Question about Digital camera's ISO Setting(s)
SuperKat replied to SuperKat's topic in Photography and Video
If a camera has a max ISO with best quality setting of 1600, is that good or bad? I thought the lower the setting the better the quality. Thanks in advance for your help. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo? -
I totally agree with this video. This is probably the best example on how to notify a LEO that you are carrying a weapon on your person during a car stop. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

What is the term for a fingernail specialist (doctor)?
SuperKat replied to SuperKat's topic in The Bonfire
1. Does a podiatrist treat toenail problems? 2. What specialist would treat fingernail problems? 3. Is there one doctor that treats problems for both fingernails and toenails? Thanks in advance! What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo? -

Acquittals in Sean Bell's shooting spark outrage
SuperKat replied to CameraNewbie's topic in Speakers Corner
NJSkydiver: I agree with the majority of posters here. all cops want to do is take away your civil rights and shoot to kill the minorities! NJSkydiver: cops are crooked, cops are evil, and they do not respect citizens of this country. the cops went out that night with intentions to arrest and hurt someone, it's a given otherwise they would be in a police car eating donuts. I'm glad I'm not the only one here that hates cops. I went back and read a few posts. That was my error...I was wrong to say so much hate, so much anger towards cops. I believe only one person really blatently admitted to that. You're not a fan of Dane Cook? That skit was hilarious. Not smoking...I'm on Vicodin, Nexium, Claritin D & Mucinex. Acquittals in Sean Bell's shooting spark outrage

All I can say about this thread is WOW. So much hate....so much anger towards pigs....I love you all because Jesus loves you and the latter is no joke. I'm going to be like that character in Dane Cook's "Someone Shit on the Coats" all youre going to do at some point, youre going to lean in and go, What!?! And then blend back into the crowd... What?! I hope that it wasnt on my coat. And then, boom, youre a phantom, you just disappear, disappear. You're comparing two different worlds here. It's like asking a freeflyer how to do a meeker exit and like asking a belly flyer what's the best way to transition from a sit position to headdown. All undercover police officers can be become uniform police officers but not all uniform police officers can become undercover police officers. Sincerely... Blue Skies & God bless! Thanks but I've seen Saw and all its sequels. It wasn't a gruesome, bloody or chop you into bits kind of movie. It was more like a thriller type movie. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

I remember this movie was released sometime after 2004. There are about a dozen or so people who wake up trapped in a room or a warehouse, not knowing how they got there. Then it's revealed that one of people trapped with them is their abductor but no one knows who it is exactly? Edit to add: It's not Saw or any of its sequels either. wool sounds like it could be a possible plan. Thanks. Unfortunately, I can't bring an extra pair of socks with me on duty. I can't go elsewhere to change into new socks anyhow because I am on a fixed post. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

I haven't tried the gloves but I will definitely give it a shot. I used to wear 3 layers of socks and my feet would still freeze. My boots just suck in the cold. However, I have to wear regulation boots. Unfortunately, they're not really ideal for cold climate weather. My body is not the problem. I use expedition weight base layers. The problem is I need gloves that retain heat, that are not bulky and will not restrict movement on my hands. Unfortunately, when we have fixed posts there's really not much movement or walking around that you can do. Thanks for the tip though. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

I always make sure I have a tad bit more room in my boots for wearing double socks. A fixed foot post means no car. You're on your feet all day and you cannot leave your post. Basically, you have to keep watch on your post for us to show omnipresence. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

Let me get straight to the point here, folks. I've been doing fixed foot posts in 5-20 degree weather for about 8-10 hrs which means I'm not moving around much to stay warm. Basically, my feet and hands suffer the most so I did a quick research and found these products below. I've already wasted about $60 on windproof gloves that were too bulky and on two pairs of 40 degree below socks which didn't do crap for my frozen feet. Therefore, I am prepared to go the expensive route. I know quite a few of you here hunt and your activity is usually low to stay stealth and what not so I figured you would probably know best. Let me know what you think of these products or feel free to suggest other products as well. Thanks in advance!

Clicky RELEASE RATE NEAR DOUBLE THIS YEAR By BRENDAN SCOTT December 9, 2007 -- With three robbery convictions on his record, Derek Giddins could have spent the rest of his life behind bars. Instead, the 46-year-old ex-con went free this year. Just before midnight on July 23, Giddins and another man allegedly barged through the front door of Nilufar Yasmin's Queens home with a gun in his hand and a black ski mask over his face. They stole jewelry, attacked Yasmin's father, and held a gun to her head, according eyewitness and police accounts. Giddins, a career thief who had spent much of his adult life in state prison, was among 161 New York City murderers, robbers and other violent felons freed during the first six months of Gov. Spitzer's administration. The high number was found by a Post review of thousands of prison inmate release records. Those city residents paroled included 60 convicted killers and 92 facing the prospect of life in prison, such as Giddins, who had been denied parole six times before, The Post found. Parole Board releases have suddenly risen after years of steady decline. Some 35 percent of eligible inmates have won parole this year, up from an all-time low of 28 percent during Gov. George Pataki's last year in Albany, The Post found. The increase has been sharpest among murderers and other top-level offenders, who have prevailed in 14 percent of their parole hearings, up from less than 8 percent in 2006. The Post investigation also found that of the 161 hardened criminals let back on city streets by the Parole Board, at least five, including Giddins, were arrested for new crimes shortly after getting out. * James Tapp, 43, was freed two years early from his 21-year robbery rap in February, despite a record of prison misbehavior. Four months later, he was arrested again for robbery, after flashing a knife at a Bronx store clerk who questioned the clothes he had stuffed in a bag, police say. * Thomas Sanchez, 21, was let out in January, 10 months before his 2004 robbery sentence was to expire. In June, prosecutors say, Sanchez was among three men who surrounded a couple on a street corner near the Brooklyn Navy Yard and stole cash, a pocketbook and a cellphone. He was charged with robbery. Anyone know any pro-bono child custody lawyers in puerto rico?

I heard that one of these were so realistic it feels as if you're actually flying the plane. I'm buying an X-mas gift for my buddy who is currently in flight school. I think this would be an ideal gift to get him. However, I'd like to get the most realistic feel simulator video game for him. Do you think buying him a Flight Simulator Yoke and Rudder pedals would be overkill? Would it make a difference or is it just a waste of money? Thanks in advance for all your help. Edit to add: I didn't realize there were other flight simulator games out there. If you can tell me of others that have a more realistic feel to actually flying a plane, please let me know. The description on their website mentioned that it's near the piers. The only place huge enough to hold that would probably be Chelsea Piers. The website mentioned opening in Fall 2007. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?
