Jeb's and Luigi's wingsuit flight under the Christ Statue in Rio
swanmaestro replied to iiro's topic in Archive
I'm pretty sure you're talking about Rob Tompkins...and knowing intimately the circumstances surrounding his final jump...all I have to say is: The only thing Rob Tompkins was flying proximal to was his EGO before he POUNDED into the talus. speaking ill of the dead, or anyone for that matter = bad karma sucks to femur in ground launching eh -
Dude, that's your sister
-
That's cause you're a feeble old man, JJ - suck it up! Two very swollen ankles are all I'll cop to - climbing injuries worse - ACL's sound like a gunshot when they blow :(

I just bought another iTrip, the first one I had worked great, the new version sometimes takes a second or two to switch on - make sure the volume on your ipod is only halfway and use the stereo volume for the rest otherwise you will have loads of static/background noise.

Has anyone seen this Switchfoot Video - Good footage!

Static line jumpers, best to ignore them?
swanmaestro replied to artistcalledian's topic in The Bonfire
I think the static line program is a very good program, it just focusses more on exit body position and canopy flight.. I agree. I have absolutely no statistics, reliable information or personal knowledge to back up this claim, but that's why skydivers who learned on the dope rope make better BASE jumpers. Hooray for Lisa! Thanks girl -
It rocks! The Antonov is so much fun to jump from and the views are unbelievable. The people are great too

Missed you last night @ the greenie but it's going to have to be after the 28th of June cause I'm off to NY and Venezuela for 3 weeks. 4th of July, definitely. C-ya soon!

I just got lucky, although I did ground crew for all 4 objects combined over 100 times. I was injured for awhile before I could skydive and learned as much as I could before I got into the air. I had a friend who turned me onto BASE who went in in 2002, went to BD that year and watched and learned. My favorite saying is from Tom A, "You don't find BASE, it finds you." How true, now I couldn't get away if I tried
