Of course we can, but if you and others keep replying to posts, how can you end the thread? What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

As usual I stand corrected by Billvon. Who knows why christians judge those that are not saved. I personally don't believe they should do that. Christians are taught to not judge others but to pray for them. I suppose if a christian were to be judgemental on others that are not saved, that person should be viewed as an individual. I get a little annoyed at those christians that pass judgement on others and gossip about others that are not saved. Christians fall out of grace quite often. We're not superhuman. It's very difficult to maintain your christianity in this world. There are just too many temptations that Christians face. However, Christians are taught to not think so highly of themselves and lowly of those that are not saved. As I said before, should a christian boast about their being saved and passing judgement on others that are not saved will one day be judged by others. That's where you are misled my friend. We all get judged when our time comes. Christian don't claim to have a corner market on spaces in heaven. A christian cannot boast about being saved and know that they will go to heaven and mock others, judge others or criticize others if they're not saved. If they do, they're not doing what Jesus has taught and they too will be judged for doing so. Christians are not allowed to Judge What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

The scriptures are God breathed. Therefore, it is the ultimate word of God. That's definitely how I feel about the new testament. The old testament definitely had my head spinning. The new testament is all about how Jesus teaches us the right way to live. And his words in the new testament are the ultimate word of God. We believe it to be the word of God. Which is why, if pastors do not teach based on the new testament, they're not being true Christians because there is no other reference in which we can use to teach the way Jesus wanted us to live. It's our RTFM of life and the way to live eternally. That's exactly what Jesus did. He explained what was expected of them through parables, that was the only way people could understand him. Yes I have. I read it everyday. I started reading it front to back. And quite honestly, I cannot retain every single verse in the bible. I only remember key points. I'm only up to Acts right now. As I had stated earlier, in the new testament, Jesus Christ came down to teach people they were going about everything the wrong way. He teaches that you shouldn't kill or hate people. If they do wrong, pray for them, forgive them and try to help them. Luke 6:27-36 Jesus said:"But if you are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Pray for the happiness of those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn the other cheek....and when things are taken away from you, don't try to get them back. Do for others as you would like them to do for you. Do you think you deserve credit merely for loving those who love you?...And if you lend money only to those who can repay you, what good is that?...Love your enemies! Do good to them!...Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to the unthankful and to those who are wicked. You must be compassionate, just as your Father is compassionate." but it is a story my friend. It's labeled exactly that, "The Greatest Story Ever Told". It's a story about holy people with regular people drama. It shows holy people falling from grace and getting back up again. Stories teach and we learn from them. I disagree with this. In NY, they have a civilian complaint review board that are on the people's side rather than the cops side. If anyone, makes an unfounded complaint about a cop assaulting them, cursing at them, or that are even discourteous to them, the cops are already on the chopping block. Some even get assigned to administrative duty (depending on the complaint) until further investigation clears them. So in NY, Cops are supposed to respect civilians on all levels, even those that have just broke the law. Another thing that I have to disagree with. In NY cops are prohibited to racially profile a person and even stereotype a person. If they commit this wrongful act, they will be investigated and it could lead to a suspension, termination or modified duty, depending on the offense that was committed. This is not a requirement but it does help. Cops in NY have to be polite and respectful to all, no matter what kind of repoire you get. What makes people start anything kind of thread that takes polls? Cuz I'm bored and I'm curious about how people feel about cops. There are very few people here that live in the metropolitan area of New York, so I'm just curious on what their thoughts are of their local police. It seems that you're the only one that even cares to voice their opinion. Thanks for taking the time to respond to this thread. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

Just like anything else......if you haven't read the bible yourself, you shouldn't go by what you hear from other people. The old testament didn't say it was okay to kill gays or say it was okay to kill people who messed around with you. The old testament has stories about those events taking place. That's exactly what they are, stories. There's nothing in the bible that states that, "it's okay to do this, it's approved!", after every story. The new testament has stories as well. The new testament has the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ came down to this world to teach everyone that they're going about things the wrong way. He came teach people to love one another, forgive one another, see wrong doings as trivial, to let God judge those people, and that we should never pass judgement on others. There are a lot of christians that don't even read the old testament. They skip right to the new testament. There are a lot of positive things in the old testament, such as the 10 commandments, the creation of the world, and tons of stories about people that loved and worshipped God more than life itself. Samurai136 can attest to this, I'm sure. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

It's a free country anyone can claim their religion as christian. Christian Pastors, teach from the bible and apply real life scenarios to the bible. If Christian followers do not read the bible then, they don't know the word of God. If they don't know the word of God, then they shouldn't call themselves Christians. I didn't say that they were fake. I was just trying to say that they shouldn't claim to be christian. I guess, I was a tad bit defensive because when a church or denomination claims to be christian, they're not being true to the Bible. If they don't believe that the bible is the final authority, then they shouldn't claim to be Christian. They should rename their belief to a different category, like "tea drugism" or something. Amen brother. At least we can tell who's real and who just wants to don the title of being "christian". What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

Dude, you probably know more than I do. You're asking me questions that a pastor should know.... I never said that the bible disapproves of drinking alcohol. You can drink wine or have a beer and what not. However, if you abuse it and get drunk, that's not cool. For a christian if they get drunk: if you do it, you do it because that's your choice. They know what's the deal is. Have a drink or two but know your limits and don't get drunk. Christians are human too. They're not perfect. Regarding myself, I haven't been drunk for over 6 years. I've had drinks socially since then but I've never crossed that line. My church doesn't drink wine and we don't have communion. I've been to at least 15 other churches that did have Communion. They use grape juice, not wine. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

My answer is no. I cannot speak for the other denominations because I am not educated about their backgrounds. I'm sure most of their answers would be no as well. As I had mentioned earlier, the bible doesn't condone the use of drugs. If a Christian were to use drugs to experience being closer to God, understanding God or to have a spiritual experience with God, they're going about it the wrong way. The bible and knowing Jesus are they way to have a spiritual experience with God. Since you have an extensive christian education and background, you'll realize that a lot of christians will claim to be christians but they don't believe that the bible is the final authority and that Jesus Christ is their lord and savior. Those that believe that also believe that drugs are not cool. I don't judge anyone who uses or abuses drugs and alcohol. It's a free country and it's your world. I just don't do them. Dude, seriously, what do you think the answer to that question is? If you're being a clown, that's okay but if you really think that's true, you should do some more research about Christianity. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

per the article: is considered sacred to members of the sect, which has a blend of Christian beliefs and South American traditions. Christianity has several different denominations. You're generalizing one church that may have adopted some idealogies of Christianity and called it their own religion. There's nothing written in the bible that condones the use of drugs. per the article: Members believe they can understand God only by drinking the tea, which is consumed twice a month at four-hour ceremonies. Christians know that to understand God, you must know scriptures from the bible and follow Jesus Christ. If this was posted to poke fun at Christianity, that's okay. However, if it wasn't I just wanted to clarify that the church mentioned in this article is definitely not a Christian Church. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

I really don't know what to tell you. You don't know me and you've judged me. That's okay because you're basing it on what you're reading. I didn't change my mind because people criticised me. If you would read my past posts you would understand where I'm coming from. A few of my friends in HR and and few of my police friends suggested that I do this to protect myself. Coming from them, I didn't think it was a problem. When people here pointed out that it was immoral I started to realize that they were right. Why are you hanging me when I didn't even commit the crime yet? I already opted to not lie about things. I decided to just go with it and take the risk. The reason why I had a change of mind about it because outsiders can give you a more unbiased point of view. Those that gave me the advice to protect myself know me personally and know my situation. So I guess you can say they just wanted what was best for me. This didn't happen, okay? This was prevented and I'm glad people here made me realize it was not the right approach to take. Haven't you ever made a mistake or had almost made a bad judgement call on a situation? What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

I didn't do anything. I just spoke about what my initial intentions were. If whomever hires me reads this and fires me or rejects me as a result, oh well. Life goes on. It's out of my hands. Smart or not smart, at least I was put back on the right track. That's all that matters to me. What's the most you ever lost in a coin toss, Friendo?

Whoa dude. That's a label. I don't wear labels. It's just my nature to help people out. You can call it a failure for me not pursuing to be a doctor/surgeon. I work as a Network Engineer. I'm always helping people out with problems. I even help people with computer problems outside of work for free. I'm not perfect. If I were to be altruistic, I would join the peace corps or be a missionary. Unfortunately, having an apartment or house, eating out and having a few drinks with friends here and there helps me to feel normal so I can't live without the comforts of being a little luxurious every now and then. That's okay. You're one of the people I have to thank for changing my mind. Your smart alecky comments and tone made me realize that if I were to do this one bad thing, I would be judged permanently. It's not easy erasing a mark on you once it's been made. And that's what would have happened here. One lie now can lead to road of 1,000 lies down the line. That's definitely not how I want to live my life. I believe that once you plant a bad seed, you'll have a crop full of poisonous vegetation that you won't be able to eradicate.
