Ahh I know where I got that 25mph number... I was thinking it was either 25 or 29, which I know realize 29 was the number I was thinking of.... I think they told us roughly 15mph for the max canopy speed so with a max wind speed of 14mph for us students, we could still move forward upwind. I probably just added the 2 figures up for some strange reason.

Yeah it's one thing to forget what day it is and oversleep, but working on a holiday is something that just stands out in your mind. I would think that would be damn near impossible to forget.

Yeah I'd defnitely wait a bit on that idea. While it may be hard to believe... or damn near impossible to believe, it is possible that your excitement may dwindle during AFF and then you'd be out a few thousand bucks. Besides, where I've been going, you don't rent the gear for the AFF jumps, so it would really be a waste of money to pay for it twice, since it's obviously included in the cost.

Dammit an hour left of work and I was about to go to the DZ to get a jump in, but they can't meet their 50 jumper minimum to get a plane off the ground.. wonder if I can get a loan and manage to hustle enough to get 50 jumps in... 6 of which would be the rest of AFF, hehe.

Mine turned out better than expected too. Still got lectured on how I should shave my head like everyone else, but I did manage to find 5 people in the family that wanna try skydiving, 6 if you include my niece... but she's got about 10+ years before she can.

I vote cause there wasn't a choice for both. I find it difficult to believe that we evolved by chance, but I do believe that evolution could be true.

Hmm good catch. There are lots of individuals in our military that are native to foreign countries. I guess when they spill their blood to aid us, it really doesn't mean as much..

Uh.. wouldn't the fact that they thanked a god also be a historical fact? Modifying history to portray a society devoid of religion is not the way.

Yeah I'm stuck here too. Luckily didn't get caught in all the mall traffic, got a parking spot within 500 feet of the building instead of a half mile, get to leave at 2pm, was gonna go jump (gorgeous day), but it's damn cold out there!

I watched the Flintstones religiously, but I guess I was too young at the time to remember a Madame Yes or that quote or to even care really, hehe. I dunno about that "style" thing cause I haven't bumped into all that many skydivers, myself included, that wear clothes that don't make "the others" cringe.

I would venture to say that most people that got into this sport might have seen a short spurt in a film or something, decided they had to try it, and then went out to find a place to go. I know I wasn't recruited. I just saw paratroopers once and knew right then I wanted to do this. Would you really want somebody that isn't serious about the sport (at least enough to be safety conscious) up there with you? -

That ramen noodle thing happened to me a few years ago when unbeknownst (did I spell that right?) to me, the chow hall was closing at 4pm instead of the usual 6pm for Easter. I ended up eating a few sandwiches from the gas station down the street.
