    I have given up on Premiere, since it appears that it will be a pain to make it export, which is the whole point, with my new Dell laptop and some goofy chipset. I was thinking about Avid, but it seems like it is going to be a hard program to learn. I don't want to do anything fancy, just capture my videos, and clip them into little projects that I can set to music, etc... I'm curious what everyone else uses, and if Avid is as hard to learn as it seems..? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    So anyone out there have any experience with Premiere and Avid? I like using Premiere, but am kind of pissed about this little detail- not exporting it back into the camera!!! My parents have a desktop that would be ok, but I don't have a firewire card, and don't want to pay to put one in... I would just as well use Avid, but don't know how hard it is to use, etc... Anyone have any experience with both??? ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    It became regular when I had about ~80 with my PC9, but I had a TRV-11 that I jumped with on a top mount about 5-7 times when I had about 45-50 jumps. Yes, I know, too early... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    The most incredible part about this is- with all the sniper action- Washington DC has always had the strictest gun control, and highest murder rate. I would also assume that this NON-law-abiding citizen (read mass murderer) did not buy this rifle in a legal manner. By definition, all the laws in the world would not deter this criminal... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    It really is incredible how many people in this post would never drink and drive after drinking more than two beers. And how everyone supports taking licenses away for a .0001 blood level. A couple of my friends are cops, and one time when I went out with them, we responded to a call where a car was in a ditch. There were three empty gin bottles in teh back, and the driver had a .42. Point being, this would kill nearly all of us, but he was still relatively functional. I would also assume that since I do my fair share of drinking, I can function far better with a .10 than most people who don't drink... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    I was watching the two skydiving parts in Point Break, and if it wasn't for the big screen, people would never know that skydive rigs have leg straps. In every scene, they just throw them on like backpacks and go for a 4-5 minute freefall from 6k... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    Cool, what setting do you select on the left? I selected the first one, and it came to about 1mb/sec, but the audio was hard to even identify the song...     Premiere 6.0/6.5. I exported it using Premiere into the .mpg, and then it was later compressed into a .wmv. ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    Premiere seems to work really well for a PC, but seems like I am having lots of problems with it lately, and Adobe requires you to pay to tell them about problems with their software... Not very nice of them.... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    No problem, ATB is one of those that most of their stuff is good. In fact, the second part of the video has a little clip from another song, and that one is also from ATB, called "too much rain".     I agree, 50mb is ridiculous for a dial-up. In fact, I would imagine that it would be tomorrow that you would get to see it if you started when I put it up Monday... That was the problem with keeping the file size small. I exported it from Premiere as a .mpg, since I would imagine that the three minute full DV quality is near 1gb. But to get it from 1gb, to 50mb, to 5.5mb is great... BTW The song is ATB's "til I come"... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    I would think that the less they know, the better they are. My mom refuses to come to the airport to watch me jump, thinking that she is going to be there the first time I hurt myself. I just want her to come out once so she has to buy beer... But my mom doesn't know about, and hasn't seen the video of the slurry bomber, just because I think that she would never be able to sleep. I told my brother when it happened, and he couldn't believe it, but he might do a tandem when he comes out to visit in two weeks. But overall, I think the less that is told, the better... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    I've been having a lot of goofy problems with Premiere lately. First, it would be going through the timeline like it should in preview, and then it would just randomly race through until the end from a random place, at about 4x faster than it should. Then, I finished my video, and tried to export it to tape, and it just freaks out every minute or so, and inserts a bunch of random pixels or a gray or blue screen for those ~2 seconds... WTF, anyone have any ideas, or is this just a part of Premiere? PS I am doing this on a P4, 256k RAM etc, maybe more ram, but it seems like I've done ok on the other computer that is far less powerful... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......

    Oh yes, I'll even let you download it for free... It just takes a couple minutes to get because it is ~50mb, but you just go onto ftp.skydivingmovies.com, and it is in the uploads section...     I've been taking videos for about the last year, and fire-wired a lot between my camera and the people I jumped with. This was my first "product" out of Adobe Premiere, a whole bunch of clips with music... All freeflying, some swooping, etc.. Just a documentary of some well-organized craziness... ------------------------------------------ Getting banned isn't that bad......
