Hey all, Thanks for the feedback. I had been looking at Southern California if I was to make the trip over the pond. Places like Elsinore and Perris as I have family in LA and in Sacramento. Also started looking at Skydive Spain & Empuriabrava in Spain as well. Trying to weigh up all the different factors from weather at that time of year to cost of travel, courses and accommodation.

Hi Guys, I am returning for a second crack at getting my skydiving licence after originally trying through the raps course about 7 years ago. I am thinking of taking a week of holiday before Christmas to do an AFF course and was wondering where would be good to do it. I am based in England so naturally concerned about the weather being an issue so was wondering if people could recommend drop zones that usually enjoy good weather at that time of year in other countries. Regards, Ravi

Im asian, started skydiving last year, my cousin sister (if you havnt guessed is also asian) got qualified doin AFF quite a few years ago aswell, the reason that not many people in my family or asian side social circle of mine dont realy go skydiving is it do with upbringin and parents having more control over asian kids (or atleast in my family), for example it took me a month to convince my mom to agree to sign the concent form because im 17, and even when im 18 and i can skydivin on my own accord my parents would have a say and could say no im not doing it which would greatly effect my disision. Overall in a sport which is thought to be dangerous due to media creating that perception then Asian people atleast where parents are alot more over protective are not realy goin to be giving it much thought. My 2 cents, Rav

Just wonderin then, cos people sayin its on the way and that but no one has said specificly yes to the original question of its commin in june 2005 so like next month?? sumone elce said this but just wanna repeat, does sound abit optimistic?? Do you guys have a specific date your aiming for or time frame eg. early or late june for example?? Just wondering because ive just started the Raps course and getting time in a tunnel from what ive been reading in the wind tunnel section would greatly help me along to getting myself qualified. Any more info you could give would be greatly apreciated, also for the Bedford wind tunnel aswell if anyone knows cos they are both about an hour and half away from me (so multimap tells me anyway) so reachable for practice. What jump # did you first land standing up?
rav101 replied to Nickkk's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Landed standing up on both my jumps which i did on sunday being my 3rd and 4th jumps, was soo amazingly cool cos the first jump i did i forgot about the whole bringing my canopy down and i got dragged onto my back and on the second i roled cos it was a bit of a hard landing. -

I've only just started skydiving but i know about wind tunnels and was going to find out about them in the UK now ive started jumping, its sad to hear that UK doesnt yet have a wind tunnel and that the date for this one hasnt been able to be upheld because of funding problems. As a newbie to the sport i would have liked to have gone in the wind tunnel for the closest thing to get experience for free fall and then manover practice after that.
