  1. I tried to move away a few times, but despite all those dreaded field trips to see the liberty bell, I still like Philly best.
  2. Whoa is me, I ran out of non-alchoholic beverages last night as was too lazy to buy more. So I was forced to drink all day. Wouldn't say I'm drunk, but I'm getting there!
  3. I messed up my tailbone a bit on my first jump ever (rough seated landing). Couldn't sit without a cushion for about 3 weeks, but haven't had a problem since, course I've only been on 2 jumps since, hehe.
  4. What part of Philly are you moving to? I'm a few miles south of Philly and for me Crosskeys (http://www.skydivecrosskeys.com/) was closest, but there's another one NW of Philly that I was looking at that may be closer for you. Website is http://www.skydivephiladelphia.com/

    FASTER

Since I use Opera and it can be a pain in the ass to get those mozilla plug-ins to work.
  6. All but 1 of my friends is doing the traning with me. Bastards, guess I'm stuck with em. But yeah I have noticed a more distant relationship with the one that doesn't. Enjoy talking about how awesome it is so much, you'd think he was afraid I was trying to "evangelize" him to skydiving.

QuickTime, grrr. Don't feel like installing that.
  8. Hehe, after reading all this stuff about relaxing, I decided to make sure I did on my 3rd tandem. I ended up concentrating on relaxing and my body position so much, I forgot what I was supposed to do. But dammit I was relaxed.
  9. Just adding my 2 newbie cents... While I, like anybody else, would prefer to spend as little money as possible to become certified, looking towards the future with my whopping 2 tandem jumps experience, my primary concern is actually learning the skills. Who cares if you did or did not do well enough to move on to the next level. It's all irrelevant if you haven't learned the skills, safety included, to do it alone without anybody around to help you. I'm very anxious to get to be able to jump without an instructor correcting me, but at the same time, if I haven't learned something to my satisfaction, I'll hold myself back if the instructor doesn't. Be thankful when you get more time with the instructors. It'll pay off lots when you're on your own. On top of that, you'll be known as being very determined in your goals, so you'll gain respect for the efforts you put into it. Luckily the above applies to more than just skydiving, so I wasn't just talking out of my @ss.
  10. Thanks. I'll check around for some locations. So far I've only seen pics.
  11. Totally newbie question here cause it's the first thought that crossed my mind when I saw the pics. Maybe it just doesn't look as high as it is, but how do you have enough time with that many jumpers to spread out far enough to deploy your chute? Anyway g/l next time. Pretty amazing to see that many people meet up in freefall like that.
  12. Thanx for the tip Jeth, you make a good point. Guess there's no need to prolong the agony with an xtra tandem, but I do think I'll be doing my final tandem and first AFF in the same day if I can.
  13. Yep, that first one is a doozy. Was so excited about it for the next 3 weeks that I almost couldn't sleep.
  14. Just sayin hi. Did my 2nd tandum recently & ground school. Still excited about the last jump and the next to come and yet absolutely terrified that I won't be able to push past the fear and just jump on that first AFF. Guess the fear of the initial jump is natural. So far I've been too excited in freefall to remember being afraid. Still not that great of an "archer", so I may do an xtra tandem to make sure I am doing it right. As for fear, being a newbie still terrified of the word 'go', I'm fairly certain that anybody else out there with a terrifying experience will also push through it. If that were not the case, you never woulda jumped the first time. G/L to all.
