sister played the character Cheryl in that movie. I was lucky enough to see it about a year ago and have watched it a couple more times since then. Definitely one of the better indie comedies out there.
  5. Translation: "I'll put others at risk just so I can get to my destination 3 minutes faster than if I followed the rules of the road. If I get caught, I'll just buy my way out of the ticket. Safety be damned"!

    Lost???

So far, I'm not a big fan of this season. Hopefully it will be like the latest season of Dexter, where it starts out kind of slow then charges on like a freight train.
  8. They test MPG under ideal, and street illegal conditions. From what I last saw, they do testing at peak performance speed, usually 50-55 mph, without the muffler on, without air resistance, without passengers in the car, etc, etc. If you drive on the road to get the best MPG, you shouldn't have trouble getting somewhat close to the sticker MPG. Accelerate slowly, don't drive over 55, coast down hills, coast as much as possible when coming to stop signs, follow behind tractor-trailers on the highway and your MPG will increase dramatically (assuming you're like the average driver who does the opposite of all the things I just listed).
  9. Katee Sackhoff, hands down the most badass chick on the list.
  10. But aren't the sellers just enabling all the perverts? Makes 'em just as creepy in my book, but a little more business savvy. Gotcha there.
  11. I recently attended a lecture about sex around the world given by Dr. Janell Carroll http://www.drjanellcarroll.com/wordpress/ In the lecture, she played some video of one of her visits to japan, they have stores all over the place where you can go in and buy used panties. Prices ranged from $5 to $100 USD depending on whether or not there was photo proof of them being worn, style, and the attractiveness of the girl wearing the panties. There's a large market for this type of thing in Japan, and might be elsewhere as well. It's pretty creepy for us, but quite normal over there.
  12. The brats you get at McDonald's are Johnsonville brats. At least they were when I worked there during high school.
  13. Beck's not going anywhere. Palin needs him for VP. On my way to a family reunion yesterday, I saw a sign painted in a window that said "Palin/Beck 2012", I couldn't stop laughing.
  14. 15. If you're already active, I don't see why not. There was a NOVA program on earlier this year that took 9 couch potatoes and trained them to run a marathon in 9 months or so. Every one of them completed the marathon. If I remember correctly, it took them 3 months to get to the 4 mile mark. If you work as hard as they did, I would think you'd be able to finish it.

    Wine-o's

Stay away from "Supermarket Wines" (Clos du Bois, Turning Leaf, Yellowtail, Beringer, etc. etc.) There are so many better wines out there that you've never heard of for the same price. Try to broaden your selection and buy more than just the popular varietals. http://tv.winelibrary.com/ There's a great daily video blog done by Gary Vaynerchuck at the above link. His personality is a little out there, but he has some very informative shows that are great for beginners and enthusiasts alike. His show has been a great source for finding new wines to try.
  17. Did anyone else laugh when he started singing near the end? Some people have too much crazy in them to get their message across successfully.

    Kings

NBC might have changed their minds on canceling this show. They changed the next episode from being the series finale to just a season finale. It's looking like it might get picked up as a summer show. Keep your fingers crossed.
  19. I hadn't seen a single episode of CSI until I watched that one. I'm glad I never watched it, that episode was horrible. For a show that gets something like 12 million viewers weekly, you'd think that they could hire better actors and do more research.
  20. Blue October - The End http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrK5j-VXl6o Listen to it the whole way through. Very interesting song, I'd like to know the whole story behind this one.
  21. You left out the option of "I support gay marriage and not civil unions". Civil unions can be seen as another form of discrimination. Most people I know that support gay marriage do not support civil unions.
  22. That's odd. I just got one of these from my Huntington Visa bank card, too.

    Kings

I have to agree with you on that point. Unless it's a on a cable network, writing on TV shows has been sub par the past few years. I guess they need to dumb it down to appeal to a broader audience. Compared to everything else NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox put on the air, though, it's some of the better writing on right now.

    Kings

Did anyone else watch the premier of Kings (Sunday at 8pm)? It's easily one of the best shows on TV right now but no one knows about it because of NBC's lack of promotion If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend you seeking it out before it goes off the air due to lack of an audience.
