Heck ya it does. Skydiving helps break the monotony in my life. The people at my dz are also my extended family. I get to live a different life when I go skydiving. It's a carefree life where I forget about my 9 to 5 job for the weekend. It also helps me release my stress and what not. I not only get to do what I've been dreaming of doing since I was 5 but I also get to improve my swooping skills and freeflying skills. It's great! The sad thing is, when they made their decision to go, there's no turning back or cries for help. My best friend two years ago couldn't swim, so he decided to jump in the west river in NYC. He knew that there was no going back or backing out of it. He just did it. What's ironic is he used to talk most of my friends out of hurting themselves or killing themselves in the past. He saved a lot of people's lives. I lost contact with all 3 of my buddies before they killed themselves. I used to blame myself for not being there for them when they needed. However, who's to say that even if I was there for them that it wouldn't have happened? It's not something we can prevent or control sometimes. And it's not something we can detect early on either, especially, if they don't open up to us. Try not to remember how they died or when they died. Remember, the way they lived life. I used to think the same way till recently. However, I make myself flexible for church. If I go to church sunday, I make an all day skydiving event on saturday. I can also go to church on saturday and make an all day skydiving event sunday. If I only have one weekend day free and I have to choose either skydiving or church. I do both. Church service can start as early as 9am. I usually go to the 11am service and I'm out of there by 12pm and I have 7 1/2 hours of skydiving for the rest of the day. That's not a bad deal. You can do both if you put yourself up to it. Blue Skies. P.S. If you really feel closer to God when you skydive and you'd rather skydive than be at church.
